Luckily today on Day 1 I did not face any Ludwigs with LB2.
The only team that had 1x LB2 was the final team, but it was “just” a Heimdall LB2, BUT it did have a LB1 Khufu as tank, and I used the same 3-2 team throughout, but funnily enough it was the LOWEST team power team I faced that I almost lost against.
I faced 5100 - 5250, except Team 4, it was 4750 but I had 2x Minion makers (LotL and Liu Bei), I didn’t really pay attention and they had Noor + Viscaro

My Defense:
Ariel / Louhi / Ludwig / LotL / C2 Magni
(Only LotL and Ludwig are LB1)
I don’t have high hopes for this defense but I wanted something different than what I would probably usually go for.
Oh and so far, only 1 Kalo, no Mother North or Alfrike (I did face Alfrike wing but she died easily)

I don’t have very strong 5* heroes, so today’s opponents weren’t too demanding (only one Alfrike-tank). Both blue and purple are allowed, so I attacked with the standard team: Miki, Ariel, Alfrike, cbTiburtus and cbRigard/cSabine.
Well a nice start, I doubt it’s gonna last long, but not bad. 3x Ludwig tanks right of the bat, 2 of them 2X LB and 1 Alfrike tank with LB1 def which was the hardest one on last flag - Kalo, Kunchen, Alfrike, Ahmose, C MN. Despite Ahmose I did go with 3 reds + Faiez and Proteus, the 3 reds were C Marj, Erebus and Bonecrusher. Got 2 red matches right away and another ghosted match after killing tank and the 2 on the right with Proteus stopping the ones on the left just in case… If I went with 3 blues, I would not charge anyone, so glad I took reds.
Already a very hardcore day 1… I hate it lol.
Oh and my Lord Loki is still 1/1, so I can’t use him yet on this tourney.
I was lucky and I won 5 battles today. Tanks were: Telluria, Zagrog, Zenobia, Goseck, Quintus. 3 first fights were easy as I could take heroes in a strong color and I got good boards. The one with Goseck was tough only because I let him fire: I couldn’t kill him and I reduced his health significantly so I was sure that he will kill all my heroes. Fortunately 3 of my heroes survived, they were charged and killed the whole team.
When I saw the team with Quintus tank I realised that I have G. Chameleon and I can takie him with my strong purple heroes! Why I didn’t do that when attacking Goseck team is beyond me… Chameleon is awesome.
My defence is doing OK, I was attacked twice and I won those battles.
Maybe it’s because of all the LB2, but got matched up with ‘easy’ teams today. Only 2 Dark tanks in Lu Bu and Alfrike. The other 3 tanks were M&M, Chomper, and Athos.
For the non-Darks went with 3 of the strong colour + Ludwig and either another off-colour overhealer (Arco) or Xiaotu to counter the minions. Boards were good so not much trouble except for the Alfrike team.
Starting board was bad, but MN and Ludwig avoided the first cubes. She kept the team alive, and revived Ludwig after he got Khufued. The second time Alfrike fired, I had Kitty ready and those cubes went flying back the way they came Went into overtime but won it in the end.
Can we please, please, please retire this idiotic game mechanic to the dustbin of E&P ideas? It is the worst. Find something that is not entirely dependent on opening boards.
I admit I do keep getting my colors right away and had no tough off-color, so RNG is so far on my side, but Shrubbear LB2 is great too. his starting taunt saved me from Alfrike tank, that I had to charge cause my colors were right under her.
Today actually wasn’t as hardcore as day 1, tank wise - 1 Alfrike, 1 LB2 Set, 1 LB2 Aramis, 1 Bennu, 1 LB2 Ludwig. There was 1 Alfrike flank, 1 Hippo and quite a few Kalos and Khufus, but almost no one fired due to my colors coming right away. I’m wondering when bad boards/off-colors are gonna hit.
