Wondering if the 4* owl, Juliani could have a purpose in this tournament.
Anyways, looking forward to a bunch of Alfrike, Aramis and other messed up purple heroes in tank and flank. Hopefully Goldie can fire her special before the opponent does.
I wish it was Alfrike and Aramis and Ludwig and other outdated heroes. At least there are good counters against those. Instead it’s probably gonna be a face full of C Diaochan and Goblin mega minions.
Alfrike doesn’t worry me that much since there are good counters to her now such as Toons, heroes with Mindless-resisting passives or heroes with Ailment Immunity Aether power. Worse will be heroes such as Mena or Luna or Darkfeather who’s much more dangerous when everyone’s mana is faster. Toon Isarnia hits pretty hard, especially against red heroes. Starlass’ debuffs can be also resisted, but she might kill heroes with her damage alone. At lest no Toon Vivica around.
Thinking of something like Starlass-Ukkonen-Luna-LotL-Shacklebolt. Starlass is only lvl 85 though, but I guess she can survive in a wing position if I’m lucky. LotL is my usual rush tank and I’ve had great success with her, but I guess in a no-yellow tournament I’ll swap Luna to center instead.
It’s a rush tourney, and whatever defense I put out, it might survive long enough to press the “Skip Ads” button on YouTube. I might just try something and see how a 4* defense of Cyprian, Rigard, and Julian with Kalo and someone else, maybe Franz will do.
Looks like my tournament malaise is continuing this week. Partially it’s down to my stubbornness of not changing attack teams every match.
Last Rush tournament I had a lot of success with a team of Dabria - Ferrus - Ludwig - Uwe - Darkfeather, so decided to stick with it (replacing ineligible Dabria with Lysanor) regardless of tank colour. First match was against a Ludwig tank flanked by Cel and tDomitia. Should have brought in Xiaotu but decided to go for it. Opposing Ludwig fired before I could kill him and Cel’s minions just kept giving stoneskin. Only managed to kill the tank.
Won the next 3 and then lost again in the last match. Was a minion heavy team with Madhammer tank, Waterpipe flank, and Boom and Fang wing. Did bring in Xiaotu for Ferrus, but never got my Purple heroes charged. Madhammer just kept hammering away. Lysanor revived multiple heroes but not enough to prevent the zero.
Defense has started badly as well at 0-2. Going to be a tough week.
Day 2 started better than yesterday. Used the same attack team throughout of Lysanor - Ferrus - Ludwig - Uwe - Darkfeather. First 3 matches got 6 Purple tiles and quick, easy wins.
4th match was against a Darkfeather flanked by Pepperflame and Gestalt. This was down to who was going to charge his Darkfeather first. I came second and zero it was.
Last match was against a Kalo - Elba - tMagni - Demilune - Starlass defense. Thought I had this won, but a cascade into Starlass, the last remaining defender, and she hit my Lysanor who was charged up for 2200 hp.
Will buy back in tomorrow as my defense has improved to 2-2 and it’s only the start of Day 3. Lots of time to turn things around, and I’d much rather use my tournament flags for the daily PoV and PoG challenges rather than rummaging around my Watchtower.
And yet another 3-2 day This tournament it’s either 6 Purple tiles and win, or no 6 Purple tiles and you lose.
Today’s bane were Red tanks. Lost the 2nd match against a double Sparklight team with Moonflower as the other flank. The tank killed my 3 Purple heroes but Lysanor revived all of them. Didn’t stop to think of Moonflower’s special before firing all 3. That counter-punch from Moonflower killed all 3 again
The other loss came against a Black Caesar tank. His fiends are a real pain. Even with 2 healers in Darkfeather and Lysanor, I couldn’t get rid of them in time. Should have used Arco.
Hopefully it’s not another 3-2 day tomorrow as no way I’m buying back a 2nd time. Especially with a E (2-5) defense.
My attack team is doing great though! My regular bread and butter Hippo stack with Hippo-C2 Magni-Celimene with LotL and Starlass has proven to be unbeatable if I get the tiles, and I haven’t had a single loss with 0 points. The only thing to watch out is Superior Manashield so that Starlass won’t mana control herself.
Finally a good run of boards and 5 wins. Stayed with my 4 main attackers in Lysanor - ? - Ludwig - Uwe - Darkfeather. Switched up the last spot a bit more today. Used Xiaotu against a team with Bera and Augustus, and another defense that had Bo and Runt. Cardinal Richelieu proved so useful stealing Mena’s Fluff Volley that I used him similarly in war to good effect. His fiends also did well against a Ludwig tank.
Defense is still E but at least a chance at top 5% now.
Attack team was still phenomenal with no losses with 0 points, which is something special in this tournament. Defense is still at a pathetic E.
Offense: 20-5
Defense: E (I won’t even bother counting the losses manually)
Score: 21,455 (top 1%)
At position 3128 it’s quite possible I will end up in the top 1% after the final scores are calculated, but we shall see. It was pretty fun actually! Starlass is amazing.
4-1 on the last day to finish 18-7 for the tournament. Not bad considering the first 3 days. Today’s loss was a zero against an Acidfire tank. Once he fired twice and got my whole team reflecting their buffs, it was game over. Really need an offensive cleanser.
Almost lost the last match as well, but my lone Ferrus powered by Ludwig’s mana buff managed to kill the remaining Xiamara and Darkfeather in defense with his hp in the red zone.
Defense is D but might need to reach C to cling on to top 5%.
This tournament started very unlucky for me, because I finished the first day with a score of 3-2 in attack and 0-1 in defense.
At least it only got better after that (defense: E/B/B/A/?), although 4 of my 5 losses were worth 0 points…
yours is amazing compared to this… I was top 5% as well. No decent AM, aethers, no epic token… just vibes. Not worth the effort/time spent on the tournament at all
