Random Atlantis summons.......not

This isn’t true. There are a number of ways of generating random numbers and I can think of a few that would generate different random behavior for different people. For example in an entropy based system, they are often counting on activity on the system to generate that entropy. If I were SG, I would be spinning up and down servers based on need, and also doing other things to promote data locallity. This could cause an interaction where some people are are continually going to the same lightly loaded servers (but never lightly enough loaded to spin down) that don’t see enough activity at certain parts of the day to get real random results.

If you work in computer security long enough, you tend to see a lot of these kinds of things and know that there are a few ways that random isn’t random all the time, but can be some of the time.

You are generally right. I made an assumption that SG took the easy path and uses a Pseudo Random Number Generator that is available in any programming language.

Many of the publicly available PRN’s have such flaws (or used to, its been about 5 years since I took a serious survey…which admittedly is a lifetime in tech).

You can flip a coin 10 times and get heads every time, are you telling me that, that isn’t random? You’re idea of what random is, is warped. You seem to think that random means 10 attempts would give 10 different results. But random is exactly what it says it is, its random. So you could randomly pull the same here 5 times. It’s as if you assume once that hero is pulled, they are removed from the pool. But they’re not. Imagine 52 cards, you pull the king of spades, put it back, reshuffle and pull again. Your chances of getting the king of spades are the same everytime. This is how the pulls work.

Is that possible to have a behaviour based on the people ascension items?

Just thoretically speaking, of course.

i Liked this. thanks.

sometime i think that its it.
cuz i have, all heros 4*, JUST WU, don’t have… i i’m lvl 45 kkkk thats so funny.

and started new account, and get one wu, is my 3 heros 4*, LOL

Theoretically we can imagine algorithm based on whatever parameter starting from set of ascension items and up to a player’s birthday and/or GPS position. But it matters just how it is really implemented by SG.

I’ll recommend this course (or any other like it) to the many people in this thread who would rather educate themselves on how statistics work rather than rage against a ‘rigged system’.

Of course

Just thinking if it was possible and if it was legit using it.
I mean, thats not a casino and they suppose to have the rights to do something “ad personam”… Or not?
They are bound to give everyone the same without “filters”?

I haven’t ever heard a statement from SG saying that the odds are the same for everyone and at any time, or if the odds they list are generalized across the community. Such a statement may exist, but I haven’t seen it. That said - I doubt they went to the trouble of doing much to modify a straight random approach.

I could see a few cases where such modifications would be helpful to them, but in at least a few of those I can tell they aren’t doing it (like not having people rage quit due to too much bad luck). Others would be psychological tricks to encourage spending - and would be harder to track down without massive data gathering. Still I choose to believe it is all unmodified and straight odds for all people at all times until proven otherwise.

I appreciate the effort, but that not really answer my question.

Not asking if they use that or not, but if it is legal to use some kind of “behavior” for RnG based on the player situation (is it ascension materials for istance, or money spend and so on…)
Can online games do that legally?

This way you indeed give all the people the same RnG, it just “acts” differently for different people.

I’m hoping they can’t do it legally, although social media as well as tech giants seem to be manipulating anything and everything based on an individual. It would be illegal, but nonetheless continues.

I’m not qualified to answer that. Maybe some legal experts are in the house.

No, the summons aren’t rigged. There is no benefit in rigging the summons, the advertised drop rate is absurdly low for 5 star heroes so in the sense that it is rigged against you, well yes it is. It’s working as intended. If you are getting upset that you dumped several hundred or even thousands of dollars into this game and are unhappy with the return I would suggest that you stop throwing money at a much more deep seated problem.

Yes odds are realy low . I pulled a 30 Summon. All 3*
Only Hero i wanted was Ares . But nooo 8 times same Atlantis 3* Hero and So on. 3-4 times same heros after it. Look i know that they need to earn money to keep the game running. Getting a whole new world need funding also. Im happy to spend a few. It just eating my heart out we Dont have a change to win a Ares anymore. Just keep your hope up and Enjoy new world. Im sure the devolpers are happy with Every Buck we spend. Makes the game better and better,

Odds, odds, odds…

I’d like an empiral enquiry.

So when Grimm starts i’d like people to post the percentages AND amount of:

  • 3 star normal
  • 4 star normal
  • 5 star normal

AND

% and amount of
4 star Grimm
5 star Grimm

(as far as i know there wasn’t a 3 star Grimm)

AND

% and amount HOTM

That way we can add all scores and compare the percentages.

I believe it’s random.

I don’t always like the results of my summons, but they’re random.

Sometimes heroes I don’t want RANDOMLY drop or duplicate…

If it’s not random and is in fact a scam, I’m confused as to why people spend even a dollar

VFOOD, I love the post

Difficult to remove human bias though. People who are disappointed are more likely to report failure than those who got what they wanted!
