Been playing since June 2023. Having a blast.
I get spooked when I go to level break and see the “this can’t be undone” message about materials needed. So are there really times when you should t level break a hero?
I use Balthazar all the time. He’s my best purple. Still pretty new here. Are aether balls/orbs/crystals hard to get more of? Should I be saving them for later?
Any insights are most appreciated.

I have him even LB2, I’m 51 lvl F2P.
Use him everywhere, wars, tournaments, maps, quests. He is very useful, especially as a dispeller.
Edit: I have him LB also on my 34 lvl alt. Don’t regret.

Best purple 3* and not particularly difficult to get, as SG love throwing 3* at us.
If you have plenty of materials, do Balthazaar as well, but keep enough resources for Treevil because when you get him you’ll want to level him fast. I have a 2LB one and another at 1LB.

11 months on my ftp account and i dont have tree. Specific 3*s from challenge portals are not that easy to get
I think the mats to lb a 3* are so minor that if you use him regularly its well worth doing the lb

I think that LB must be considered not necessarily for the hero, but for the use we make of them.
Since you use him a lot, LB him ! he definitely worth it, as he is a excellent 3* anyways !

You always need rares and you need to be able to build up your roster. Go ahead and power up that Balthazar if it helps you get better and go farther in tournaments and raids etc. Rares don’t take many emblems and limit breaking doesn’t take much either. So go for it if it will help you. Do what you need to to be able to get finish the ascension material quests even if you don’t need telescopes etc now you will later.
