I think I was 99th once in another tournament by day 3 or 4. Most likely a 5* one because I do my best there (probably rush). But never a final standing and definitely not at the end of a tournament. I’m not expecting to end in first, but that would be super cool!

I’m not fond of the mini Lianna, she’s not as useful as Cillian and Aodhan. She is very lackluster even for a 4*. I swap her out for X. Dun when I face riposte enemies. Or Caedmon/Sonya (not LB) if I think it’ll work out in my favor

I should pay some attention to names before I do my hits. One of my 2 losses on attack through 4 days was to the defense of @JekylandHyde !
It was yesterday, and I am struggling to remember why I lost. I would have recorded it had I noticed!
Another frustrating week for my defense. I lost my only defense Monday without any more attacks so far this week, so E grade every day. I’m tempted to level up my 2 and 3 star troops to see if I get attacked more with them maxed.

. Really it was the board more than the defense since I went with X. Dun instead of Caedmon (no blues at all). That was an error on my end smh. So long dreams of number 1

Bleh, the curse continues.

This was the team I lost against. Took 2 counters against Ferant and even that wasn’t enough. I took team of Kiril, Griffin, CB Grimm, CB Sonya, CB Rigard. I was only able to charge Rigard before ferant fired first time. If I took C Sabina instead, I’d have higher chances to win, but who was supposed to know the board is gonna be full of red and green… Not being able to charge 2 fast heroes of different colors which counter Ferant is a sign of an awful board… I was able to kill just Ferant, so I didn’t loose with 0. But to be perfectly honest I should have taken C Sabina as I already had a counter against def down of Vlad with Kiril, so Rigard was kind of useless in that team… Oh well. I really don’t care about tourney loot that much anymore, but just once a nice offense of 25-0 would be great…

Another perfect run for me

Go with same tactic. Still face many S1 defense. The board is average to pretty good today so 5 win . Face 2 Ferant tank today.
One in 2nd attack but no any LB heroes so, pretty easy to kill tank
And another one in the last attack
The one is pretty strong defense but my x3 dispeller work well. After I get blue diamond and kill tank, everything is easy after that

Get exactly same rank to yesterday after do all attack at around the middle of the leader board. But I don’t think it gonna hold

Seem to stay between A and B grade cut off.
I actually fall off the leader board at the end of day 4 because of only B grade defense for 2 day. With B grade defense for another I think I will miss the leader board by a bit because of the defense again .

That is why I take 3 counter not 2
But believe it or not, sometimes, even 3 counters aren’t enough if the board really don’t want you to win .
But(2) wait a minute, what is your 2nd counter beside Sonya. Griffin ?
Griffin is ok but dispeller is much better. I think you will win if you replace Griffin with C Melendor and CB Rigard with C(or CB) Sabina .
In fact, C Melendor (and Cillian) are MVP for me. Dispeller + flip def down is very useful.

The team had 3 passive heroes, so I think I only needed 2 healers in my offense team. Yes, not taking C Sabina was a big mistake a realized during the fight. It happens… I’m not perfect player 
.
I needed 3 heroes which deal some damage because Ferant was flanked by 2 healers. So that’s why Griffin not C Mel, but I should have had also both CB Sonya and C Sabina in the team definitely… I mostly do take 3 counters against him. Griffin is not perfect counter but he is counter as he bypasses counterattack with snipe.
Don’t have any Slayer hero, so no Cillian.

I understand you. I actually try something like that before and it doesn’t work well when the board is pretty bad. Here is why.
Griffin hit hard but him alone can’t kill Ferant. You still need blue tile anyway. Griffin doesn’t heal, so he doesn’t make you live longer if he can’t kill tank. So, Sabina or Melendor is better than him.
You have x3 blue in your team. That is enough to kill tank. In fact, only x2 is enough if they are strong color. If you bring x3 dispeller, you don’t have to kill him before he fire. He may fire many times but it is very likely that you can dispell them all.
You can use Proteus instead he is powerful as well even not as powerful as Cillian.
If I were you, I will go with C Kiril - CB Sonya - CB Sabina - Proteus - C Melendor. You have C Melendor to counter Frank, so you can use C Kiril. I prefer CB Sabina over C Sabina as I need instant heal when the board is bad and CB Sabina is tougher than C Sabina .

Well I don’t have C Kiril either. But what you said makes sense. I do sometimes use 2-1-1-1 line-ups, not that often as I use 3-1-1, but I can play with it.
The mindset of mine is mostly like - green shouldn’t be taken against red, etc. so C Mel is green so I won’t take him against red tank, what is of course stupid, because around a month ago my alliance faced Red tanks, and a lot of Ferant and my team with C Mel won. Though in war I don’t have luxury of possible use of 3 dispellers/counters agaisnt Ferant, because I’ll run out of all the counters fast, so I have to take ‘just’ 2 against 1 Ferant team in war.
Proteus is also that kind of hero that has very weak defense, even though I got 2 at +20 and 1 is LB with def/hp route. He often never fires when I take him, heroes in defense very often pick up Proteus to kill first for some reason…
My Griffin is LB +19 full attack route (923 attack total) and he is a beast finisher mainly in 4* tourneys though I even use him in war very often, as purple tanks are everywhere. And I find him to be such a fun hero to use. I often use him against Ferant defs with other counters and I like him. He can deal up to 500-600 something damage average to 4* hero, so he can be great finisher even for Ferant that fired his special, if there are no blue tiles around.
I often fire him every attack, but I didn’t even fire him on that loose .

@NewGuy143 and @Roland56: dang-I hate those losses for you. So close. I think it takes some serious luck to make it to 25-0 without a board so bad you almost cannot win.
@u2371 I really like what you are saying here, and it does have the potential to overcome those awful boards. I love playing 3:2 as a general rule, but against riposte tanks (or others that just really need to be dispelled), I am definitely going to try bringing three different colored dispellers. I agree on C. Mel being the boss of this tournament. I love him in general and here he is incredible.

My hopes of a top 100 finish disappeared with a consistently board against this team.
It really wasn’t that strong of a team, I just could not find any holy or blue tiles. Oh well.
Honorable mention goes to this team where Skittleskull gave me fits but I still was able to win. At least is wasn’t the candy goblin version!

I’m one of those lucky ones for which the tournament was very easy. I lost one battle against this team

but it was just a bad luck

A drama free 5-0 last day to finish 23-2 for the tournament.
Toughest match was against a Franz tank with Gullinbursti flank. Went with Anton - Brynhild - cCaedmon - cRigard - Anastasia in attack. Didn’t get many greens and Franz fired, but I had cRigard ready for the cleanse. The Green tiles finally came and Anton and cCaedmon buffed by Brynhild killed off the tank and hurt the others enough for Anastasia’s fiends to finish the job.
Last match was against a 4 healer + right wing Wu Kong similar to the one that I had a zero against on Day 2. This time I brought 4 dispellers and again cSabina got her diamond 
. Just took my time picking off the healers one at a time.
Defense is at 7-5 (B) and hasn’t been attacked in more than a day. Might just hold on to top 1%

Been busy so here’s the results for all 5 days:
Day 1: O 5-0, D 2-0. A bunch of red tanks where I used Sonya(cb), Jott, Kiril(cb). Yeah Jott just because those 3 are my only emlemed and lb’d 4* blue heroes currently I really should max Saphire atleast… And I really, really want that Chinese 4* blue guy. Other 2 heroes I used were cSabina and Ametrine, I actually brought them pretty much in every fight, Ametrine is just so good with that dispell at that speed. 1 Azmia tank faced, where I used 3 greens and those 2 darks: Buddy, Anton, cMelendor. For Buddy pretty much the same reason as for Jott, I don’t have other options currently maxed in green 4*s, except for Franz but I think he is a bit too slow to use in this tournament.
Day 2: O: 9-1, D: 2-0. Did a mistake by not switching cSabina and Ametrine out when faced cRigard as a tank, only got him out after a lucky cascade in the end, otherwise would’ve netted me 0 points. So not too lucky with yellow tiles, I used Griffin, Mist, D’Andre. Did not do the same mistake again bringing darks against dark tanks for the rest of the tournament. For green tanks I used Cillian-g.Falcon-Boldtusk(cb), even if it was Kashhrek.
Day 3: O: 14-1, D: 3-0
Day 4: O: 19-1, D: 5-1
Day 5: O: 24-1, D: 5-1. After finishing my last tournament hit I was placed #104, now at #108. That top 100 was so close yet again! Total points 19683.
