Well that does not sound right.
I could understand portal without the event like Pickup but other way around is just playing silly
Wait, what? Each raid flag takes an hour to generate. So the devs think youâre going to babysit this stupid tournament for 20 hours in a 24 hour day to maximize your score?
If you kill the enemy quickly, youâre limiting the points you can get. This incentivizes endless battles of not killing the enemy to maximize your points.
I dislike the idea of using normal raid flags.
OK so here is what this means.
1 Timing
Server resets at 4 am for me. So letâs say I wake up at 8, Iâve already missed 4 flags. I use 6 immediately to help fill the chest (with 2 tournament wins), wait 6 hours use 6 more, wait 6 hours use 6 more and fill up the chest, and I still have to get 2 more hits in by 10pm. That doesnât leave a lot of wiggle room. SG is kinda smart to increase the number of times we log on.
Some folks will feel the need for those middle of the night alarms to wake up and use flags.
2 No more normal raiding
Unless youâre out of the tournament, you essentially donât have flags for normal raids
3 Iâll stop cup dropping
Right now I cup drop and win back up to 1800 trophies to fill my chest. In this new system, I donât see that working as Iâll need to maintain trophies to get better chests.
Again, this seems kinda smart from SG.
4 Chests are going to be a pain to fill
Right now I cupdrop to make chests easier to fill. Making me do the league means I have a harder time filling the chest
5 PoG
As part of cup dropping, it makes the PoG challenges easier. Now I have to do those PoG challenges while also winning league raids. PoG requires specific teams, but League gives benefits for specic heroes. These can easily be at odds for each other.
6 Flasks
Folks will be using more flasks than they use to. This may just be to get around the things mentioned above. Or it may be because someone has free time to do raids and donât want to wait.
I was initially excited for Raid League, but seeing it uses normal flags, this feels like a way to redirect current raiding to this new league. Itâs probably still a net positive as itâs free loot added to the game. Even if you get knocked out day 1, overall loot in game has increased for you (save your cynicism). Iâm still interested, but not as excited as I used to be.
Also no Food/Iron/Recruits from battles
That will add up and theres is already a shortage for those.
Unless there is special energy for this type of event i donât see myself participating more than round 1 just for freebies and probs just entry no flags used cos iâll be doing regular raiding when i feel like it
That is you. On other hand, people who have hundreds of raid flasks might beg to differ
I dislike that is runs on normal energy.
Especially with the high number of daily flags.
It require to use a Raid flaks every day if you want to use all of your attacks unless you awake 24/7.
Correct. No extra reward for battles.
I still think we need a portal like Wo3K
This doesnât bother me since I donât raid for food or anything in fact I typically lose food since I am rerolling so much and not always winning but when I do raid itâs for PoG
Slight correct. If you use your last flag before going to bed, you can sleep for 6 hours before missing a flag. Since we only have 20 flags and not 24, that still leaves 4 flex hours. So 10 hours of sleep, but otherwise perfect.
I missed this earlier. Another draw back compared to normal raids.
Sometimes there is a PoG challenged which is not completable from 20 random raid fights.
Eg: Some classes are not presented really well in the defense teams. So they need lot of rerolling to find enough enemy team having them.
So this can require the use of extra normal raids.
Whatâs worse as the Hero Leage features specific classes, and this move can reduce the use of some rare classes if they are not featured.

I really do not want to add alerts to finish all of my attacks in the event.
Wouldnât mind it if they cut it to 20 attacks per round rather than having a daily limit. They could even raise that to 50 if they wanted. Itâs the âdailyâ that is making this more a chore than necessary.
Yes, I would also prefer weekly attack limits which can be used any time during the round.
I donât disagree, but due to magic/styx +20 mana, bard bonus, then going against a team full of 90s (especially taunt), it is a daunting task to go to far. I used to always make Thurs of weekly tourney, and very often get all the way through Friday. I know only make it to Wednesday, at best. Wars are the same thing, used to most often go 5/6, and often 6/6, now iâm supposed to be happy w/ 3/6. Granted, I have one of the deeper rosters in my alliance and have lots of synergies, so go for big targets, but itâs happening to everyone in my group. I donât know why SG thought it would be more enjoyable for players to be frustrated more than having fun. Now itâs 100% the luck of the draw and opening board, and many times that doesnât even matter since going 3/2 canât have enough tile damage to take the tank.
It would be nasty if they keep choosing the F2P unfriendly ones
For sure they will. The concept is to make players pull more in paywalled portals for better results in this event.
In beta the families are: Moon (S5, I have only 3* and 4* heroes from it, and stil no event to gain additional coins), Kalevala (not even a 3* hero, maybe this year edition will me more lucky) and Winter (my lonely Santa will have to work hard for the whole team)
babysit this stupid tournament for 20 hours in a 24 hour day
Only 14 hours. When you wake up you have 6 flags ready, so you have to wait to regenerate only 14
Only 14 hours.
How generous. LOL. Unless this is just something for beta testing, the devs earlier comments about minding peopleâs screen time ring hollow now.
it is a daunting task to go to far
Maybe Iâm misunderstanding something, but I donât think you can be eliminated by losses. Only by lowest 25% in points at the end of each week
I have a question that I will ask via an example:
Letâs assume 800k players joined the league.
After the first week 25% are eliminated so we are left with 600k.
How many players are eliminated after the second week? 200k (25% of 800k)? Or 150k (25% of 600k)? Both alternatives make sense, so itâs a matter of developer decision.
