Any minion makers are good for bloody battle, so dawn is good, and planchet as a minion remover. Alessia and waqas are good to reduce max health, and alessia makes a mask minion too, so she’s a great choice. Aqeela or fawn for the dodge.
Here’s what I’m using and I’m pretty happy with it, a couple of minion makers, reduce max health, shrubbear to avoid hits (dodge works too) and treevil as a hard hitter. With your roster, I’d replace shrubbear with alessia, and kvasir with planchet/fawn/felton. And if you wanted someone faster than treevil, maybe aqeela, but you’ve got a lot of good options.
Thank you so much for the in-depth advice! I wish I had Kvasir, just started on Shrubby today after finishing Ptolemy, so he’s not ready yet. I hope you do well in the tournament!
No problem! Actually after looking at your heroes I decided to lb2 alessia and swap out shrubbear for her, so it helped me too! (Hopefully ) Let me know how you go!
Tough start to the tournament. Attacked with 3-1-1 stack against the Tank colour. Kvasir and Dawn were the only constants.
Almost all matches were a struggle and only Dawn’s mana cutting minions helped me survive long enough. Lucked my way through four wins before losing the last match against this team.
Attack is 4-1 so far. I’m going 3-2 against the tank and most dangerous flank colours, but with rare (and legendary) heroes this format is almost board dependent as the rush tournament. A bad board against the wrong tank/flank means game over.
Defense is 1-3. I picked a team of only hitters, the fastest i had among the most levelled (1lb +20). Fianna - Aqeela - Boots - Zarola - Ribbit but seems like it was not the best strategy
First time using LB2 Shrubbear (finally) and boy is that alpha taunt handy. Had some tough battles but felt RNG was eventually on my side and pushed me through. Hardest was against a LB2 Shrub tank with Kinshaishi who hit me very hard.
5-0 on attack to start yet still not sold on my attack team. (Pretty sure I say this almost every week though )
This tournament gave me an epiphany. What is the point of LB2’ing your defense team if you don’t have LB2 attack teams to back it up? Lvl 55 is useless at this level, and strategy doesn’t matter because of the huge gap in stats.
This team in particular made me question my choices in life. Unless you get the tiles to fire Kvasir from the start, it’s over:
Bad boards continued on Day 2. Actually lost to a team with 2 healers (Faiez and Rekhetre) in the first match. The Sun family burn damage whittled down my team and Ribbit + Alessia finished it off.
Won the next 3, but lost again the last, this time against a Dawn tank flanked by Waqas and Noril. Couldn’t kill Dawn before she fired, and even with a wing Edelaide whose heal was useless, her attack up buff led to deadly slashes.
Defense is still A (1-0) so might buy back in tomorrow in case of a 4th loss.
Day 2 offense was 3-2, and day 1 I was not attacked so my defense was C, so far today when I looked earlier, my defense was E from being attacked 1 time and losing.
1 and out on Day 3. Faced another Dawn team (Zarola - Boots - Dawn - Maeve - Noril) and attacked with Green stack of Zarola - Dawn - Zarel - Zarola - Kvasir. Match went down to my Zarel vs the wing Noril. Just couldn’t get any Green tiles before Noril charged.
Defense has dropped to 1-3 (E) so no point in continuing.
Going strong this time! Especially my defense seems impenetrable.
Offense: 15-5
Defense: 6-0 (A)
Total score: 13,156
I was at the top 1% yesterday already, and hoping it will stay that way.
Today I used the same team for all attacks: Kinsaishi-Kvasir-Dawn-Shrubbear-Felton. Everything else is easy to kill except other minion heavy teams, for which you just need enough holy tiles for a single Kvasir cast. I decided to 2LB Kinsaishi in the middle of this tournament and it has proven to be a good decision. Once you get your minions rolling, you can delay your attack enough to get his 3rd charge up, which works wonders at 2LB.
