[Master Discussion| - Legendary Troops and Legendary Troop Portal

Might need an update then… that can continue leveling the troop to 40.

I was surprised they stopped at 30 since that’s the same cap as epic troop.

Take it to 40 and pump that mana speed up. Get that train rolling coal.

There’s definitely an argument for using 5* troops to boost LB2 4* heroes, especially the double costumed S1s.

LB2 c2Cyprian with a level 30 Druid troop

LB1 c2Caedmon with a level 30 Rogue troop

It was L50 with 15% in the first round of beta, then dropped to L30 with 11% mana. Such an odd number for a troop intended to surpass existing epic troops.

It’s pretty obvious that Zynga already have a legendary troop business strategy in place.

This is my guess:

Test as L50, then L30.
Release as L30.
One pair every 28 days or maybe monthly.
5 months to cover all 10 classes.

Start allowing LB to L35 with 12% mana
Start with Cleric / Fighter or release brake for all 10 classes
5 months or maybe 6 months

Next level LB to L40 with 13% mana
Repeat as it was for L35.
Another 5 to 6 months

Ditto for L45 with 14% mana.
Another 5 to 6 months

Last LB to L50 with 15% mana.
After 20 to 24 months.

Steady stream of revenue for next 2 years from 2024 (turning 7 on 28/2/24) to 2026 (would be 9 years then) from troop sales or troop ascension/LB sales.

Zynga definitely has something in mind. Maybe not as specific as my guess but would be similar.

How else can Zynga continue to squeeze money from player base ?

Or once they go through the first rotation just release MORE (newnew) legendary troops with 15%/20% mana and different class ability…

I think they will do that instead…just like heros…if you don’t like the 11% mana don’t worry because there will be…

Never ending supply of NEW legendary troops…of course getting slightly better with each new set of releases

100% this will happen!

Does anyone know how they came up with the class pairs? I mean why only 50? Why not pair every class with every other class? Sorry if it’s already answered - been a long day and my mind is fuzzy.

Because they plan to release a constant steady supply of legendary troops…need to save other combinations…different stats(HINT: more mana 15%/20%) and different class abilities…always a little better than the previous set of course…

This scenario is also possible. Same path they took with Critical and Mana, then Magic/Styx troops.

They can issue 5* Magic/Styx troops with 15% mana to revive those 2 event troop portals. And disallow conversion to force players to punt for the upgraded 5* Magic/Styx troops if they want to get 15% plus beefy stats. Plus only allow gems to get them. ETT only gets player epic troops at best.

Only setback I see with this scenario is that revenue stream will start strong then taper off when spenders have secured the troops they need/want.

Versus a steady stream of revenue with LB troops, as it is now with hero progression.

Most game dev prefer a steady revenue stream unless they have plans to shut down a game.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but would it be wiser to bring up a Ninja troop to lvl 26 instead of converting your mana troop?

I was more concerned about the reasons for choosing specific legendary units. I’m currently using a purple tank (Uthragan) so I chose purple ones. Unfortunately, I never use him in attack, so I chose a class that doesn’t suit him (palladin) because the purple I use most often is Shar’Khai

Has anyone else raised the fact that it’s annoying you can’t see how many tokens/pulls you have left in this portal - not sure if this is a bug or intended?

There is a bug thread for it

Depends on your troop roster.

If you can’t spare mana troops for conversion, then I would use critical then ninja troops.

Also depends on what levels your spare troops are at.

If your ninja is 1 and your spare mana is at 20, it would be faster to push that mana troop to 26.

Can someone help me out with the actual math on the new Legendary Troops? Are the boosts that are present on their card the actual boosts to other stats, or are they simply the boosts that you get. I pulled Unwavering Clerics. At level 1, their stats are: 14, 15, 17, 5. Are those the actual and ONLY boosts to my hero that I get, or are these added on to other stats? I know this sounds confusing, but I am confused. If this is the case, what are the benefits of these troops over the regular 5 types of troops we’ve been playing with? I’m sure I overlooked something. Hypothetical case, since I don’t have any level 26 troops yet. I do have a level 19 Magic troop. What are the benefits of converting this troop and losing my 14% mana generation to drop back down to 5%? (I know to convert a troop they have to be level 26. I’m just presenting a hypothetical.) Thank you!

The troops all work the same way where they provide a multiplicative boost to a hero’s base stats.

A level 30 legendary troop has similar attack and defense to a level 30 mana troop. If you look at the portal an unstoppable fighter has 24% attack and 23% defense. A mana troop in the same portal has 26% and 18% respectively.

Mana troop maxes at 15% mana versus 11% for legendary.

The big difference is legendary troop gets 25% hp instead of healing.

And then if you apply the troop to a hero of one of the two classes you get a further stat boost.

As for whether you should convert it depends on if you have the resources to level and can withstand the drop in mana gain to 11%.

Based on all of the math above I don’t consider a legendary troop more valuable than the conversion until the mid twenties.

Excellent overview. This is very helpful. Thank you very much!

I think making your choice based on the hero you use the most is a good one. That’s what I did as well. I got a Rogue troop for Ferrus as I use him for Titans, Challenge Events, and Towers. Though I might regret it a bit since there are now questions whether they will be allowed in Challenge Events or Towers.

Edit : Still have Green level 17 Styx, Magic, and Mana troops so not a total loss of that level 26 Mana troop that was converted

In this case just go with experience. When was the last time we got good odds for anything to summon? Can’t remember? Well, won’t change this time
