While defences will still stay rainbow, the attack teams for sometime has been colour staking against : Tank - Flank combo with mono, 4-1, 3-2 most times while facing a higher TP team in raids, wars, tournaments !
However, feel, starting with Starfall, Slayers & now Magic heroes the attack meta is moving towards a more 3-2, 3-1-1, 2-2-1, 2-1-1-1 & maybe even a good number of plays being rainbow…

the 2021 : S4 & new event heroes / HoTMs pack multiple specials :
a. 1/2 passives,
b. Family bonus,
c. Class bonus
&
d. Main specials (which can be upto 2/3/…)
That is a LOT of specials = a SINGLE hero can do minimum 5, which increases upto 8/9 things !
2021 heroes : apart from high tile damage, can hit hard, heal, revive, cleanse, dispel, buff, debuff & +++

I think it’ll have a minimal effect as color stacking will always be more advantageous that rainbow on attack. I feel 3-2 is still going to be the dominate stacking combo for a long time unless SG takes drastic changes with future heroes.
The benefit the Magic Tower heroes have for other elements is still not enough to significantly affect Color Stacking meta IMO.
People who,love mono will keep raiding mono. Remember that a lot of the HOTM have those elemental links which encourage color stacking. These new magic heroes passive abilities definitely reward those that don’t color stack such as Motegas 50% chance to heal all of your non-holy members. The HOTM are much more prevalent than these new heroes will be plus raiding mono does make it a lot easier to just bulldoze your way through a match against an overwhelming defense which are all over the Diamond section of raiding. So I don’t think it will do that much to change their approach
Mono still work best for me and since we can see what team enemy used to attack I see that almost all rainbow attacks are losing against my def. Mono and 4-1 are most common winers.
I personally play 3-2 and I don’t see me chansing that any time soon. It’s not so much about tile damage. It’s more about having 3 or 2 heroes fire same turn. Meaning that I can take advantage those speacials boosting each other.
So while many people get upset (understandably) at the sheer volume of 5* heroes released in the last year, the upside is that the combinations of specials across each colour has drastically increased. So building a rainbow (or close) team in offense allows some really excellent synergies. It obviously depends on your roster, but I feel it is more reliable for me to use at least 3 colours in my team than going 3-2. It really doesn’t matter what the starting board gives you as you can work with it.
I had a rainbow team yesterday in war and the board… It wasn’t bad… But it was one of those situations where the ai just got really lucky. I’d get one to charge… Bam sniped and dead… Rinse and repeat until i was ready to crap myself. So… No such thing as a bad board with rainbow… But man… That was as close as it gets.
I was always against rainbow raiding, for two reasons. First, tile damage is non existent, so matches only aim to charge skills, not hurt the eneny. And second, skills take forever to charge, even for fast teams. Of course, you will, most times charge one hero fast, but for me, the real advantage of stacking is that you get to charge three or more heroes at the same time, witch is a lot harder to accomplish with a rainbow team.
Anyway, now that my interest in this game has fallen to new lows, as I only sign in mostly for base mantenance reasons, like collecting ham and iron, leveling some obscure useless heroes and so, I switched to rainbow raiding for about a month or so, out of boredom. Truth is, I didn’t notice any major change. I still win and lose based on the board I get. Sometimes my team charges is time, sometimes it doesn’t. Of course, some enemies, featuring latest paywall heroes, are a lot more punishing than others, further reducing victory ods on a less than perfect board. My take after 4 years and 18k raid wins? In raiding, the most important thing is the board you get. Second comes your roster depth and third, your knowledge of the game mechanics.
Here the base of my 2/1/1/1… Sometimes hanitra… Sometimes viscaro… Maybe sabina I’d i need to dispel. Just costume yunan… 33% mana boost over 5 turns and Xnolphod’s 20% bump… It turns my slow heroes into very fast… And motega’s first charge into 3 tiles… It’s crazy. Hanitra can also go off in 3 tiles.
