The boss stats are too high. They should be lower.
Just the last few stages were to hard. Only those need rebalancing.
The boss skills were too OP. They need to be tuned down in the event as a boss.

If you think Update Costume Quest is well-balanced, too hard, or too easy — why?
Do you think that the Rewards are good enough or they are not enough — why and what would you change ?
Are there specific, concrete suggestions you’d make to the game designers to alter Updated Costume Quest ? Or are there specific reasons you think they should remain unchanged?
Purpose of this thread:
To provide an aggregate place for the topic here on the forum; thus preventing there being a million threads popping up. And to provide an actual set of impartial votes rather than a #ideas-feature-requests which has no real voting.
In short, to neaten the forum and to give players and outlet for their thoughts on this event’s balance without bogging down the rest of the forum or the other Updated Costume Quest topics.
Votes should be anonymous. People who vote “It’s too easy and it should be harder” will immediately be seen as deranged or idiotic and it isn’t right.
Quest is certainly more difficult than before. If rewards were improved I’d be fine with it.
The quest is hard but far from the hardest thing in game.
It feels like SG wants to punish us without a benefit for the struggle. I’m quite okay with insanely hard levels, if rewards are increased for the whole event.
They could have kept the rewards from the previous quest for the first 10 levels, and then added some new, reasonable rewards for the last 5, e.g. additional keys. That way the rewards are not worse for newer players, and there’s something more challenging for experienced players in the last levels. Win-win.
I think the required WE for each stage was okay but I’d really like to see it in a Challenge Event format of rare difficulty , epic difficulty and legendary difficulty and give everything a better share of the keys.
Perhaps have a 5* aether for completing legendary but at least give the lower level players a good chance to earn the keys for a minimum of two summons.
SG don’t forget - If you want to deliver some fun and keep coming new players/money who can enforce their S1 Heroes (in front of a large amount of more and more stronger event Heroes) - what is not easy considering the odds - COSTUME CHAMBER IS THE PLACE !!!
Voted too hard mainly because… It was an existing event meant to balance s1 heroes. 10 keys should be obtainable in a comparable fashion given this was an existing event, new harder stages could be bonus with more rewards and provide a challenge.
They are hard in that the basic attacks deal so much damage. Makes it hard to build up healing and setup before bosses which also makes me question the recommended power, I think their strength doesn’t match the recommendation.
Really think is is the worst place to put power creep when costumes are described as the balance solution. Make new events challenging and hard like the upcoming elemental quests. This… Let the cheap and free players get the keys theyve always earned, and really 2x keys isn’t a big deal cause the event went from every monthly to every other month. So there was already a half reduction in half keys from the quest rotation.
Costumes were, as I recall, introduced as a way to buff S1 heroes that had been left behind by the power creep of newer heroes. They were, naturally, put behind a paywall because … SG. But at least the players who could benefit the most from this – f2p – could still work hard and complete the quests to be able to do a few pulls every event. The whales who can afford to spend on this portal are the ones less in need of the S1 hero buffs.
Now the “updated” costume quest is out and it has become much harder to finish, meaning it is now of less benefit to the players who had the most to gain from it. I have been playing this game for 4-1/2 years (pseudo f2p) and I seriously doubt I will finish it. So the event has become even more p2w.
From what I saw in the last couple stages I finished the biggest issue is the mobs hit too hard. I can cope with the bosses ok if I can just get to them with my full team, but if I need to use a ton of items just to get that far then the payoff of dupe 3* costumes is JUST NOT WORTH IT!!
SG took what was to me an ok event and made it crap. Call me bitterly disappointed.
Ok after completing it on my 2 accounts I think event is harder, but still possible to complete using items like mana pots and time-stops. What is not ok it’s of course rewards. More keys are obvious choice but if not that it should be some chests like in towers for completing levels 5, 10, 15 with chance for 4* AM.

The quest is obviously more difficult than the previous costume quest …
But for me personally I am ok with that because we need to ensure that quests are achievable but also challenging. What is the point of a game if players continually post that they cleared a trial or a quest on auto play using the same team…
However, I need to stress that these quests need to be achievable for lots of players… the last three levels of the quest as it currently stands will present all sorts of problems and difficulties for newish to medium term players - in my opinion. So these really do need to be toned down / made easier…
And for all players SG really does need to improve the rewards. Keep the trainers but increase the keys, perhaps throw in some mats like trap tools, globes, shields etc and maybe even some aethers starting low finishing high …
And I think someone has already said what about considering rare, epic and legendary levels?

I think that it is challenging but I’m not mad about that. I think if they are going to keep it at this difficulty then they need to increase the rewards. Give newer players something to aim for and make it worth it for veteran players to complete it. More keys, add emblems or aethers or something, just make the effort worth it because at the moment it is not, in my opinion.
Alternatively, keep the current rewards as is but make the quest a bit easier. Those last 5 stages especially are ridiculously dificult for what you get.
I failed stage 11. This is beyond stupid. You guys failed to bad with this update to costume quest. For example, my Krampus, pictured above, who has costume bonus and 15 emblems (all def/hp) and a level 25 troop was killed in one shot by Joon’s special. He had his taunt ability on with a massive increase to defense too. Oh, he was also full hp. I made sure cuz I knew he was gonna get hit. This stage is rated for 4600. My team power was just shy of 4800. You guys screwed this up very badly and I’m very upset about it. Fix it. NOW.
It’s all wrong. Mobs and bosses are all overpowered. It’s not fun. It’s not rewarding. It’s against the purpose of this event. You’re screwing me out of resources, time, a summon, world energy, and angering me. If I don’t see a response from you within a day or so I’m gone for good. I’m tired of how much you have ruined this game.
