I previously went through my roster to see what I want when this was in beta. My early thought is to pick C1.Marjana, but let’s talk out loud.
I want to look at top options and how they’ll improve my roster. I’ve been a recent mono convert for war, so I can generally see if a costume will improve my mono team. I’ll immediately rule out rare and epic heroes.
First let’s show approximate value of additions (I used toons to approximate):
Emblems 1-20: 100 power
Emblems 21-25: 25 power
LB1: 79
LB2: 151
I assume any new costume will not get master emblems and will not get LB2, so whatever power I see, I can knock 176 off to see where it would land with my team.
Dark: dark is by far my best team as I’m loaded on toons. I have another Deadboot and C.Madea to level up. The new heroes just aren’t strong enough to make the starting roster

Green: my second best team. Before I even do the math I know it’s not going to promote anyone to the starting roster. I have a second Daroga that I may level when I finish Pip. Frigg could potentially replace C2.Lianna, but it’s not exciting enough of an upgrade.

Blue: I have a bunch of decent options that I change my mono team more than other elements. I have multiple heroes I want to limit break once I finish curse which should help the team. After upgrading Satori, Jolt, Otso, and Curse I’m not sure the other options will get used. Loki is tempting though as everyone knows.

Holy: my second worst team, but a team I lack depth. I’m already healer heavy and lack hitters so Gazelle isn’t super exciting to upgrade this team. Drake Fong would be the immediate improvement, but if I haven’t 2LB Constance, I probably wouldn’t for Drake Fong either. C2.Joon is tempting as well so I can pick Toon one day, and I already have a second C1.Joon leveled.

Red: my worst team. I have some options to improve a slow hero, but if I want another slow hero, I can level another T.Azlar. C.Tyr would be an immediate upgrade, but not exciting.
C1.Marjana would be an immediate upgrade, upgrade other aspects with fast EDD over Guardian Falcon, I could take the second costume next time, and I could level up a second one.

I was thinking C1.Marjana going in, and I’m still leaning towards her. She gives an immediate upgrade, a skill that is certainly helpful in other areas, a chance to improve even further next outfitter, duplicates I’ll want to level. I might even be able to get the toon costume by the middle of the next year.
Six months from now, would I rather have 3 Toon.Marjanas? Or a Loki, a Gazelle, and Frigg? They’d all be demoted by then.
Of course, given I spent more in the costume chamber than other portals, this does have a chance to be worthless if I pull her there. That would still be a huge upgrade so still a net positive.
Once I’m done with Marjana, I may work towards other toons like Joon, Leo, or Isarnia, Richard, or Magni.
If I wasn’t going toon and didn’t have my roster, Guradian Panther, Gazelle, and Loki all seem like solid options.
