Titan Team: Fire -- need help on who to include

Reaching out to see if I can get some help with my Fire Titan team… I just can’t seem to do much damage with what I thought would be a good team, so I thought I’d get a second opinion, so I’m setting up a voting poll with some of the heroes I thought would be “good” for that team.

The list shows the hero plus the “feature” on why to include. Who would you NOT include on the team

  • Guardian Falcon – Elemental Defense Down
  • Wilbur Costume – Attack up 100% and can be combined with other attack up
  • Gormek – Defense Down 34%
  • Boldtusk – Attack up 48% and healing
  • Cardinal Richelieu – hero with highest attack amount (1294)
  • Guardian Gazelle – Attack up 100%
0 voters

For reference, I currently do:
Boldtusk – Guardian Falcon – Guardian Gazelle – Gormek – Cardinal Richelieu
Note: I haven’t levelled up Wilbur’s costume yet, but would probably swap in him for Guardian Gazelle when I do.

Here is who I have for alternatives if you think I missed someone.

Thanks in advance for any help you may have.

Drop Gormek and replace him with standard Wilbur. Wilbur gives -44% Def. Gormek only gives -34%

If hitting 12* or lower titans then replace Gazelle with Shar’Khai. The critical chance from Shar’Khai is more useful than some realise and the attack boost from Bodltusk will actually be useful as this is curently blocked by Gazelle’s dance.

I can’t see any 3* heroes. Do you happen to have Buster? If yes then pop him in in place of Cardinal Richelieu.

So, if you have Buster and you’re fighting 12* or lower titans then your team should look like this:
Wilbur, G.Falcon, Boldtusk, Buster, Shar’Khai

If no Buster then it should look like this:
Wilbur, G.Falcon, Boldtusk, Cardinal Richelieu, Shar’Khai

If fighting above 12* titans then Gazelle will help to keep your team alive or you could continue using Shar’Khai and bring a defensive banner (Turtle Banner, Dragon Banner or Titan Banner) to help. Also if you are going to bring a Dragon or Titan Banner you could swap out Boldtusk for your next highest attack stat red.

Let us know how it goes and I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the detailed response!

Some more info that might be helpful:

  1. My alliance typically goes after 12* and 13* titans
  2. I’ve got a pretty good comprehensive list of 3* heroes.
However, I’m finding that my 4* heroes are getting close to two shot killed a LOT, so didn’t think 3* heroes would have a chance. I’ll try Buster with a 12* and see how it goes though.

Thanks again!

Just hurry up and do Wilbur, it´s a 4 star costume and you can use him before he´s all the way maxed anyway.

Gazelle counteracts all your other buffs, so don´t use her with buffing heroes, so she´s out.

Boldtusk can be replaced with a banner, so you can replace the second best attack stat/skill hero as well.

If you have a second Wilbur, you can use both versions together and get rid of Gormek (Wilbur has stronger DD). Or check Eichelborg, the DD may be better as well (dn´t have the number in my head).

Altogether though, your only real mistake is mixing Gazelle with buffing heroes, otherwise nothing major.

So things to check out in regards of your low titan score:
First figure out what low means. Then check:

  1. Too high expectations? Possibly mismatching titan size?
  2. Use better items? Valuable items/Tactical items?
  3. Skill at actually playing the titan? Speed/Tile Play/Item usage?
  4. Use a longer time series to avg out luck.

Yes Buster is a must! No discussion.

I use him on 14 star titans lol and I also use other 3 star heroes, I do LB those high enough to survive 1 hit, that is all that is necessary. Lot´s of heroes will not survive a second hit. No point getting half way there.

This 100 percent! My red hit on green titan ballooned when Buster came into the picture. With a frequent Alphas coming up, no shame in 2LBing him. Cheers!

Everyone is saying to use Buster for the increased damage %, but I’ve been using Zarga for this. Would Buster be better? Zarga has a higher att stat and once her bleed starts to take effect, the increased damage stacks up to 50% and persists rather than expires after 4 turns like Buster’s

The attack stat only applies to tiles of Zarga. Buster boosts the tiles of all the red heroes you use. Why not use both?

Zarga is a good shout. Didn’t see Zarga in the OP though. However, unless you plan to use Zarga in other areas it would be a waste to level them just for use against green titans. Buster would use a lot less materials.

If you have Zarga maxed already, which it sounds like you do, then Zarga is the better option. I do think they might stack though. If they do then you could be looking at upto 90% increased damage.

Red is my most “budget” lineup for Titans, but I still do decent enough damage using several of the same heroes you have. I’d use both Wilburs (if you have 2 of him leveled up), one for defense debuff and the costume for the attack boost. Elemental defense debuff is huge, so definitely use Guardian Falcon (upgrading to Colen’s second costume eventually would help, too). Then round it out with Buster and Zarga and use Bear Banners for attack buffing, if you can spare the healing, or Boldtusk if you can’t (pots and the shared damage/defense buff from Wilbur might be enough to keep you alive).

Zarga does stacks, Buster does an ailment, so you can do both if you want to and have an open slot on your team that otherwise fill no function. But Buster is the important one, if you only have space for one of them.

The problem with Zarga is, that´s stacks and they only accumulate 1 (5%) per turn, so it takes forever to get anywhere with it. Of course if you play titans like maps or whatever and just play turn after turn after turn and bring healers to heal yourself up in betweeen and lalala and whatnot, then yes that is a good option. But that is not how you get high scores in titans.
For high scores in titans you don´t need a lot of turns, instead you focus all your damage in a few turns, really most of the time, most of the damage comes in 1 single turn, but you need a few turns to work yourself into a position to do all that. Meaning you need those turns to: 1. Charge all your heroes and 2. Setup the board for a big combo or diamond or just generally lots of tiles in your color. Then you activate all your specials and then you throw those tiles into the titan doing about 10k damage (that part obviously varies depending on the heroes you have available) per tile.

So if you have Zarga you would want to fire her early (use mana potions), so she can trickle in those stacks during the time where you charge everybody and do the board setup. And really you don´t need her all that much anymore after that one skill activation. Of course her attack stat contributes to the tile damage and a second activation might give you a few more stacks, but it seems unlikely you get much more than 1 round of stacks…
