Rant / OT: toons really broke PVP for me. It’s just not fun any more… they resist everything and have so much health that you simply have to use them yourself… and I really despise their design. This tournament will be another instance where they dominate everything… sad.
This will be an interesting tournament!
(I’m gonna level Shark before the tournament start)
Quick calculation(if someone is bored)
my tCaedmon base attack is 1211. He have Deepwood ent lvl 6 troop, which increases his attack by 9%(so 1211 ×1,09 = ~1320.
His aether power will give him +30% special boost(so he’ll hit for 380% instead of 350% for 6 turns.
Aether power will give him +20% attack(1320×1,20 = 1584).
If I’ll fire both cRigard and Shark, his attack will increase by +48%(cRigard), +80%(for tiles only, Shark), 30% for a crit, and +80% for everything(BB effect), so it’ll be 3612 for specials and 3149 for tiles (Shark’s cap). So he’ll hit around 1800 per special, and around 1200 ( ) per tile!
Yeah, it’s just that they drag out fights for ages and I really really don’t like that design. If I wanted to see Roger Rabbit toons in my game I‘d play candy crush or some other childish s###. The fact that they are so commonly used because of their stats and resistance is just the icing on the cake for me. These abominations are in every match now… triggers my sense of taste the wrong way…
But back to topic… Shark and two Gregs should be quite useful this time…
Or would it be better to use Boldtusk, Kiril or Rigard instead of Wilbur?
In the current setup, two cards have no chance of healing…
(Okay, I forgot about Cyprian’s paladin talent - but I would change the “corner” anyway… )
Started the tournament 4-1. Attacked with a team of c2Kiril - Greg - c2Rigard - tCaedmon - Greg. With mostly average speed heroes, a bit slower than my preferred style but once the 2 Gregs get their minions up, it’s usually a win.
Made a slight switch to the team today, using Kiril’s Toon costume instead of the Barbarian health booster. The Superior Jinx fits better for a Buff tournament.
Easy wins in the first 3 matches before facing the first tCyprian tank this week. The rest of the defense were also all Toons (Grimm - Boldtusk - Cyprian - Melendor - Kiril) even though there was just 1 hitter. Board was actually pretty good and got my Blues charged and fired. But made the mistake of continuing to make Blue matches into the riposte. The 2 Mega Minions perished quickly and without their protection, the buff powered slashes quickly killed most of my team. My tCaedmon actually survived into overtime due to his Thorn Minions but couldn’t do much against the 4 remaining defenders.
Got another tCyprian tank in the last match, this time flanked by Shar’Khai and tRigard. Was more careful this time and let the Mega Minions do their slash and bleed (when it wasn’t resisted) while charging my c2Rigard for the boost.
Most attacks have gone to overtime since many people like to bring 2 toon healers. I’ve been using the same attack team for every attack, consisting of Toon Melendor-Bonechill-Toon Grimm-Toon Kiril-C2 Caedmon. Many of my attacks have resulted in 2 hitters dying due to counterattack, and I think Bonechill has died every time. I’ve been considering changing Bonechill to Toon Sonya, but I’m having doubts if it would work any better. I haven’t been that lucky with boards, which is the main problem.
