🧪 Early Information on Friendly Matches [Part of The Beta Beat V35]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on Friendly Matches being TESTED in beta.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Request Threads

This is an often requested feature to be added to the game.

The master request thread & previous discussions can be found here:
[Implemented -- V35] Practice Battles or Raids Against Teammates in Alliance [MASTER]

:hugs: Friendly Matches

Only limit to this feature is that it MUST be against CURRENT alliance members. They can be online or offline with any type of defence team set.

Battle Format

Just like a tournament battle or raid battle.

Not much more to say then that… The chosen ally members defence is there, you fight it. The end.

You may challenge both online and offline enemies.

Access

Really simple to access. Simply:

  1. Go to Alliance Menu

  2. On the Member tab (default)

  3. Tap one of your allies

On their player profile card which shows their defence team and stuff, there is a small blue button which says “BATTLE”.

Hitting the “BATTLE” button beings up a screen similar to the normal raid screen. You then pick your team and away you go.

Alternatively, you can tap their icon from the Alliance or Global Chat, which also brings up their player profile. Like above, there is the “BATTLE” button. This method ONLY works for alliance members.

:zap: Energy

In beta V35.1, there is a total of 5 “Friendly Match Energy”. Visually they are the same as all other energy icons in game but in a light teal colour.

You can only see the energy quantity when you go to start a Friendly Battle (see above).

Refills / Regeneration

Friendly Match Energy refills automatically back to 5/5 once per day.

There is currently no interface showing a countdown timer to the refill time of the “Friendly Match Energy”. It exists, just no countdown timer shown.

You may purchase a full refill in the Shop (on Resources Tab) for 100 gems (same as raid or world energy refills). Currently, it is limited to 1x refill purchase per day.

There are currently no “Friendly Energy Flasks”.

:calendar: History

Unlike raids, raid tournaments etc… There is currently no interface / popup or information showing your attack / defending history in Friendly Battles.

A “system” message is sent to the alliance chat notifying of a friendly Battle and the outcome… Which is actually quite spammish and annoying…
Removed after copious negative feedback in V35.5 beta

The only notice / way of sharing is if you use a screen recorder & share it with your alliance member via an external app.

Nice of SGG to finally implement this feature, which so many have requested.

Crappy of them to try to monetize it in this way, but I can’t say I’m surprised.

Wow :open_mouth:, finally nice feature for testing out heroes Alliance members…
I can’t wait… :muscle: :+1:

The ugly part is the energy cost… I mean, you are battling an alliance member only for fun. No rewards other than get fun.

Regarding the feature. I love it. It opens a new world like testing teams until internal tournaments.

Do hero defeats here count towards the Hero Wanted Chest?

No. There are no rewards of any kind for winning or losing a friendly Battle.

This is really interesting, and a nice way to test teams within an alliance.

Sorry if I’ve missed it in the post, but do you attack their raid defense or their war defense?

Finally!!! Glad to see this feature in beta. Hope they won’t change their mind.

A question, is it seperate defense setup for frienldy match? Or attacker can pick which heroes to setup the defense? Or it is raid defense? Thanks.

Just their raid defence which is set at that time.

Oh… was hoping there was an option for war teams

Thanks for the info

Would be that hard to coordinate with your alliance member to have them change their raid defense temporarily to their war defense?

It’d be less effort for me not to have to do that haha. Can be tricky as my alliance is from all over the world

If it comes to it that’s what we’d have to do. Would just be nice to select “current war defense” or normal raid defense :slightly_smiling_face:

Can we attack ourselves?

unfortunately not

That also would have been good

For all its limitations, this is still a most welcome development.

This is a fun add, hopefully in the future they will allow us to set parameters to the match … rush, undead, things like that so we can practice war scenarios instead of just raids.

Definitely. Thanks @Guvnor for posting this.

Clash Royale (and I’m sure many other games) has had this feature for a long time (same with a green icon telling you who is online). Glad SG is finally catching up :slightly_smiling_face:
