I think By-Ulf + Gato synergy should be interesting and the timing should work out. By-Ulf’s attack up buff wouldn’t stack with Namahage’s berserk tho. And I’m not sure if I want Melia (crit buffer) in the wing or just another sniper like Bane. And I will probably max out Guardian Bat just to try him out in the right wing…
Thoughts?

thought about the same regarding By-Ulf and Gato. But I’m not sure if the dumb AI is smart enough to time this synergy. will probably use them on offense.
I was thinking since By-Ulf is tank, he will most likely fire his special first. His buff lasts 4 turns before turning negative. Hopefully, Gato at fast speed on flank can fire before 4 turns is up.
If By-Ulf tanks, fires his special and then is still alive four turns later and is forced to endure the negative effect of his special then you should be thrilled. The attacker is taking a long long long time to remove the tank, which almost certainly means you’re winning.
I think both options shown are a bit too passive. You have many good 3* options but the teams you show both have 3 heroes that keep you alive and only 2 hitters. I think that makes your team a bit dependent on the buff booster attack buff increasing normal strike damage and whittling away at attackers.
For the 1st team, if you want to tank Gunnar, I would probably do: Agnes - Belith - Gunnar - Namahage - G.Bat.
I think Agnes is the strongest 3* yellow sniper and can also bypass any defensive buffs the opponent may have (esp since it’s buff booster). Sudri is a bit slow to flank and has inconsistent damage imo, and I would rather have Namahage (another buff). I’m personally leveling Sudri only for use as tank in a no-blue rush attack tournament.
So ultimately that team would result in Belith giving 2 buffs to all, Gunnar giving 2 buffs to all, Namahage giving buff to self, and 2 strong hitters in wing. Just my opinion tho

It’s gonna be an interesting tournament. I got so many new 3* heroes and costumes that will see action for the first time. This time I am happy there is no colour restriction. Usually I prefer to have one.
Other options:
Bauchan is a solid tank choice for this tournament! Cutting the opponents mana and increasing your team’s mana generation, all at average speed is really good. Hoping to pull him in this month’s Knights of Avalon.
I was also thinking of putting a Tyrum in the wing on my team, but I figured by the time the wing fires, dispelling probably won’t do much. I can see a fast dispeller in the wing position making a difference, but I think I want my wing heroes as finishers.
Do you know if crit buff applies to special skills as well? Or only tiles/strike attack? IIRC, it doesn’t apply to special skills which is why I will probably use Melia on offense but not defense. I’d rather have the crit buff applying for tile dmg than AI strike dmg on defense.
I think it only applies to tile damage / normal attack. But I think she will work well on defence in this tournament. With all the buff boosts direct damage can get very annoying. So adding another 20% attack plus 36% crit damage, her special can be quite benefitial I think. And for the same reason an AoE in the wing might even be more efficient than a third sniper.
Think Melias buff is even better on defense…slash attacks for double damage, Melia hitting all +25% atk as of buff booster rule…perfect for defense.
Hmm…you’ve convinced me to switch out Bane for Melia in the left wing. Each active buff will give +20% attack so it can stack up for the AOE’s in the wings.
Does the speed make any difference on defense ? or does it always start left and proceed across?

I also have Hawkmoon-C, Tyrum-C or Balthazar (unsure on purple)
Ofc, the mana speed of the heroes matters on defense. On defense, it will determine how many tiles they need to be hit with before charging to full mana. The AI will fire from left to right but the flanks will most likely charge before the wings b/c they are more likely to be hit with tiles. On defense, the AI will fire heroes when they are full mana.
I have couple of issues with my defence… Is the first one too passive? Am I inviting green stack? The second option is to add some power and a buff from Melia… But again, two blue behind Grevle (wil be at +9 by the morning). Will be some additional emblems, just need food. :))
