I have 3 maxed C. Rigards, 2 of them at +17.
Theyâve seen much less use since I got Quartz. In practice, the hyper fast cleanse and attack buff is very very useful.

+1 for his very fast cleanse and attack buff. There are times youâll reach his 2nd or 3rd charge with little effort, ghosting tiles being your best friend for this.
Quartz vs. C Rigard vs. Squid Man is semantics and theyâre all good in their own right, but Quartz has ninjaâd his way onto my default raid team.
I am in the exact same boat as you and similar thoughts. I donât much like HOT heroes because they leave your heroes vulnerable for a couple turns. I might finally take the plunge and level him now that I got Xnol and Ludwig maxed. I will wait a bit and see if anybody better comes up and get my tabards closer to 12 so in case I do get somebody better after I ascend him the wait wonât be to excruciating.
hey, i feel you. Iâm a (not so) proud owner of Jade, Salmon Loki, Quartz, Eloise, Russula, Theobald and 3x Guardian Owls.
For me what makes Quartz pretty unique is the undispellable healing for the 3rd charge. At 860HP its a decent amount of healing and definitely enough to get a badly damaged hero back up to say 45%-50% HP if they take on no additional damage. I am not sure I know of any H.O.T healers who do this. Definitely who I would use offensively when Vivica-C is on the opposing side. The over 50% attack boost is nice too.
I finished mine and started adding emblems but havenât used him much. The Ninjas all look so similar that sometimes I forget what they do (and I get all aggro in war and just swipe without looking at the cards sometimes).
So I was very pleasantly surprised that his 1X special healed everybody. I had him confused with the red 4* Ninja (Sapphire) whose 1X special affects only her (him? which is it).
Definitely worth bringing to war against yellow tanks.
Hey guys, just curious about his 3rd charge mentioned canât be dispelled . So meaning war equalizer it will still remain or will get dispelled when equalizer activates?
The equalizer takes everythingâŚdispellable or undispellable. For example, Skadiâs frost stack is wiped.
Thanks! Valuable information when bring him for alliance wars.
So the other reasons Quartz is noticeably better than C Rigard (besides the flexibility of the first or third specials), is the class and the family bonus. C Rigard has a useless class (ranger), while Quartz has manashield (very useful). And many people will use more than one in ninja when raiding (i.e. Onyx goes everywhere that Quartz does for me, and much of the time Ruby), so the counter and dodge bonus comes into play. And then there is some additional tile damage (higher attack), and higher def and health stats.
I agree with your points and also think Quartz is superior to C. Rigard. I think the only reason why some people prefer the latter is because he doesnât take precious 4* mats to ascend and there are a lot of great purple 5* heroes fighting over tabards. If resources werenât a consideration, itâd be Quartz all the way
Just pulled this guy on a coin pull, pretty happy as i only have rigs and stat wise heâs a good upgrade, will be great on offence!
iâm levelling him aa the moment to replace Lu Bu in my purple mono raid team - will be CJabber, Onyx, Quartz, Sergi and Khonshu. 4 of them are charged after 6 tiles. Would have loved cGuardian Panther to replace Sergei but it wasnât to beâŚ
He is awesome ! The utility of the three different heals is the best thing going . Sometimes you need a level 1 heal to keep everyone going for a bigger heal . Once you hit level 1 it seems 2 and three are close behind . Heal over time stinks and I donât like it but this hero makes it not as bad with the sometimes useful mini heal at level 1. I like him a lot and say on him way too long before leveling him ( sartana , jabberwock, and Arfanias leveled before him . )
I think if SG just switched his healing to boosted health this dude would be awesome. Boosted health would justify the reason behind why he heals for less than Rigard, and provides a lower attack damage buff at second charge than Rigard. Boosted health at very fast speed is very valuable, but not game breaking with newer heroes coming out currently.
Boosted health and he would be on par with Garnett IMO.
Good luck with that. Zircon boosts health and he isnât very good either.
True, but Zircon doesnât cleanse or boost damage. I find both cleansing and damage boost more valuable than immunity to buff dispel and defense increase.
Believe me I would rather they buff Quartz further, but based on my experience with Garnett, I think the boosted health access at very fast speed combined with cleanse would make him versatile and very useful. Healing still wouldnât be âimpressiveâ but useful.
I was hoping after releasing the 4* Steropes, who regenerates 324 boosted health over 3 turns on his 1st of 3 charges, that they might revisit some of these like Garnet &/or Quartz. I get that they do more, but they are also 5* heroes. They are still solid heroes, but have definitely fallen behind, especially considering their origin.
seriously this hero totally deserves an upgrade, SGG is quite unfair at times
Keep the chatter up on these and other heroes that are deserving. SG does listen.
Garnett I still find very useful despite lower health boosting numbers, but comparing her to Quartz they are definitely not equals. She is far better because her health is boosted health.
