Advice on which 4* heroes to work on next

Hi guys, this is in regards to my alt account and given levelling is so slow I want to make sure I’m spending time on the most useful heroes.

I’ve only got 1 set of 5* ascended, and a few 3* of each colour, but I only have one set of 4* ascended and I know that was a mistake on my part working on 5* before more 4*.

These are the 4* I currently have full ascended:

Red - Boldtusk
Yellow - Mist
Green - Hansel
Blue - Sapphire
Purple - Ametrine

These are the 4* I’m thinking about working on next, but would love to get your thoughts:

Red - Guardian Falcon (for the EDD). Other options are Aodhan, Cilian, Rokkamush, Sir Lancelot, Shadereave, Sumle and Wilbur.
Yellow - Wu-Kong (or should I rely on Bertulf instead? I also have his costume). Other options are Anastasia, Griffin, Gretel and Gullinbursti.
Green - Almur (for the EDD, but I already have C. Francine for EDD on Ice is that enough?). Other options are Anton, Franz, Wren, Peters, Orla, Brynhild, Buddy, Jack O’Hare and Tettukh.
Blue - No idea actually but options are Sanngrior, Zila Lei, Jott, C. Frank, Triton, Captain of Diamonds, Valeria, Mireweave, Kiril and Grimm.
Purple - Sergei (for the EDD). Other options are Ingolf, Fura, Proteus, Cheshire Cat, Boomer, Merlin, Rigard and Tiburtus.

Any advice on if I’m focusing on the right heroes (and if any suggestions with blue) would be greatly appreciated. I know it takes a while to read and answer questions like this so thank you to all who respond :slight_smile:

Honestly you have so many there you should do it’s almost easier to say all. But Franz is top of list. I once heard the 4 stars are backbone of game, and I think it’s still true. I probably have most of those maxed except a few. I have 66 five stars maxed and still use 4 stars all the time.

You have so many great choices! Wow.

I can’t speak for every hero because I don’t have all of them. But here’s the order I would ascend them. Note that I’m strongly biased toward healers.

Blue: Kiril, Grimm, Zila Lei

Purple: Rigard (especially when you get his costume), Proetus, Cheshire

Green: Anton, Brynhild, Tettuk/Peters (your choice depending on whether you like beefier stats or faster speed)

Yellow: Either Wu-Kong or Anastasia. I don’t have Bertulf and am completely ignorant about him. I use Wu-Kong on every Titan (even the Holy ones) and my new LB +20 Anastasia has made a world of difference in tournaments, raids and even farming Season III/IV on Autoplay

Red: I can’t offer great advice. The only one on your list I’ve used is Wilbur. Not a bad choice but maybe there are better.

ETA: Wu-Kong on the Titans. I retired from large alliances almost a year ago so my Titans are wimpy. 4* to 6* max.

Thanks for your input! I also have Anastasia and Anton quite high on my list as I know they are great since their recent buff. If I did Sergei as well that would be an amazing family bonus (100% chance to increase mana of a hero by 5% each fire). I do see value in Rigard but I guess as I didn’t have his costume I did prioritise him as number 1. Anyway thanks I will consider your list :slight_smile:

Wilbur best for Challange Events, Titan, and farming, decent for War paired with BT and Falcon, so either Falcon or Wilbur 1st.
Cillian and Aodhan both are great pair, and I use both for raid and war with good succes.
Even I use Cillian in war defense on Rush Rule, he is that great, can revive and good hit-3 plus fighter talent.
Sir Lancelot if you plan for great additional attack buff in challange events.

Use Bertulf instead. Gullibusrti is so great for raid, war, and farming. Anastasia is also decent after her buff update, specially good for this tournament (Bloody Battle), I use her as defense and always bring her in my offense. Griffin is good fast sniper. Gretel is also good to slowdown enemy, but you already have Proteus which is better option.

All good option here.
Franz is great for Titan and a good defense/offense for War (Rush rule).
Anton if you do not have reviver.
Wren is epic version of Finley, good fast chain -attack opponent.

You already have best defdown for Titan, Frank, so… I think the order ascend are:
Kiril, Jott (good for titan), Grimm, Zila Lei.

if you have trouble in map farming/Rare Quests, then Proteus 1st, then Sergei, then Rigard, then Tiburtus (for versatile function), then Ceshire Cat (for better defdown Titan), then Merlin for additional Mana controller, then Ingolf decent damage after his update, good for Rush rule.

Thanks so much for the detailed response, so helpful! Only thing I wanted to clarify was you never mentioned which order Almur fits in for greens or should he be de-priotized? Similar for blues, in which order should Frank be ascended? :slight_smile:

About Almur, as you said, you already have cFrancine, I think he can wait, there are also some good epic season1 heroes to consider if you have it or wait from Costume (better, because has bonus stat) or TC20, like Melendor and Caedmon for dispell.

About Frank, I think it is also depend on playstyle, he is slow, but the costume can be as anti-minion. You can try at 3.60 for a while, then if too slow, Grimm is also great specially if you have mana troop lvl 23 or lvl 17 (Grimm Emblemed with mana node), but he is squishy though.
Based on Healers you have, I think the priority for blue Kiril 1st.

I see that youonly have Boldtusk as healer and my suggestion is to get at least a healer in each colour if possible. Rigard and Gullinbursti are a must for me.

Other options for me would be Guardian Falcon, Franz, Almur, Tettukh, Anastasia and C Frank. Ofc, depends a lot also on available emblems

Okay makes sense, thanks! I do have some of those S1 like Melendor and Caedmon but guess I’m waiting for their costumes. Appreciate your advice!

That’s a good point, healers are so important. I also haven’t really factored in emblems so I shall do that. I have lots of emblems except for what I’ve put on my 5* defense team. I’ll look at your list and consider that. Thank you :slight_smile:

Ok you have so many good 4* that I would rush to max out. So will stick with two from each colour. These would be:
Red : Wilbur and Guardian Falcon
Blue : Jott and Kiril
Yellow : Gullinbursti and Anastasia
Purple : Proteus and Sergei (but Rigard if you have his costume)
Green : Franz and Anton
My suggestions might change if you had costumes for your 4* heroes
Whichever you choose good luck

Anastasia. Use as tank or flank on defense. Crazy strong. Emblem with swords and hearts. She also slices through maps.
