Since tank are heavy on defense and that the damage calculation formula is an exponential of attack over defense, it’s usually a lot better to reduce the enemy’s defense than to increase our own attack. Both is best of course but if one has to choose between DD or Attack Up, the former is usually better.
Moreover, in Grimm case, sure the Attack Up bonus of his costume is bigger than his DD but the Attack Up is only for him and his neighbors, whereas his DD can benefit all of his allies hitting the three hit enemies.
That’s why I bring cKiril. Defense down, Attack down, and heals the team. #synergy
Then surround cGrimm with Sapphire and either version of Sonya. Round out the team with Frosth.
Well I just got Grimm and C Grimm to 3/70 and was wondering who should I base the emblems on… grimm or C grimm? I am definitely going sheild path because of their low defense.
I was leaning towards the costume version because for attack buff I have C Vivica, Tiburtus, Silvaria, Zila Lei, Wilbur, and C kiril for defense down.
So I can setup a formation similar to what @rebelsouljah mentioned above.
I don’t think that it’s cGrimm > Grimm, but that having the option to go attack-up or DD allows you to choose what fits with the rest of your team so you can more easily work in both on any given team. (Possibly even pairing cGrimm with Grimm, in the right context.)
Either I wasn’t thinking or I was thinking…I’m never sure. But my Grimm/cGrimm went sword path. He is an attacking hero, and forum logic states that you emblem based on the hero’s strength, so going sword path to increase his attack stat makes sense.
However, if Grimm’s purpose in life is to either give a defense down or attack up, then maybe keeping him alive is important. But then again, the name of this game is to not survive and live longer than your opponent, but to destroy them before they destroy you. So I guess sword path is best. Especially since cGrimm might be able to take advantage of his attack buff when he gets a full mana bar again.
I see your point but now that the game has heavy nukers left and right and since Grimm’s SS is Average speed, I think defense health would help him surivive to increase his chances of firing… idk I am just thinking outloud here…
I got this guy and am both excited for his costume and a little confused on best use. He will probably be in costume more than out. I already have c-Magni, Isarnia, and Athena to drop D in blue.
50% is a big boost, so I am thinking go HO/D so he lives to fire and boost others? I use Glenda currently like this, and Lancelot, but 50% A boost seems better than 50% special skill boost. Perhaps Glenda’s use will decrease?
Yes, attack buff is multiplicative (attack is multiplied by 1.50 in your example, which is then used in the SS damage calculation) and better because it also improves slash attacks / tiles whereas special skill boost is additive (ie a SS doing 330% of damage will do 380% instead, not 330%*1.5). The later is probably better only for SS doing less than 100% of damage but those are just very few, and again it doesn’t improve slash attacks / tiles. Though if you can have both buff, it’s ofc even better
I have put heroes like Octros inbetween Lancelot and Glenda in the past. 48% A boost from Lancelot and the 40% added to SS. When he swings then it can cause some massive damage. Fun stuff
Too bad for Glenda. Counts like c-Grimm is doing to steal her thunder somewhat.
His boosts last so long that it is often effect when he fires again. After he fires my specials are noticeably stronger and mowing people down.
A raid today I had him fire on the right side of the enemy formation. Then I used Grace followed by Lianna on a Theodore in the left wing. He was LB’d, but still level 80, and +20 and the one-two punch of Grace and Lianna with a c-Grimm boost (Grimm’s special did not touch Theodore) killed Theordore. That was amazing.
I imagine he can be great in events and stuff too, 50% is huge. He is likely to keep stealing playing time from Glenda, because 40% to special is waaaay less impactful. She does offer a cleanse and higher stats though.
