Lol, nice! I do think you can do it since you carry double the number of battle items in this quest. Maybe I would add time stops to your tornadoes, bombs, and axes.
The 2nd time I tried the stage, I swapped turtle banners for time stops and that helped a lot. However I did not need them until Wave 5 (that have has 3 bosses in it, vs. just 1 boss and 2 mobs in the other waves).

Can you trade me for Boril’s costume? Lol. Semi-seriously though, that’s what I need to pull. My Boril is emblemed and LBed with the max defense path (defense close to 1000 but I wish I had his costume special). I don’t even know when the next Masquerade portal is, as it is not every month anymore.
Another question for anyone out there,.,if you trade for a hero in Soul Exchange, do you get their costume or just the base hero?

As for Guardian Jackal, I invested a lot in my first offensive yellow team…which consists of five limit-broken 19-emblemed Jackals, each accompanied by a 11+ level yellow mana troop. This made me go quite a lot on HA 8 and 9 training/retraining… but it’s possible to achieve for any f2p. That team has one of the highest win % in raids, compared to all other that I have, despite having 0 5* . So, Jackal is a very useful hero even in multiples. Sadly, not so good in 3-2 teams in wars, because it only hits 1 target. The base idea of going 3-2 is to take out an entire flank, and Jackal wouldn’t make that happen.

Unfortunatelly, no EDD heroes are within the reach of f2p. Lucky pulls are the only way for us to get them. It’s been 4+ years for me and I stil have no EDD hero for green and purple. This is quite a drawback when dealing with higher titans.

You gave me some good ideas about who to use for future stages. My Gretel is not max level yet, but I’m definitely saving Wu Kong until the end. I will pore over my yellow roster later to figure out the team compositions for the next levels. But I don’t think I have enough yellow heroes to finish all the stages like you did. Congrats!

If one could have 5 copies of her and wu, one could probably finish this contest with items. The boosted health makes all the difference.

I don’t read Beta Beats much … so I didn’t know when the next one will be. Or that it was green… nice! That is probably my strongest color and most heroes of any of the colors. Although I’ve been building up my roster, finally doing the emblem and LB plans that I made a few months ago (in between I took a break from the game). But yeah, I am back and will consider my green projects first. I was about to pick the emblem path for Shrubbear today…he did really well in the rare challenge event with just LB but no emblems. So will be good for defense/taunt.
I’ll let you know who I summon with the coins in the current portal. Believe it or not, I’ve only ever summoned two 5* from portals (with coins of course), the rest are from TC20. So I am not that optimistic about my RNG in this portal, lol.
You are in good company mate. I’ve NEVER obtained a 5* EVENT hero. I did get a Valhalla 5* on my return but no 5* in Seasons 2, 4 or 5 either.
HOTM are our best bets, which is why it’s important to time which month we want to pull in – if possible

I will chime in I suppose. You didn’t tag me, which is fine. You did @Noble_Weasel which makes the previous statement less fine 
Anyways, SE is neat and I am excited to try it for my first time at the 10 level probably first quarter 2023. It does take a while to get that many dupes. Definitely solid advice given so far, but here’s how I approach SE.
1 - A titan specialist. As a F2P titans are a phenomenal source of mats and items. I see you still have Wu as your guy. If there is a premium titan booster that would absolutely be a prime target due to the long term (basically daily) pay off.
2 - EDD heroes. Red and yellow are easiest to obtain via HA, so the value in that color is “iffy”, but any other color I would jump on. Those are so hard to get yet would help dramatically. I don’t see a scenario where EDD isn’t long term helpful.
Those would be my top 2 prime targets. After that it gets to roster specific personal preference.
You mentioned a resurrection hero. I personally don’t have one and also don’t feel I am “missing” it. You may feel different and they’re hard to get, so go for it.
A 5* healer can be good, but also isn’t essential. I have 2 (Viv and Raff), but still use my 4*’s at 75 +20 daily. Vivica is also an inevitability if you keep playing. If you do go 5* healer make sure they’re secondary effect(s) are worth the trade. Ariel mana boost perhaps? Mana boosting is difficult to come by. Otherwise 4’s and their dupes can suffice for less resources
Overheal is nice, but also getting more common. I think someone would come along eventually. It is super useful, but not essential. I actually don’t use mine very often anymore.
The category I would target personally after the first two is mana control. Heroes keep hitting harder and support heroes keep doing more crap simultaneously and that won’t change. F2P also won’t keep up with counters, etc. The best reliable solution is mana control at the 5* level. For example, Hel would be an amazing get. Onatel another. They wouldn’t ever go “out of use”. This is especially true given the depth needed in events now.
Good luck either way though! I did notice on this first elemental quest my choke point in all colors will be healers. Part of that is I do keep dupes, but dupe 4’s can fill in. I guess Titan, EDD, mana control would be my goals in a general sense.
I would absolutely trade 10 dupe 5’s for Franz even though he is a 4*. Zero hesitation.

I am a poor choice for soliciting advice when it comes to roster composition and needs. Because it all comes down to, do I have enough chips to make a run at the current Soul Exchange? Lesser of a question is how short am I of reaching one of the tiers? Who is available at the tier that I can make a play for and do I already have him/her/it because I don’t take dupes.
Going with what @Noble_Weasel said, it’s perfectly fine to bypass an Soul Exchange and wait for the next one if no good choice comes up. I’ve only did one Soul Exchange so far (2nd one out of the 3 total thus far) and picked based on color, rarity than anything, and I grabbed Lady of the Lake off of Tier 2, who I just managed 15 dupes right before the event started. She was my first Challenge 5* in this game, and I really could’ve waited even longer to the next one and maybe tried for one of the tier 3, but I really didn’t feel like purchasing additional roster spaces at that time and wanted the roster space relief already so I took the exchange.
So now, SE3 is history, and SE4 is somewhere along November/December, I have 12 dupes accumulated, 13 if I needed to grab the one going in and out of HA10. I can already make a play at tier 1, but I am still on pace for another tier 2 exchange, tier 3 might be pushing it. So I will see who I can have for sure at 1, and if I make 2, see who’s there, 3 might be stretching my dupe acquisition luck a bit. Even though I should be able to find “someone” at either tiers because I don’t have a lot of heroes, but if no one pans out then, I just might be hoarding to see who is available the Soul Exchange after (e.g. SE5).
Congratulations of finishing the Elemental Challenge, not that I would have done much better, but I accidentally mis-managed my roster and used some of my better heroes too early. Seems like the Elemental Coins are interchangeable amongst elements, I am just going to save what I earned so far and use them when I have enough for a summon during one of the elemental events which I feel like dropping in. I think seeing one or more of these single pull for S1 3* yellow heroes is enough for me to stay my hand. Besides, I am also waiting for the Fated Summons counter to come alive so every bit of in-game currency I can save up to count towards that counter, I will for sure wait.
Also full time F2P here. I’ve pulled twice from SE. first time was Killhare, second was Zuri. Killhare has underwhelmed since day 1. I use her a lot (because F2P) but she has never hit as hard as I would like, and I think this is because the power creep in this game has been faster for damage than it has been for healing/specialities. To get Zuri I had to include four leveled S1 heroes and I have no regrets. She is amazing. As an upgrade from Raf, Kunchen, and Viv for a five star healer who is not slow, she has really improved my teams (and she’s a lot of fun).
I don’t necessarily agree with the people who say look for a resurrector. It depends on you style of play, but I like to know what my heroes will do-any hero that gives just a chance of something happening is more likely to frustrate me than anything, but that’s just me!
Of course we don’t know what’s coming, but if you could snag, say, Toxicandra (who could reasonably be a 20), I’d say do it without a second thought.
Regarding the Super Elemental Summon portal (whatever this current portal is called), I am very likely going the path of @Shohoku79 and saving my coins. The only yellow healer I have is Sha Ji (who I used already), so now I have to do different battle items, if I’m going to continue in this holy elemental quest. So…no summon to celebrate or commiserate about. But that’s okay, I am patient in this game.
I assume, anyway, that you can use your accumulated coins on the next elemental portal (green), or continue to save them up for another element. Depending on when the Fated Summon comes into the game, of course.
My reasoning is that tower coins can be used at any of the tower summons. Plus the 2 small tower flasks they gave us long ago (still unused for me), looks like they can be used in any tower (ninja, magic, Styx, whatever). Maybe someday I’ll work harder on one of the towers (probably Styx, since no curses), but lots of times I don’t even use all of my 10 daily flags. I just take the 10 emblems of each as rewards (and whatever else), as I am not super competitive or using tons of battle items in the towers.
I was lucky in my last Covenant summon (with coins) and got Atomos, who is working well for me so far with my roster. Likely, I will not pull (with my 100 coins) at the one coming out on October 15th (I believe). Don’t need another 3* S1 hero, and the Fated Summon won’t be implemented yet into the game.
Besides a dilemma about where to summon with gems (when Fated Summon is active), that’s all I’ve got. Has to be non S1, obviously, and I will be looking at master topics for future portals to determine which one to pull from.
Good idea, @FrenziedEye , to wait for a better HOTM as well.
Doesn’t make sense to have a new currency for each new element (but I won’t put it past $GG for pulling something like that seeing as to how many different currencies we already have in this game and only slated to get more with each new season release).
So believe these are just going to function just like Challenge Coins which can be used across all Challenge portals, that these can be used across all 5 contest of element portals and you can keep accumulating them and use them when and where you see fit.
As someone who had always played for free and a collector, I think I can always find someone that I don’t have and would like to have in the Fated Summons or Soul Exchange rosters. No point in letting my below average luck on single / meager summon amounts go to waste. All non-daily / troop summons from this point for me will be until the Fated summon counter become live. Gems will be used when certain criteria fits (for me it is Isarnia being featured in a Costume Masquerade portal). I can afford to be patient in my playstyle.
Same here about being patient, @Shohoku79 , I hear you. The calendar I use predicts the next Masquerade Portal featured heroes to be Domitia and Elkanen, so it looks like you get to save your gems yet again.
And according to the description underneath those “super elemental” coins, it looks like you can use them anytime the portal is open. Although I have no clue when the next Contest of Elements quest will be. I almost forgot, until the last night, to work on the yellow one with my full roster being used. So I beat 3 stages in the final hours, and got 60 coins total. Looking at my inventory screen, I have 11 different types of coins, and some costume keys. Not enough to summon with all of them, but I am waiting until Fated Summon for everything. Except maybe the Masquerade keys, as that doesn’t occur as often anymore. (Calendar says it’s supposed to open on October 31, how apt.)
If that is the case, you are correct, more gem hoarding yet again. Keys also for that matter, I am still missing some 3* and 4* costumes too, and this will give me more opportunities to wait until even more 3* and 4* 2nd costumes to be added to the pool for the pulls too. As much as the masquerade was one of my favorite events, it’s also getting a bit frustrating when the pulls kept reflecting dupes, and compounded by shortening of the frequency of the event and the most recent make the event harder and longer but still the same number of keys rewarded shenanigans.
On the subject of Isarnia being featured, I actually did manage to off load some keys and did a 10x Gem summon when she was once featured (with Joon) when there was only one costume, I didn’t get her, but got a non-featured Richard costume. If memory served me correctly (they often don’t), she was featured at least one more time after that, but I only had keys but didn’t have enough gems to try for her costume.
Sure, saving the keys (if Isarnia is not featured) will obviously slow down the counter on the Fated Summons, but it’s more important for me to save for the goal that I set out to do (Isarnia costume(s) being the 1st, followed by shoring up the 3* and 4* costumes and second costumes) rather than the increasing the counter by a few digits, when the counter is supposed to be there for a period of time.
