Create/Design Your Own Hero – Player Hero Ideas [MASTER]

I’m not staff!! Just a player who spends too much time on the boards.

Oh!! Haha. Sorry about that!

What about this?
Marshal:
Red hero, in officer’s armor, or uniform, with medals. Special: Not one step back: Grants all allies +30% defense and they counterattack with 115% dmg received for 3 turns. Or another idea for the special, After me: Grants all alies +30% attack for 5 turns and gives 25% mana to each hero except the caster.

You do all realize they’re probably saving the other Greek God names for the 6 star hero tier, right?

@Bertus

Of course they could… But if the Greek Pantheon ever gets used and are placed in the 6 Star Tier, they would need to do something to Athena and Ares, who they have already released as 5 Star Heroes.

Then comes the problem, do they change the existing Ares and Athena into other hero names and create brand new Ares and Athena in the 6* category? Or do they just promote the existing two by giving stat boosts, better specials, and essentially give players who already have them freebie 6* heroes?

There are arguments for both with the first side obviously less effort to implement, but would probably get complaints from players who do have these heroes about how they got gipped out of their Ares/Athena, but in the long run, if it is just a name change, it probably wouldn’t be as bad. On the other hand, the second side will present complaints from players who don’t have them, saying it is not fair to the playing field because the ones who already have them presents an unfair advantage over those that don’t.

SGG can choose to keep going with their current route of introducing new original heroes and choose to ignore the fact that they’ve already creaked open Pandora’s Box by introducing Ares and Athena but not the others of the Greek Pantheon.

For the sake of this fun exercise, let’s try to keep our thinking to heroes that might plausibly fit within the current game. My view is that the mythical 6* heroes are just the invention of us here on the boards; there’s never been anything from SG about adding a tier.

And as a reality check, anything we post here will at best inspire an SG dev to create something. So, let’s focus more on creativity of concept rather than worrying over-much about balance. That said, some of the most powerful heroes in the game (e.g. Wu Kong) have a negative to balance their positive.

It’s been a few days since visiting this thread, I really needed a break after grinding out the rest of the Greek Pantheon… Like I said, it was harder to come up with stats and what abilities to give them without them being too similar to existing heroes and this is coming from someone who hasn’t even explored fully the upper tiered heroes, but merely glanced over their stats.

Sorry about being a bit off topic and perhaps getting a bit ahead of myself there… The idea of 6* heroes was more like an idea I had thought about during this thread. Didn’t want to confuse any readers that this something that SSG is actually planning on at the moment. Perhaps I should’ve phrased my last response better.

I’ll probably stick with coming up with heroes and ability names, as well as brief backstories.

I love your hero ideas and back stories!

@Shohoku79 I agree with @Kerridoc :slightly_smiling_face: Lets keep the ideas coming ^.^, no reason to speculate what SG will or will not do.

Have you got any knowledge about Norse mythology? That would be awesome :D. Thor… Skadi… Freya… Odin? Some raven guardians maybe ;)?

The Kalevala of Scandinavia is another rich source of material.

Returning to the thread after almost a month…

Norse Mythology is not something I am too familiar with, but I can sort of see the theme in this game as far as most of the Blue / Ice Heroes are concerned. I think I may be more familiar with Greek / Chinese Mythological figures myself, so my ideas will generally be for those areas.

Erlang (Yellow) - Heavenly Smite

Erlang, or sometimes referred to Erlang Shen or Erlang Zhenjun, is one of the most prominent, respected, and perhaps strongest and most heralded of the warriors of Heaven. When the Monkey King Sun Wu Kong* was wrecking havoc on the high heavens. Erlang, along with the help of his trusty heaven hound and the Brothers Six of Mt. Mei, were the only party managed to successfully capture / subdue the Monkey King, who, ultimately escaped capture again before finally subdued by Buddha and agreed to escort the venerable monk Tang San Zhan’s journey to the west.

Erlang, despite being a just and fierce warrior, is not one to be easily called upon and frequently kept to himself and his own affairs. Only called upon in extreme situations and answers only to a few (such as the Jade Emperor, leader of the heavens). Despite being having scuffled with Wu Kong in the past, kept thing strictly business. As evident in that he had later helped the monkey king and his group against monsters / foes in their journey.

Yes, the monkey king Sun Wu Kong is the same Wukong in this game that was based upon. But perhaps to differentiate or for make him more unique, The weapon used by Wukong in this game appears to be long sword/scimitar, but in the Journey to the West, the Monkey King primarily uses a bo weapon that is actually very similar to what Hou (literally the Chinese pronunciation of monkey, the 2 star Yellow hero) uses.

Yes… Wu Kong definitely resembles the Monkey King! In Hinduism he is called Hanuman, incarnation of Lord Shiva, and helper of Lord Ram. He is one of the main characters in the epic Ramayana. The Monkey King is believed to be the Chinese adaption of Hanuman . Hanuman is one of my favourite gods, next to Ganesha… so was very thrilled to get him in my main team ^.^.

And for Erlang… what kind of powers would he have in the game?

Erlang (according to Wikipedia) is represented with a third, truth-seeing eye. He was deified as controller of floods. Apparently he is based on a real figure who helped his father build the first flood control system in China, but was later venerated as having slain a flood dragon.

So this suggests some skills. The attack unleashes a turbulent flow of water, harming target and nearby. While they are distracted by the floods and bogged down in the muddy ground, their focus on battle is reduced. Erlang’s third eye, opened now by the special, allows him to anticipate and dodge attacks.

Attack: Mighty Currents. Average mana.

  • Target suffers [340%] damage with minor damage to nearby
  • Affected targets cannot attack or cast for 4 rounds unless they make a saving throw above [64%], tested for each action. This effect cannot be dispelled.
  • Caster has a [64%] chance of dodging any attack for 4 rounds. If successfully dodged, caster receives [36%] damage and avoids any status ailment.

Excellent ideas @Kerridoc

I was focused on Erlang’s status after he was deified and his job functions as a vanguard for the high heavens where I would think his specials could be some kind of straight out damager on the enemy parties, that I forgot that about one of his ventures.

With Erlang, he may have been the deified conglomerate of several folk heroes throughout history. The one where he helped mitigate China’s torrential flood waters alongside his father was only one of those identities as Li Erlang. The truth seeing third eye is his identity when he was Yang Jian originated from the novels Creation of Gods later this ability was carried over into his deified form in Journey to the West, where he became the nephew of the Jade Emperor and was one of the most capable ones to help subdue the Monkey King.

Erlang in his deified form is capable of 72 Transformations, has his third eye, is a brilliant warrior who is both strong and cunning. He is the embodiment of justice and valor.

While I like the special, Daphne was, in myth, a naiad of extreme beauty, so I would cast Daphne as a nature hero. But the special is appropriately a Dark construct (basically merging Cyprian and Rigard) so I’d just find or fabricate a different name.

Wew, some very cool ideas @Jenka, and very applicable as well, I would think. Thank you for your contribution!

Name: Charisma
Color: Yellow Legendary
Mana: Fast
Special: Rally Heroes
*Blocks attack of opponents heroes for 3 turns.
*Sends all blocked attacks back at the attacking heroes
*Regenerates 50% of mana lost of all heroes each turn for 3 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.
*Boosts all Dark allies defense to +70% defense for 3 turns.
Elemental Link: Gives all Holy allies +50% attack and +50% defense for 3 turns.

For appearance I was thinking something like Prince Charming from Shrek.
