šŸ‘‘ Knights of Avalon: Black Knight ā€“ Thoughts & Discussion

The Knight used to be my absolute favourite. He used to be my tank.

But (as a long time user) I donā€™t know why he gets such high marks in defense. Heā€™s not that hard to beat. I do it all the time. Mine has moved to flank position but I would like to take him out of defense eventually. Heā€™s not aggressive enough for me.

I still love him. Offensively he really shines! He sucks up all the badness thrown at your team, allowing your guys to do their jobs with boost. Itā€™s like creating an attack window.

I think heā€™s definitely better with timing control.

Ok Iā€™m sorry if I missed this. Just raided against him. He blocked Grimble. I didnā€™t think that was part of his power. Was it supposed to do this?

Yes, when BK special goes off it gives him taunt for 3 turns that wonā€™t allow enemy specials to affect his teammates. However, BK himself can get affected, but he still has a 50% chance to drop any damage to 1 while the taunt is active.

So if his taunt is active you can either hold off on the special until the 3 turns is up or you can throw it at him anyway knowing that there is a 50% chance that it does nothing.

And all the while his attack buff is putting your heroes in serious danger :+1:t2:

Iā€™m disliking BK the more I play him.

Whenever I face him on defense, heā€™s a pita.

Whenever I use him in wars, he either dies or opposing heroes are pretty successful bypassing his taunt if he does fire.

Then only use him on defense? Iā€™ve found the same myself - great on defense (or so I assume), but hate using him on offense.

Bring dispel.

Sonya is his baneā€¦ With costume bonus, her stats hold up well enough to 5* fights.

I donā€™t struggle facing himā€¦ Though AoE heroā€™s taking advantage of his beserk will destroy you on a bad board.

.

On attackā€¦ Put him together with Wilbur.
Using spirit link ratchets that beserk up to 145% more often than not (especially in Telluria meta - minions really help this tactic!).

I have always run this with Guardian Kong - especially now with cleanse, this is a really powerful combo (actually, I have two of him - run both and youā€™re Vela-proof whether BK fires before her or not, fire one for cleanse if you need it and save the other to smash their teeth out).

With any of this, AoE takes most advantage of the attack boost.
Snipers overkill, AoE heroes can wipe the screen clear. Quite literally.

Iā€™m not saying this to be rude, but rethink tactics - heā€™s one of the best offense heroā€™s in the game.

I agree completely. See earlier postā€¦

Also if you want to beat him in a tank position you can just dump your tiles into him. Heā€™ll eventually go down. The flesh wound is rare (too rare :worried:) and in taunt mode heā€™s attackable.

If you can get him fired early in offense though with some good synergyā€¦ Wow.

Eh, I know folks like and use him there. Just heroes I like better in his place!

Have you got Wilbur?

And powerful AoE heroes?

Put it altogether and itā€™s immensely powerfulā€¦

.

Running him without Wilbur as a stall while snipers do the killing looks like itā€™d work, but it often doesnā€™t.

Run with Wilbur and AoE (not snipe!) and he suddenly makes more sense on attackā€¦

I actually like using him with snipers against some teams. One of my gotos is Tyr, seshat, BK, Grazul, Kage. Wilbur and Kong typically get paired with my Khiona for the same idea however.

Khiona+Wilbur also does great - you canā€™t provoke most attacking defenders as risk-free as you can with BK.

Heā€™s okay with fast/vfast attackers but you need extra healing in there to back up the beefā€¦

Back when I was pushing hard, that BK+Wilbur with 2 AoE and a healer (I used Kong, Isarnia, Mok, sometimes with White Rabbit) was a team setup that could win even against the nastiest defences with a very good win%.
This took me way up into global top ten on numerous occasions.

This is true. BK saved my red stacks from the wrath of Vela and Telly in raids many times.

I dig my BK, and I want to emblem him, however:

Itā€™s always bothered me how red has best tank stats.
Andā€¦
Blue has such high attack stats. Even the healers!

I think we donā€™t see red tank success because this.
One-on-One: red looks hot. That 20 blem BK :flushed::point_up_2:
Wooooo, Smoking!

But itā€™s never a fair fight. Who brings one blue to a red tank line-up?
You donā€™t need full mono blue to rip-up a red tank. This issue could also be playing into green success. Red snipers with high health and armorā€¦

I suppose itā€™s surprising that a green meta took this long to saddle-up.

So I feel like the flank is a better spot for BK to drive up a more successful defensive win ratio.

I just like my flanks and wings to deliver damage tho

One of these days, I would like to dive head first into the fire tank pool. Just not 100% about the reward.
Seems like historically we keep finding the ratio gets smeared.
When Ares came there was a spike that dwindled. When BK came there was a spike that dwindled.

Blue is just too attack stacked!

I have my BK in +19. Amazing hero, not only on defense.
I have used him in tank and flank and I think he is a great Telly flank. Better than tank.

Youā€™ll never regret giving him emblems.

Unless you have GM lol

I have not that luck, but if today I had GM, Iā€™d never remove BK emblems.
Iā€™m not impressed by GM. And I donā€™t know he is so incredible on attack.
But IMO this is a matter of taste.

One word: speed. Ghosting 1 match to do as much damage as he does is incredible. I have him with BK too, but BK is tough enough to excel on offense without emblems. Boosting GMā€™s damage, however, is downright deadly.
