Rushed Goldie for this. She’s only at level 73, but already proving her worth reflecting the silences, mindless attacks, and fire damage.
Attacked with 3 Yellow stack of Goldie - c2Li Xiu - c2Grimm/Xiahou Dun - Waddles - c2Rigard/Anna-belle. Xiahou Dun and Anna-belle comes in against riposte tanks like c2Cyprian and Azmia.
It might seem a weird combo as c2LX’s silence stops Waddles’ mindless attack, and Anna-belle removes all ailments, but getting the timing right produced 5 wins against already strong defenses.
Defense has only been attacked once for a loss. Hopefully it’ll get better soon.
Attacked with a team of Shar’Khai-C2 Li Xiu-C2 Rigard-Kitty-Waddles. Shar’Khai is an absolute game changer in this tournament type. 3 purple tiles will kill anyone if I have all buffs active. I will LB and 2LB him as my first priority when I get enough 1* dark aethers. I’ve had him since the first portal he appeared, but only now am using him outside of titans.
Continued using 3-1-1 attack on Day 2 with c2LX, Waddles, and Goldie locks while the Blue shifted between Xiahou Dun, c2Grimm, and cSonya. The Purple secondary healer was either c2Rigard or Anna-belle.
Was very lucky today. Two matches I lost a hero early (c2Rigard in one and Waddles in the other) but managed to come back and win. Linus is tough in defense as he forces you to match Blue tiles. Another 2, the starting board was full of Green and Red tiles, but some kind cascades charged my Yellow heroes.
Would need all the luck I can get on offense as my Defense is struggling. Was 1-5 (E) at the end of the first day and at 4-7 (D) presently.
I have Goldie maxed and emblemed now and will likely work her in depending on enemy defenses tomorrow. But this attack team has been reliable.
My defense was…a very poor choice. To be honest, I have a vague recollection of setting it like this. It was a busy weekend! Flirted with a D today but back at E.
Somehow managed to make it through Bloody Wednesday without a loss. Same 3-1-1 formation as before, switching the Blues and Purples depending on whether cleansers and/or dispellers were needed. Goldie is up to level 74 and that made it a bit easier against some very tough defenses including one in the top 20.
Final match was the toughest against a familiar name.
Took me over 8 minutes to finally beat your defense @Fishy. I usually don’t play so slowly, but with the video recording was pretty self-conscious about not fat-fingering tiles Was getting desperate in overtime, you can see the multiple clicks on my heroes as they are charged. Even tried firing a dead Goldie once Got lucky with a big cascade of Yellow and Purple tiles near the end.
Defense has slowly climbed into some respectability at 8-12 (C). Hoping it will stay there.
Goldie entered the chat today and boy was she marvelous! New attack team was:
C2 Kiril-Waddles-C1 Grimm-C2 Li Xiu-Goldie
My first attack was a 0 immediately dashing hopes of another perfect day. But I couldn’t get a special charged as tiles simply wouldn’t drop in. Ah well.
Rest of the attacks went well.
O: 4-1 (14-1 overall)

My defense also miraculously climbed to a C at present
(4-5). I’m really not counting on it staying there but I’m trying to have hope.
Score: 10,743. Top 1% for maybe another hour or so
On day 2 I went 3-2. Lost the last 2 fights rather unceremoniously against full lvl 80 teams with C2 Cyprian tanks. Bad boards didn’t really help. I decided to risk it and not bring a dispeller other than C2 Li Xiu with her Superior Jinx, but the risk didn’t pay off.
On day 3 I went 5-0 again. I swapped out Waddles for C2 Gormek and it did the trick. Also encountered a funny team with 4x 2C Li Xiu + Waddles.
Surprised going 5-0 today i must admit. I dont think i lost any of my heroes in any match today. And in 1 or 2, i made dumb moves and thought it was a loss.
Went 4-1 today. Surprisingly easy wins this time, only the last team was very tricky with again a full lvl 80 cast of characters including C2 Li Xiu as tank and yet another C2 Cyprian on the flank. You need a good board to win and my board wasn’t good enough.
What makes C2 Cyprian tricky is not so much the counter attack, it’s more the insane spawn rate of minions, and there isn’t really a spot to spare for any minion stealers/killers in this tournament type. The only suitable ones I can think of are Cupcake or C1 Gormek, but they wouldn’t really fit in with the rest of the crew. Well maybe Cupcake would, but she’s the wrong color against C2 Cyprian.
Took my first loss today in the 2nd match and this would probably end up being a missed opportunity at 25-0.
Faced a defense of Sonya - Waddles - c2Kiril - Junaid - cSabina. Countered with Goldie - cSonya - c2LX - Waddles - c2Rigard. Board was bad and was an uphill struggle from the beginning. Killed the tank and only had cSonya, c2LX, and c2Rigard left alive. Had c2LX charged but made the mistake of hitting (and killing) Junaid and cSabina instead of silencing the charged up Waddles. Waddles killed c2Rigard, and just couldn’t recover without a healer, especially since Waddles revived multiple times.
Switched my attack more today, using 3 Purples (Arges - Ametrine - c2Rigard) and 3 Blues (cSonya - c2Grimm - Xiahou Dun) vs Yellow and Red tanks.
Defense hit C (10-15) at the end of Day 3, but 6 straight losses and back to D… Still well within top 1% though.
Not a bad attack day. Continuing my attack team of C2 Kiril-Waddles-C1 Grimm-C2 Li Xiu-Goldie. I really needed a perfect run to consider climbing to the top 1% by tomorrow, but unfortunately the first battle was a loss. Team power of my enemy was 650+ higher than mine, but I definitely would’ve had a solid chance had I been able to get my yellow heroes charged.
I’ve never been so happy to see a “C” defense grade in my life as I was last night. Better than being in the basement, but still not enough points to get me out of 5% hole.
Wish I had Goldie instead of cat… have her on my second alt and she shines even at 4/30-40.
But I use Rekhetre as secondary cleanser and even when under effect of shifting mindless attack she could stop it with passive.
