Restoring enthusiasm for long term players

This reminds me of a post I did

then in August of 2020 I cut the cord and quit before coming back late December 2020…

The end result:

  1. The game is meaningless, no actual progression – just busy work.
  2. There is no value for your money. It’s not even sunk cost. It’s just GONE.
  3. Real life is more important
  4. If you walk away, sure you will have spent-- but you will not spend any more
  5. Are they really friends in your alliance? And how many, really, count? (Me: I count 3-4 max, and my best friend from RL is in a different alliance!)
  6. If the game feels boring & like a chore… it is. Yes. It. Is.
  7. If it doesn’t make you happy… find something to replace it.
  8. Don’t get stuck “because it’s familiar”… when your mental health deteriorates.
  9. Don’t look to SG to restore your enthusiasm. There is nothing to be enthusiastic ABOUT.

I felt a great amount of freedom when I deleted and uninstalled the game.
I reinstalled it due to insomnia and boredom.
Helios will be the only alliance for me because of a select few, but I still question every day if it will be easier if I just leave the game, delete line.
I cringe at those who rage-quit and eat those stacked rosters… but that is what it might take to cut me off of the game so I never come back.

Bottom line? It’s not worth it, and don’t look for something that isn’t there. Play for your reasons and, when those reasons are no longer satisfied… quit.
