Is there a net gain for doing 3-4 monster chests a day? (I mean, counting the gem costs for hurrying chests…)

At start there’s many things to gain gems from, invites, free vip, Missions, mv, mercing, leveling, timing those chest resets and fill them up quickly. When I started i could get 3 elemental chests within 8 days, they paid out between 30-50 gems, can reset a lot of chests from just those gems alone. Those elemental chests not so common anymore, but MV is every two hours now instead of 8. It makes up for some of it

I have never seen anything even vaguely like 1 elemental chest per week… nor will I probably ever.

I really don’t see the upside to paying gems to rush chests, given that monster and raid chests are almost uniformly terrible, and even elemental chests almost at-best ever have maybe 30 gems and 20-30 emblems. Rushing a chest starts at 20 gems, so even waiting until the cost is “only” 10 gems seems a poor investment for a regular chest that might yield 2-5 gems in return. Rushing 5-6 chests could easily cost more gems than an elemental chest even contains, and it’s gonna take more than 5 or 6 chests to get a new elemental chest.

Plus there are opportunity costs:

  • if I’m constantly chasing monster chests, I’m sinking all my world energy into farming S 1 8-7 or suchlike forever, forget about advancing PvE generally or quests or anything
  • if I’m constantly chasing raid chests, well (A) I don’t even like raiding and (B) actually winning 16 raids a day (or earning enough partial credit from an even larger total number of raids) is a tall order for me (much less with a limited roster, see below)
  • if I’m plowing all my gems into chasing chests, I’m not getting anything else with gems, like roster space or, I don’t know, summons (which can very definitely be the real bottleneck for a f2p or even vc2p account)

It’s way, way too easy for this game to turn into a job that pays nothing or pays negative. Constantly chasing chests sounds like choosing to turn it into a job from day 1 to me.

The nice thing is you cant rudh do many chests every day!
If you pay 10-20 gems to rush a chest a few hours early, there is a cool down timer until you can use gems again. I think the maximum is to get 3 chests of each in 24h.
To rush monster chests is almost non sense, there a a few exceptions: shape of one or two hours to get a chest in time before you rest maybe. If you fill your (monster) chests fast, you can get two chests in 24h every day of the week. Once or twice a week you have to readjust by speeding up a chest with one or two gems, nothing more.
Speeding up heto chests is only of limited use, you should be in diamond arena when opening or the loot is not worth it. A newer player in silver or gold arena is only wasting ressources doing this. If your food storages are maxed and almost empty you get 150-220k food from such a chest. Thats the real benefit if you are leveling troops or power leveling heroes, food is the limit. A newer player with two lvl12-15 food storages will get some 30k food, just not worth it.
And there is the point of raid energie. You only have six, you need eight to fill a chest without loosing a single match. To fill two every day is only possible with flasks or on tourney days. The five tourney attacks count for the raid chests. To fill three chests you have to use raid flasks. You can win some pr buy one for 100 gems. I am very active lvl86 player and I win three per month in the monthly challenge event and additional 2-3 in loot per month. The op has to burn this amount per week, and I doubt he can get so many raid flasks for free. These claims are not improving their credibility for me. But we all know with rng everything is possible….

With four chests every day you can get 3-4 elemental chests every month, that is proven. The average gems count is 30 in an elemental chest, thats 90-120 per month.

For me, rushing a chest is “I have time right now to play, in an hour when that chest opens, I won’t have time.” So I pay 1-2 gems, do the chest, and am satisfied. I’d never do more than 3 gems for this, though.

Yeah, that sounds fair; I should have been clearer and said that I don’t see the upside in systematically rushing chests, e.g., to constantly try to get a higher rate of more elementals.

…possibly, depending on circumstances. I find that personally I (A) almost never have enough feeders, so power leveling is something I can only do in very limited bursts for the occasional individual hero, and basically not at all for troops and (B) in the case of heroes, that having heroes to train (in particular, 5* heroes) is my real limiting factor.

The latter contributes to my not hitting the food bottleneck nearly so much, when I spend a lot of time just leveling random-hopefully-useful-4* heroes (and occasional 3* standouts) in order to give me a better shot at the middle portions of “infinite roster depth” events (the later parts just need more 5* heroes — or at the very least, A+++ 4* fully emblemed LB heroes).

It seems to me like a lot of extra work to consistently grind out four chests a day

  • especially on the raid chest side, unless one has a really high tournament and raid % win ratio on top of the need to raid at constant intervals throughout the day (AND to maintain a high win ratio without the Night of a Thousand Rerolls, if even modest food gains are a goal)
  • but even on the monster chest side, where hitting two monster chests a day will likely slip a little bit every day due to the amount of time even to just auto S1 8-7 nine times or whatever (I’m assuming burning loot tickets every day on monster chest farming is not sustainable for most players)

especially if at least some of those paltry gems from regular chests have to be plowed back into even slightly rushing chests to stay on schedule.

Also compare: let’s generously assume that elemental chests can result in up to ~120 gems and emblems per month, at the grinding 4-regular-chests-per-day pace. That would imply that a less intense “I just play some everyday” pace could attain, say, 2 regular chests per day, resulting in elementals yielding ~60 gems and emblems per month.

So…

all that extra chest-chasing results in likely, at best, an extra 60 gems and emblems per month.

That… even from a strictly F2P perspective, is a little underwhelming compared to the extra “my game is now another job” effort involved.

And from an even fairly minimal VC2P perspective (say, someone who only spends on VIP yearly and nothing else), VIP would seem to give substantially more than 4-chests-a-day farming/raiding does.

Do you mean not any 5 star (so not even a HOTM or Season 1) or do you mean event/non S1 5-star.

This game is Pay To Gamble. It’s not even Pay To Win, because of the random tiles in play.

So if you buy offers, all you pay for is the ability to gamble more.

I think I have just as much fun out of it without paying, as those at the top. At least at times. It’s just not worth the money.

I once got 12 heros of the month doing 180 pulls . I think the game sets you to lose if your not buying alot of the deals

Sounds like you got at least 3 5-stars from 300, Sobek and at least 2 S1. Oh that’s not too bad at all, and not far off the probability.

I’ve only been playing 6 months and am c2p (my budget is $20 per month), so every 5-star is great. It sounds like you have lots more heroes! So I’m sure it’s frustrating to get S1 and duplicates. But unfortunately if want only the newest heroes, it can definitely take more than 300 (check out the videoes of players pulling THOUSANDS to chase heroes).

Also, even though I’m newish, I prefer and save for the portals without any S1 heroes like the Challenge Festivals. Or perhaps become FTP or CTP? You must have heroes you can focus on leveling, so you don’t waste money getting S1 and duplicates?
