Why so many people consider Elena as a tank? There are many Alfrikes (purple) in attacking teams, so cSabine (also purple) can easily block Elena. Maybe the number of Alfrikas is not that high as I thought… Or maybe purples (Alfrike, cSabine, Rigard) are so strong in Rush…
Elena is the most “fragile” Red.

And so it begins! There are definitely some tougher options for both attack and defense now. I wonder how much I can hold on to a high ranking this time

I don’t have a whole lot for rush defense so I went with -
C Alby, QoH, CB Khagan, Onatel, Franz…
O is 3-2 already
D : 0:0, but I don’t expect much.
2 teams with Aflrike (tank and flank). 2 looses.
I can see a potential of Arfanias being an amazing sniper in VF format, but I’m sitll leveling him, he is 4/62 and not full potential… Even now, Arfanias gets about half of Alfrike’s full HP if her mana is full before he fires. The fact that I can’t use my only solid def drop 5* hero for this format is sad… Athena… she akways made these formats more bearable as i was able to kill heroes faster… regular Vivica would also be actually useful here, but I stripped her off emblems a while ago and Idk if I’m ever gonna give her emblems back without costume/costume bonus. I do have other counters for Alfirke, don’t get me wrong, but in combination with other nonsense to counter, it’s like - bleh, I don’t care anymore…

Well, I meant to go back and revisit my defense but because this was already going to be a low effort week, I forgot, and my defense now has 2 wins, 0 losses. oh no! does this mean i have to put in a real effort for a 5* rush tourney now? 
anyway, i guess cElena’s not so bad, at least for a no ice tournament.

I usually go with a 3-1-1 attack in Rush, but I exchanged for Mother North and so tested out a new 2-2-1 team with Mother North - Kravekrush - Ludwig - Lepiota - El Naddaha. The idea is to use KK to counter the enemy revivers, Lepiota to counter the taunters, riposters, and gargoyles, and El Naddaha for both the damage and buff blocking.
Worked pretty well with 4 wins, though in Rush the tiles are the main difference maker.
One loss was against an Alfrike tank
Again I would usually attack with 3 Yellow heroes to try and kill her with tiles, but the new team was doing so well I didn’t switch. The opponent Alfrike fired and somewhat improbably hit both of Ludwig’s flanks. I got my Ludwig charged and came the dilemma of whether to fire and charge up the flanks for the mindless attack. I decided to hold and was probably a mistake since the taunt was not up when Khufu fired. KK and Lepiota died. Got my MN charged but only brought back KK. Managed to gamely fight on and kill both the opposing Ludwig and Alfrike before losing. A 400 point loss feels like a draw here 
Not sure if I will use the same formation again if I face an Alfrike tomorrow.
Defense hasn’t been attacked yet, but not placing much hope in it

First day… and first defeat against
The board was average (I can’t say: “It’s just a bad board”). Why I was fighting without reds? I can’t explain it…
My Alfrike fired first and hit four enemy hroes. She missed only LotL (ready to fire - bad luck). Then LotL struck again… and again. Because of her Minions I couldn’t charge any of my heroes (only Viscaro hit once). After all Elena and Ferant fired. Somehow I killed the tank with blocks, but it was too late 
I lost this battle.
Other fights were easy.

Garbage day 1, 3-2 already… 1st loss against team with BK-LotL-Asterius-Alfrike-Kara, 0 points. I went with 2-2-1 team, not enough tile power and fire power and I didn’t get 6 dark tiles to fire my Hulda and Alfrike a single time. 2nd loss tankbuster, against Alfrike-Ludwig-Ferant-Prof-Quenell. I had that fight in my name, just made an mistake by not using my BK (this was the very first VF-tournament where I can use taunters) I was thinking that 3 turn taunt won’t be enough and they aren’t firing in a couple of turns, but unfortunately cascade happened into Alfrike who then ruined my fight. Lesson learned: use the taunt whenever it’s ready…
Defense is 2-0 so far.

So far so good with the fickle beast that is rush. I got the six red tiles I needed for cb Khagan-c Elena-c Azlar to fire which is usually enough. I did need cb Domitia and Kunchen and got the six tiles I needed for them when I needed it.

Since I don’t have the fancy new heroes/Alfrike I’m not going to win the close ones, but I’ll take good boards as long as I can get them!

Luckily I start lower in the ranks, had mostly easy opponents. Went mono yellow twice, mono purple once, mono red once and red/yellow once. A frw bad starts, but no hard tanks meant I could sit out until my tiles came. 5-0.
Defense won one so far.

Why would you attack with mono in rush tournaments? It’s literally all about specials, not tiles. I use 1-1-1-2 to attack with.
Mono is not the worst way to go. With the right heroes you only need two matches to end the game. You got both tile damage and special skills at the same time.

I think I killed 2 for the one I lost, but I had NO tiles, and their Khagan tank went off 3 times, which killed 3 of my heroes because he attacked the exact same 3 EACH time.

Probably a tie between 8-60. One part gave jvork 8th place and the other gave him 60th. Idk just a guess

Well, since my defense isn’t doing terribly, i decided to really pay attention and give it a real try, and basically took my defense team for all the battles switching out Arco for cRigard if I really needed a cleanse. wasn’t facing any real monster teams, but it worked great, only trouble was one with a board that was just yellow as far as the eye could see and never quit, and i brought no yellows. never got anyone charged and got completely thrashed, so a big fat zero on that one.
currently in top 25% with 2810 points, rank 187814.
good luck on day 2 everyone! we’ll see how long i can hang in there.

No problems with the regular alfrike defs, but the one that got me was khufu, papyros, alfrike, zhuge liang and lewena. The fiends and sand damage ended up being the problem - just couldn’t get the heal in time after alfrike was dead

Kalo can go straight to the 17th level of hell. Thing absolutely destroyed me…and I’m laughing about it.
Faced a Kalo - Ludwig - Alfrike - Kullervo - MN. Used my Holy team, and put away Ludwig and Alfrike with no problem. Figured I could decimate the rest of the team. Kalo then fired his special…that was it. Every one had mindless attack, since Kullervo fired his as well. And that taunt was never ending. MN did revive some, but Kalo did the damage.
