I want to form a core of these 2. I have Mielikki+Costume but not LB. So Brynhild just screams buff booster queen. Could go Mist on left wing. Could flop Caedmon over to right flank and put Marcel on left flank. Simple things like that.
5-0 start but, with a limited number of LB2 4*s in my roster, haven’t faced all LB2 teams yet.
Surprisingly faced 3 Blue tanks today in a no Red tournament. Went with 3G-1P-1Y attack of Anton - Brynhild - Caedmon or one of his costumes - c2Rigard - Waddles. Boards were good so not much of an issue.
The other 2 matches were against Green tanks of Kalo and Franz. Kalo had c2Li Xiu as flank while Franz had Waddles. Replaced Anton with cSonya for an extra cleanser here.
There is a special place in hell for anyone who runs the 4-healers-and-Wu defense in this tournament. Every fight takes 10 f-ing minutes. If Wu dies, there is virtually no chance that the other team can beat me, but it is almost guaranteed to go to increased damage and be a threat to time out. There are times is almost rather just get crushed in 30 seconds
The first three fights were long and tiring… it seemed like the remaining two would be too, but then I remembered Shark! How could I forget about him? Have you ever seen
I try my new 2-2-1 team with Waddles & Hansel, C Melendor - Hansel - CB Rigard/C Sabina - Lady Woolerton - Waddles. This is my first time that I use Waddles and my LB2 Hansel in * buff booster. It work ok but lose in 5th attack against this team.
I go with C Melendor - Hansel - CB Rigard - Lady Woolerton - Waddles. The board is a bit bad but not very bad. Then main problem is those 3 enemy barbarian.
They have high base attack and the super barbarian buff make them get +50% attack in buff booster. So, as all my heroes are only at LB1 (except Hansel but LB2 Hansel stat is only about as LB1 S1 with x2 CB) and the board isn’t good, they try best to stay alive. The slash from those barbarian with def down hit very hard about 300-400 damage. That can kill my Waddles from full hp in few turn. Moreover, I found that the enemy super ranger Tiburtus occasionally apply about 360 bleed damage on slash that bypass my C Melendor def up. Overall, this is the end.
So far my first ever usage of Mielikki tank in 4* tourney, not the greatest result so far, but not the worst either (she has no costume, as I got mine from green elemental portal).
Also I kind of forgot to change my troop positions.
Def I lost against was kind of similar to mine except mine has 1 LB2 and this has 4 LB2 and Mielikki has costume bonus.
Went support-heal heavy as there is no healer (Ok, except superior paladins…) in the def except Mielikki’s minions. 2 healers and LB2 Kvasir with Griffin and C2 Li on other 2 spots, healers were C2 Kiril and CB Rigard. I never charged my yellows not even fast Kvasir and Griffin, I got total of 6 yellow tiles in like 15-20 combos total and Mielikki fired like 10 times… got big fat 0. Prolly should have taken Hansel/Proteus on Griffin’s spot to go Mana control-support heavy, still I never charged my yellows, so yeah. Of course it would be a Mielikki tank to cause my loss.
I’m having fun running Waddles-ccRigard-ccLi Xiu-Bogart-ccCaedmon on offense (Bogart is the only one not 2LB). I don’t usually run 3-1-1, but this is working well. Both Waddles and Li Xiu together really shut a team down nicely, though I need to keep an eye out for the barbarian teams that @u2371 mentioned. That is a good strategy for defense. I enjoy seeing when people come up with something new.
Started facing tougher defenses today, especially the level 80 double costume S1s.
First match was against a c2Caedmon - Xiahou Dun - cCyprian - Azmia - Franz defense. Went with 2 dispellers in cCaedmon - Brynhild - Xiahou Dun - cRigard - Waddles. Hit the Attack button and realized that I had switched from c2Rigard to cRigard vs a Yellow Titan . To be honest, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. Got Blue tiles for XhD, but not much else. cRigard charged once and his Heal over Time was easily countered by the enemy XhD. Ugly zero.
Almost lost the 2nd against a cRigard - Grimm - c2Caedmon - Tiburtus - Almur defense, but Waddles revived and put the opposing Tiburtus under Mindless Attack just as he was about to finish off my heroes.
Won the next one as well, and then came up against an Anton - c2Li Xiu - c2Caedmon - c2Cyprian - c2Kiril defense. Brought in cSonya for extra cleanse, and it came down to my cSonya and cCaedmon (and their minions) vs c2LX , c2Cyprian, and c2Kiril. Had just killed c2LX and was waiting for cCaedmon’s silence to wear off, but a bad cascade and my heroes killed themselves on c2Cyprian and c2Kiril’s riposte.
Won against an easier opponent in the last match to finish the day at 8-2. Defense was 2-2 (B) on Day 1 and currently at 3-4 (C).
I always had problems defending this tournament until I finally got Brynhild. Then it was great, but now Bryhild is only LB1, and that’s not enough if you have several other LB2s (taken into account when selecting opponents), so I was prepared for a poor result. Unfortunately, I also played the wrong Sonia (I have one LB2 and one LB1), which further weakens my defense…
