Can we select ourselves and battle ourselves in this mode?
5 attacks a day is fine by me as a start. Itās something they can easily increase later. Iām more surprised there is a limit in Beta.
As an avid cup dropper, I wonder if this will create pressure to not do that. No one will ever select me to fight because my team is so subpar you wonāt learn anything from it.
I assume someone in Beta is asking this, but why not? Self battle would be a 5% better benefit. I imagine the backend coding is almost the same (just selecting a defense and attacking them). It would be an even better test for most people.
This is a small ask and I donāt want to detract from what is awesome everywhere else. Iām more curious if there is a reason. Perhaps the code breaks in a self attack and itās not worth it. Perhaps they donāt want us using 5 battles a day on ourselves since most people would test their own defense rather than others.
I do expect this to be another in the long line of complaints about being in a smaller alliance. The alliances that coordinate better will benefit from this, as they benefit from most things.
Being a āmereā training, i donāt get why the limit of attacks per day, with the option of refills to be bought too.
Apart from that, itās a very welcome implementation. Just hope they can take it further e let us build a specific defense for training and try different assets, without affecting raid/war defense.
Energy reduction is totally nonsense. I want to practice and have fun with my alliance members limitlessly. This looks to me like another thing where SG want to take the money out of players. Nonsense!
None of the games that I know that have this āfriendly battleā option doesnt have limit for this kind of battles.
SG actually implementing an idea the fans want without making it a money hungry cash grab?!?!? What is this madness?
Shade aside, i am so happy for this! I can know work on fun new defense formations and have my alliance mates test it out and just attack each other for funsies. Iām super pumped about this!
Can anyone from SG staff explain the reasoning behind implementing a daily limit on attacks?
Does this attack generate any type of rewards? I assume NO
So why have a limit?
Why when you deploy a new functionality requested by the community for such long time, push it with a major limitation and possibility of monetizing it with Reset tokens.
We appreciate you work on this feature but you need to sit down and again think about your Priorities a bit further and realize one thing. You canāt focus monetization on everything you deploy without pissing a hefty base of your user base all the time.
I can see a few reasonable explanations.
1 server capacity. We have seen the server hit capacity a few times this year so having more people online just testing all day may lead to more server issues. Perhaps 5 is just for beta. Perhaps it will change after a small test.
2 Since there is no way to perfectly recreate certain testing situations, I can see people going into practice raids, but backing out trying to test specific boards. How does this team do if I get a diamond on the first turn? How does this team do with no tiles? It would basically create endless testing against a set enemy.
3 There are complaints of too much to do and of alliance members not spending their time doing the alliance friendly activities. Another in the line of ādonāt want people spending all day on thisā
4 It is possible theyāre doing it to sell refills.
I think most people will assume #4 is the most likely reason. Iām pretty okay with 5 as the cap. Day 1 it is something Iāll want more of, but no way Iām using 5 practice flags a day (I use every other flag).
This could be released with a one flag per day limit and it would still be a huge win. Perhaps if they make more money from this, they can afford to be more generous in other areas?
This is a bit true, as every client maintains a connectionā¦ there is a big but howeverā¦
So what? Battles are generated and run entirely client side. Only the result is sent to the server. And they could eliminate that from this (particularly if itās spammy to chat as Guvnor says).
If there are safeguards in place for raid or world battles they could be removed for this because thereās no reward (which I very much agree with).
No rewards, no incentive beyond being able to claim you won. And if you have someone in the alliance whose sole goal is to parade that aroundā¦ thank you for making it clear what toxic personality to kick.
Ahahshahahaā¦ yeah, thatās a good one.
Iād mostly like to see it loosened so that it could be used to test new heroes. Testing them in PvE is nowhere close to the same.
Iām more excited about this than any of the other content / changes introduced in a long time!
Itās very often said by many people in my 4 alliance family that the only reason that theyāve stayed in the game (and kept spending some or quite a bit of $$) is the group of teammates.
With 5 free raid energies that replenish daily, we could have a lot of fun. And yet it doesnāt require anything of teammates that might be busy with other priorities in the game, like events & such.
Personally, idk about no rewards for it, and I wouldnāt want a limitless activity unconnected to rewards.
Iām fine with the cap of 5 flags per day. From my perspective, this will be mostly used for folks looking to test new raid defense teams. Many in our alliance have theirs set. Like me. Iām not really going to ask my alliance mates to test my defense. Not going to change it. But it will be cool for alliance mates looking to test their raiding teams vs me and vice versa. Glad there is a limit as I could see getting lost in thisā¦lol.
I agree, FWIW. Honestly, if the opposite were true, Iād vote for a cap anyway. This will be a cool feature in the beginning and I understand people asking for more flags but it wonāt last. Other than testing the weekly tournament defense once a week, nothing else is urgent or important enough to require countless flags each day. I really see no reason why I should attack my allies countless times every day or why they should waste their time attacking me.
If I need to test a new raid or war defense, 5 allies attacking me once is more than enough to get some idea, otherwise, Iāll just let others test it through normal PvP raids as weāve always done. Itās not the end of the word if people field a bad defense for a day. I know many people who have done it and survived.
I know people will hate me, but Iād honestly limit it to 2 flags/day. I might be a bit paranoid but I can see this becoming a chore with allies asking each other to use all their flags to test their whimsical idea. āHey Bob, glad I caught you online. You know how Iām doing the Alphabet defense project? Well, Iām up to the letter M now. Can you attack my team of Marjana, Malosi, Margaret, Miki, and Muggy, record the fights and share them? 5-10 times oughta do it. Yeah. If you could just go ahead and do so, that will be great. Mmmm, Ok?ā
Donāt get me wrong, I am super pumped this is in the works, and I do understand why you would cap flagsā¦ but any chance we can bump this up to 6 flags? I personally want to test all 6 war teams against my alliance mates. You get 6 war energy and 6 raid energy, 6 friendly match energy just makes sense.
