I own two, but I usually use one of the costumes… they are much better. They heal less but provide priceless effects.
From your question, I assume that you don’t have many heroes, and over time you will get more and then three is just too many…
No matter how good a hero was

Nope, no extra advantage unless you have dupe costumes. E.g. dupe Sabina costume 1, to level your first Sabina costume 1 (best kept for when the costume 1 is maxed but special skill is not maxed, guaranteed special skill level up)
