That’s exactly the result I was hoping for when I retrained my 6th Richard, since Lianna is the only S1 hero I am missing and I could use another green sniper (I only have one Kingston).
I got a 6th Khagan instead, though… (I am retraining him now…)

Finally I finished the research for lvl 10 and had started the hero training.
In 7 days I’ll share my result.

Completed HA10 today, with remaining Advanced Food Storage to Lv10 hours before. Started 14d research for 5* retraining. At least I can use HA now actually.
Feels weird when most expensive things are built while I still have some unfinished Advanced Farms and Mines and that Advanced House too. Hell, even Barracks are at Lv8 and it seems Lv9 won’t be needed for some time still.
Very easily fixed problem if they restrict the number of trades allowed per week. They could even add in a gem cost to profit off of that, but no of course that’s a drop in the bucket compared to keeping people hooked on that gacha hoping they’d get something better.
I’ll let you try this one.

How many extra 5’s are you guys keeping for purposes of recycling in HA?
I personally keep all S1 duplicates for HA (I’d keep 1 copy of each S1 5* excluding snipers, where I’d keep 2 copies (well excluding Magni cause I have 2 Alasies and 1 Magni on max, so I don’t think I’m ever gonna need a 2nd Magni, but normally I’d keep 2 copies of him too).
So currently 17 copies of S1 duplicates will go to HA in the future, but I still got 2 food storages to build for researching HA10, so it’s gonna take a few months before first training…
My only missing S1 5* is Obakan and also I’d keep second Sartana, other trainings I’m gonna wait till I get hopefully something new outside of S1. If I get 2 new 5* in a year from HA, I’d consider it a good luck.

Too many. I’ve never fed a 5*. 
I suppose retraining any unwanted 5* is the best use. However, you cannot queue any heroes for 5* retraining.
You won’t need more than a handful. When the HA10 info came out I fed a bunch of my duplicates. You MIGHT get lucky and get 2 non-S1 heroes in a year. Might. More like 0 or 1 in reality probably because of potential duplicates. You only need like 5 and it will last you years.

@NeG I amended my spreadsheet now to include the recycled hero if you wanted it to be tracked, just redownload and copy across.

This! I feed season 1 5s stars without hesitation now. No point having 6 Khagans and 8 Thornes on the roster!
I have so many duplicate hotms and event heroes that I’ll never use but also can’t stand to feed away/retrain due to how common it is to get a s1 5*.
I really wish they implemented a system in which inputting s1 5* heroes grants access to the entire summon pool while inputing more rare heroes from events, hotms, s2,s3 would then restrict all s1 heroes from your pool.
I wouldn’t want to input a dup event hero and get a Khagan but I wouldn’t mind putting in an event hero and getting an event hero, hotm, or s2 hero
