Been a while since I have started 5-0 in a tournament. Mainly Yellow and Purple tanks faced today.
Kvasir was an auto-start in attack as well as William for his Recruit Guard Mega Minion at the start. Yellow stack included Jaco and tGan Ju while the Purple stack was newly maxed Morganite, tBalthazar, and Aqeela/cTyrum. The last spot was usually Joukahainen against buffers or Bagreg/Boots. Morganite’s speed and blindness ailment is working great so far, though his stats are a bit outdated. Certainly won’t use him against a Yellow Toon.
Boards weren’t that great but a couple of lucky cascades here and there was enough. Started facing 4000+ TP defenses from the 3rd match and it’ll only get tougher tomorrow.
Tough battles all around today with every team over 4100TP. Continued with same 3-1-1 tactic, stacking against the tank.
Lost one against a Betty tank. Went 3 Yellows (Jaco - Kvasir - tGan Ju) and the tiles came too late to win. Just scored 109 points. Considering I was 7-4 in this tournament 33 weeks ago, the 9-1 record is already a big improvement.
Defense is 4-2 (A) at the moment after finishing day 1 at 1-1 (B).
He’s great. Would have loved him more if he was Fast instead of Average, but in addition to his damage and def down, he also gives Wither to the enemies. Really helps the longer the battle goes on and it’s good even against Toons.
Was a bit lucky as the many Toons faced today avoided hitting the right coloured hero for extra damage. Opposing tBalthazars and tPriscas didn’t target my Kvasir and that was enough time for the bee guy to put up his minions. Alongside William’s mini-Mega Minion, the damage chipped away at the Toons’ high hp until I could finish them either with SS or tiles.
On the flip side, defense lost 5 in a row and is down to C (6-7). That’s a trade I would make though.
Started off Day 4 against an all Toon team of Prisca - Azar - Gan Ju - Belith - Graymane. Said I wasn’t going to use Morganite against a Yellow Toon, but decided to risk it against a Yellow tank… My other choice was Tyrum/cTyrum. The poison and blindness might not work most of the time against Toons, but at 6 tiles he fires a lot of times and he’s got 700+ Atk. Attacked with Morganite - Kvasir - William - Aqeela - tBalthazar. Got a good board and was an easy win.
By a quirk in the RNG, was matched up with the same defense immediately. Rolled the dice again but not as lucky this time. Was a long match, but in the end couldn’t get William charged up before the remaining Prisca in the defense. Still over 400 points from that loss.
Bounced back to win the next 3 against Betty, Paeia, and Swan Maiden tanks. Each time, stacked 3 heroes strong against the tank and filled up the lineup with Kvasir, William, or tBalthazar.
Defense has been streaky. After 5 losses dropped the grade temporarily to C, 4 straight wins and it’s now on the cusp of A again at 10-7.

EDIT: Fishy must have been in the middle of the fight, because after a while he overtook me
Well the moral of this story is don’t have a terrible defense! My best offensive tournament performance to date (24-1) and not much to show for it due to an E defense all week. Missed the chance for a medal and the leaderboard by a ton. Currently sitting below 1K in rank. Ah well.
Only had a bit of trouble in the last match of the day against a Toon Prisca tank with Toon Balthazar flank. Lost all my Yellow heroes, but the other 2 avoided major damage to land the killing blows.
