Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

These are huge buffs. Cleanse and dispel are valuable skills and adding it can make some of the lesser valuable heroes worthwhile now.

Does anyone know if the dispell and cleanse passives are applied before or after the skill?

Passives are always applied after the skill. So I think it will remain the same for these ones.

All of this would be so much cooler if, e.g., there were some reasonable way of obtaining these costumes for heroes we already have, without having to just summon those heroes all over again. (Obviously, a push to make ToL summons more attractive, and a nice bonus to anyone who already had these costumes, including folks who picked up cSeshat at last SE…)

Perhaps this means we’ll see some of these costumes in next SE? That could make some of the choices very interesting….

cGravemaker throwing dispel to all at VF certainly helps give him a new lease on life, one might imagine…

Yeah from me only cos I was lucky to receive costumes for Eve and Athena. Looks like I can do a green n blue combo when I get desperate. :joy::rofl:

Yeah maybe I should have selected C Seshat instead of Quintin. Looking forward to the next SE now: hope Zynga throws in a juicy bone or two.

Nice boost to these costumes!

I wonder if other families will get something similar

Pirates got a boost, hope they plan something to the Guardians  C Kong from SE will see a nice use if so!

Me, who had a fault happiness thinking that 3* and 4* underwild would get a new passive

Very useful buffs for the older HOTMs. It seems like:

  • cZeline and cZimkitha are now mini versions of Snow White / Ana-Belle that will both cleanse and dispel all (at fast speed) - although the drawback is they don’t offer a full cleanse (only the newest ailment).
  • cSeshat and cEvelyn are similar but only dispel three.

Funnily enough, I’ll need to rethink my defense a bit now. Currently relying on cPerseus paired with Cardinal Richeleau (healing block + (uncleansable) buff stealing fiends) - won’t work as well if cPerseus applies a dispel first!

I also have cDelilah at 3/70. Adding cleanse might just be enough for me to give her the mats…my only (fast) yellow cleanser is cGazelle so a second option may be handy for wars with all the dark tanks about.

I can see Guardians of Teltoc having a passive that basically debuffs enemies with the “twist of fate” debuff or tries to make a “twist of fate” buff (they take reduced damage from strong AND weak elements/colors; e.g. fire has 50% defense against nature and ice, dark has 50% defense against holy and dark).

well, these are really good buffs to some “older” heroes!

I don’t have a single one of those costumes, despite having quite a few of those base heroes  :upside_down_face:

Me too! Love the idea, hate the execution

Same as always you only get the buff if you have the costume, but yes it does improve some of the crappy costumes a bit, mainly I see it as a strengthening of already useful costumes.

Interesting though that they give the passives retroactively to already existing hotm costumes (well and some not yet existing ones), but only to the upcoming S4/Pirate costumes, but none of the ones that are already out? Or did I just miss these costumes already being out and about?

Nah. No passives for S2 or S3. Or rather not yet. Maybe sales is poor for S4 costumes.

Nothing for other CF1 families too. Wasn’t pirates the first challenge event ? Maybe that’s why Pirates get it first.

I think S4 costumes were all the lackluster ones, no upgrades/improvements, just a stats boost and sometimes a better class, with minor changes like damage 10% up and instead the dot 10% down or something like that?
The only S4 costume I really have on my list is Lepiota and that is purely for the 5% mana speed from the costume bonus because it can make her go off in 6 tiles. A 6 tile Lepiota is a powerful thing. But besides that I don´t remember any noteworthy S4 costumes. Oh and I remember the controversy about Xnol costume lol, but not because it is especially powerful.

I think I missed this, but is there info / topic already for Costume Akkorog and Lughaid?

Thx for noticing it.
No, they are brand new costumes.

I have just added a topic for them:

I’m delighted with the pirate changes! Especially giving cMT just a little bit more versatility, and I for one am super excited for cLL, she really has been my proverbial white whale… wanted her since laying eyes on how quickly she can melt heroes with her DoT
