I’ve given this a lot of thought. In general I don’t like playing three colors (I play almost exclusively 3-2) because tiles that only match one hero just don’t do much, but I probably need to try this a little more with the increasing importance of passive abilities (and especially against teams that really need counters). I’ve been playing around with more formations in my raiding and will probably incorporate that into my tournaments at some point. @u2371 has some of the most consistent raiding records on this forum, so it would be unwise not to learn something!

I play 3 colors a lot lately, even in war, but I’m just not that good I guess . There are players among us in this game that are just really good and I’m shocked how well they play, I’m just a fairly average player… even after almost 5 years…

I have to say that I doesn’t always play with 3 colors all the time, only mostly on 4* tournament. Overall, it is depend on how strong your heroes and troops are compare to the enemy team.

In war and 5* tournament, I usually play with 4-1 that my heroes and troops aren’t as strong as those whale defense. And yes, I doesn’t end well like my 3* and 4* result tournament.

I am like 95% to get kick out of 5* tournament in day 4 and end with top 10% loot. (However, this might be change after I get Kara and Milena up to 85+20 ).

On war I still go with 4-1 as well since I have to spread my strong heroes and I attack the stronger team since I am one of the best war attacker in my alliance.

For 3* tournament, it is depend but I most go with 3-2 since most people have strong 3* defense. I might go with 3 color if I face weak or moderate defense team.

For the 4* tournament, I usually go with 3 color since my heroes and troops are as strong as the enemy team.

However, you have to go with the right heroes.

In buff booster, I usually go with 3-1-1 or 2-2-1 with 3 healers of each different color but sometimes go with only 2 healers depend on enemy team and the color that can be used.

In bloody battle, I usually go with 3-1-1 or 2-2-1. The 1 stack is minion summoner or C Kelile. However, I might go with 3-2 if I can’t find the 1 stack that is minion summoner or C Kelile that I can use because 1 stack of hero that isn’t minion summoner or C Kelile doesn’t make much different. Also depend on enemy team as well. For example, 1 green stack of CB Caedmon is ok against Ferant tank.

In rush attack, I go with Little John + Mielikki + C Caedmon/C Melendor + Zhabog + Healer for now. Not sure if it is still work well or not after the S1 family update that my C Caedmon/C Melendor can’t charge in 6 tile any more.

Overall, it depend on how strong your heroes and troops are compare to the enemy team, how well your heroes to counter their team and do you have the right hero that can make a significant change in the battle even the hero is only on 1 stack .

Did you have a B grade every day? I had grades: C (day 1), A (day 2), B (day 3), B (day 4) - defense points are awarded each day.

I’ve been running 2-2-1 teams in wars, regular raids, and tournaments.
“1” is a standalone hero, such as Emilio, Nadezhda, Kara, El Naddah, C.Alasie, etc.

I used the same team throughout this tournament, with “1” being Anastasia. Without her minions and atk down passive, I think I would have lost a lot of fights.

Stopping by the thread because I feel good that my risky hunch for defense paid off.

O: 21-4 (bought back and went 5-0 on day 5)
D: 8-4 (all A’s)

I was unsure what to do at tank. I don’t have Anastasia, Mist nor Scoratek, and my Li Xiu and Griffin are unemblemmed. I had just finished the lb on Gulli, and was thinking that when I face him, his damage is usually the worst part for me. So I went with him at tank despite him being slow and his healing doing nothing. Seems to have worked out.

Def was cb Wu Kong/Mielikki/Gulli/Franz/Zhou Yu. I can imagine that those who lost to it were quite frustrated, as it doesn’t look like a good def for bloody battle

Good week for me. Straight A defense and 22-3 for attack. Should be on course to finish in top 1%.

Used 3-2 green/blue stack most of the time. Double Sonya and Caedmon for dispel or cleanse depending on the situation. Mixed with Hansel, Grimm and Almur, occasionally used Mist and Griffin.

I lost 3 times to a team with Wu Kong. I was surprised because the slash attacks did not miss at all…
My mistake … I did not bring any dispeller.
Sometimes I am reluctant to change my offense team when it works so well.
I also lost to a Ferant tank, I did not take any blue heroes…I was too lazy to change my team I guess
I was out thursday and bought back in as my def was A.

Loot is nice : 2 EHT for Xmas - Aethers : 5/6 rolls

So, you lose 4 times (3 against Wu Kong and 1 against Ferant) because of your laziness to bring dispeller .

I pretty much used Mielikki - Grimm - Sonya - Jott - C.Frank on every attack. I switched it up for a red or green team for one or two fights as needed.

Toughest enemies:
Caedmon against Mielikki will spawn himself a lot of minions thanks to S1 superior talents
Ferant for obvious reasons
Mist
Li
Scoratek - that fiend does a lot of damage

C2.Kelile wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, but it would be nice to have her on offense.

My defense actually turned A in the last 2 days after I got knocked out And that pushed me up to top 25%

Loot wasn’t much though

Next week’s a 5* tournament and my best raid colour of Purple is not allowed. Will be tough

posting the result of my 25/25 winning streak this week on instruction from @PlayForFun In order to get the JekylAndHyde medal:

Unfortunately my defence fell from an A the first 2 days to a B the next two days and a C on the Friday, so I ended up around position 400+.

Knocked out on flag 23. I held onto top 1%; my defence was A everyday, and I didn’t get any zeroes on offence.

Happy with an EHT and 100 emblems. I managed to not use the EHT immediately.
