🧪 Early Information on Judgment of Dunes [Part of The Beta Beat V62]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on Judgment of Dunes being TESTED in beta.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

:sun_with_face: Judgment of Dunes

In its simplest explanation, Judgment of Dunes is essentially a like Valhalla Forever but for the season 5 map (Dunes).

During Judgment of Dunes, all World Energy Costs on the Season 5 map are reduced by 3.

Adds a new “special” / unique mob called a Dune Scarab.

Like in Valhalla Forever:

  1. the loot is NOT increased
  2. there is a limit to how many Dunes Scarabs you can farm per day.

New feature in Dunes:

  • Monster Lure is added see the details later to improve your Rare enemy farming ability.

Dune Scarab

Like the Midgard Gnomes, these mobs only appear during the Judgment of Dunes event.
They are NOT shielded like the Bats in Tremours of Underwild.

When they appear, they can drop Dunes coins, Emblems, Crafting materials or Resource Bundles.

As above, there is a limit to how many Scarabs can be farmed per day.

  • Limited to 15* per day (compared to 20 in Valhalla Forever). This limit accumulates (so even if you only start on day 4, you can still farm 60* in that one day).
  • Can farm up to 60* in total during the event
  • There is a counter which shows how many you’ve farmed so far, and how much is can you find in total.
  • There is a countdown shows that how much time left until More Rare Enemies can be found.
  • You can also see an indication of is Monster Lure active or not.

* = These numbers can be increased with buying Monster Lure.
Extra Dunes coins are also guaranteed if Monster Lure is active above the Scarab’s normal loot.

Dunes Monster Lure

So using this Monster Lure you can farm 25 Dune Scarabs a day, and 100 in total.

This Monster Lure can be bought from the daily offers.
In Beta an extra offer category is added to Dunes offers (on day 1), where you can buy Monster Lure along with 120 loot tickets and 1 WE Flask. The price is unknown, and maybe these will be changed.
The other offers for day1 are not visible, and the next 3 day offers will also not be visible in Beta.

:zap: Energy

As above, all stages energy is reduced by 3 (from normal) during the event.

:mantelpiece_clock: Duration

Like current Dunes event, the event lasts 4 days.

:game_die: Summons Portal

There is a no change how the Dunes Portal operated.

There are still 3 featured heroes

There was no change in the odds in Beta V62

31 October 2023

Added to beta V62 for initial testing.

Looking forward to the great forum members helping us all with the best places to farm.

I do like the “scarab counter” as well.

Interesting that they made the Scarabs not shielded, though probably to avoid maki by farming too hard (as enemies have special skills).

Also interested in why this is coming - does it signal season 6 in the works?

Typo: Mindgard => Midgard

Type: Bat => Scarab

Season 6 is definitely in the work and will come with the whole Dominion of Dragons thingy, which will be a huge update
But in the meantime, I expected Untold Tales deadly mode to be tested in this beta build and to come live in November but it seems we will have to wait for v63 some time in December for this at least. And hopefully the Dominion of Dragons early 2024 (or at the very least first half…).

S2 Atlantis seahorses were yellow
S3 gnomes were red
S4 bats were blue
S5 scarabs should be either purple or green.

Conclusion: We need one more season to end the cycle of special mob of every color

Thx, I have fixed these.

Scarabs are Holy actually.

Can beta testers suggest changing color? It shouldn’t be hard to change it, I mean, there is no reason why they need to be yellow.

So I’m assuming Untold Tales is not season 6, this whole time I thought otherwise, wow I did not realize that.

Indeed, they specifically said Untold Tales was not meant to be Season 6… hence the different format as well (only 6 “chapters”)

Huh, I guess I missed that

I really hope it’s not just copypasted enemy from S1 that is called Crypt Scarab.

Costumes next, then 2C then Toon costumes.

Can’t wait to see Toon El Nad!

A while ago I tested out some different teams to optimize my season 2 farming for speed. IIRC I could play a level (including loading animations and clicking autoplay) in about 2.5 minutes.

I’ve done a few test runs with a rainbow team to see how farming speed compares to what I do in AR. I think the amulets could help speed things up. I chose 10-8. One boss. High level so comes with loot. I’ll have to optimze better for monsters. All green so could go mono red if I wanted to.
Well the farming run came in around 2.5 minutes. So despite tougher monsters, I think the amulets will speed things up making this somewhere I’ll use more flasks for speed reasons.

Yeah. Getting tired of farming S4 P10-7 Ad nauseum.
Decent loot and all.

I should have some free WE coming up once I finish Morlovia (finally)

Will test some stages for leather strips and backpacks.

I’m glad it is here… but not sure I care. Not worth farming, unless I have extra we flasks… I don’t want to complain… but it just feels like a copy and paste situation… and that’s ok… but they didn’t exactly nail it in the previous worlds…

I have been waiting this activity for year (0.5year)

Yahoo! You made me very happy, guys - it’s my most favorite Season!

I also very much like Dune Scarabs - that’s a good choice.

Can’t wait to play!

Chinese New Year 2024 is the year of the Dragon, and falls on the 10th February. :dragon:

Maybe that’s when they will launch Dominion of Dragons?

3 months more, more sneak peeks
