Crit or mana troop on Mother North

Hi there, I have Mother North who is by far my best hero with a sturdy lvl 19 crit troop, but recently I pulled a green mana troop.

Now I’m wondering what is best for Mother North. Normally I’d always swing to the mana troop but since MN summons minions, the crit troop makes her minions more beefy, thus any hero she resurrects has more chance of surviving afterwards. But making her go off faster and heal herself more also sounds good.

Whats the best way to go?

Mother North, as a slow mana speed hero, would need a lvl 17 mana troop to go from 12 tiles to 11 tiles. I don’t think this is that much of a difference as you will often still need to make four 3-matches to charge her mana. I think it is still important to level up the green mana troop to benefit your other green heroes but I personally would use the crit troop on Mother North.

I run her w a lvl 25 crit troop and she’s the strongest offensive hero in the game

Minion makers – especially slow ones – really benefit from crit troops. The mana troop is not going to do much for Mother North in terms of speeding her up. The crit troop will really push up her HP. And that makes every minion stronger. The crit troop also gives a bigger defense bonus than the mana troop.

Definitely the crit troop for MN!

What do you think of two MN on the same offense team?

I lucked out and pulled two of her on consecutive EHT. I have the first one at 4.80+14 and climbing. The second is at 3.70. I’m one tonic away from being able to take another green to tier 4. Options include MN#2, Elkanen, Atomos, Lianna #2

I could certainly use both on different attack teams. Just curious about how crazy strong they would be on the same team…

I think her second incarnation is diminished in value vs what could be in her place

I run mono and my team is North / ?? / Kingston / Lianna / Evelyn

Eve/Lian/King charge first - After I fire Evelyn I will finish the tank if it’s not done with Lianna, then fire King at anyone who will hurt me. If tile placement was good they die, but most of the time they’re alive but on very low health.

I’ll take shots back and may lose a hero or two.

Now I Either charge up the hero I have listed as “??” Only or both mystery green and North. for me, right now, “??” Is Telly

Telly does all the awesome telly stuff and his normally meagre damage usually kills Kingston’s target.

If I’ve lost heroes and north and telly charge, North revives some w very low health but w her minion and Telly’s minion, plus Telly’s boost to health, I’m often way back in the game after absorbing both Vela and Gravy hits

I think Telly is more important than a 2nd North. His hit is key. His heal over time is better as it’s less likely to be wasted in one shot. And heroes that North 1 revived can’t be revived again so North’s biggest deal is negated and becomes super situational backup. And you have two attack holes in your offence.

If I had two Norths each would lead an offensive green war team. They’d never be on the field together

Whereas that’s clearly good advice, I must say @Olmor has posted some entertaining matches featuring his surprisingly effective team of exclusively green healers. I’m sure if he had five of Mother North he’d have them all in one team… BEWARE LOW-FLYING PORRIDGE PANS! DUCK!
