Yes but if everyone could control their actions then there’s no point in having laws!! If what you said is true then a lot of laws wouldn’t exist as people should be able to control themselves right
I get that many people here are consenting adults but do we ignore the vulnerable few?
There are no controls on children spending on this game as far as I’m aware for example
It may be an old topic but the only reason it’s old is because it hasn’t really been fixed…
Also, who in their right mind would give their children a credit card to spend on without supervision / permission? My sister allows my niece to spend USD10/month on game offers and thats it.
For adults, set a limit on your card if you really lack self control.
choosing source of entertainment (mobile app games)
choosing app game (E&P)
choosing to be F2P (then progress to C2P or even P2P later?)
Where do the options stop? No idea but definitely the starting point starts from one self.
From a mindset point of view, I advice F2P to play this game (only when playing) as a single player game. Just that you are only competing against the computer/AI. All the weird names in raids are just randomly generated.
Most of this discussion is triggered when players start to get competitive and probably envious of the advantage obtained from paying players.
Just out of curiosity is there anything in this game that you think can be improved from the perspective of whether your money is giving you bang for your buck, or are you happy with everything including just the thrill of doing pulls like @Rigs is.
TBH, I am happy as it is as long as there are new content and goals that I can pursue.
I will give you an example. I spent USD300 on my first month playing Hyper Heroes. Got what I paid for and competed against other similar players. Got bored very quickly. By the time it reached the 2nd month, I quit the game.
The randomness of E&P is actually the plus point of this game. For spenders like some of us here, the randomness actually reduces the gap between spenders. Someone who spends USD50 can compete against someone who spends USD5000.
The main gap starts with F2P against P2P.
4 category of players (spending wise):
F2P
C2P
P2P
High P2P
P2P players enjoy being able to fight against those high P2P players.
F2P wanting to compete consistently against P2P/HP2P can actually forget it most of the time.
So I guess what you are saying is, correct me if I’m wrong, you are actually OK with having patches where you spend lots of money but don’t get any heroes you want, so long as the content of the game is good and improving?
So if the bad patch of pulls continued consistently you’d still be ok with getting nothing and you’d never be tempted to quit?
Interesting, to be honest this is not what I expected and I’m learning something new from you and @Rigs.
I still remember some of the pull highlights playing this game:
1st 10x pull ever - obtained Leonidas
3rd 10x pull - obtained Aeron bonus
1x token pull - obtained Alasie bonus (last year and this year)
10x pull during Xmas - 2x Evelyns
4 token pulls - Onatel bonus
1 token pull - obtained Lepus
Painful times:
120x pulls for Victor and Zim but only got Zim
1000x more pulls for Guin / Zeline / GM - still no luck till today
130x pulls for BK - no luck and only gave me 2nd Arthur
130x pulls recently for Rabbit - no luck
Over 200x pulls for Albi - no luck
Over 100x pulls for Athena twice - no luck
Quite simply put we spend our money with hopes to get something for it. Some spend more than others but anyone spending even just once had a reason to spend, v.i.p. for the builder and gems, that valentines special to say thank you to all…etc…and on those times we get nothing as long as you stayed within your budget, you are just like whelp hopefully better luck next next time. Just because you like a game and you have a problem with gambling doesnt give you the right to try and convince someone else that they have to agree with you. I dont like alcoholics in my experience, but they are grown so it’s up to me to choose not to hang around them, same with drug addicts, thieves, bad people. Like it or not some people like the thrill and rush they get from that good roll just as much as the wanna choke a squirrel when they come.out empty handed. Cant have one without the other. If you liked the game as much as you say you do, why are you against people spending to keep this game running for you? Seems counter productive? Every person who buys something is giving you this voice in the forums for if we were not here neither would you.
Good luck on your quest I hope you find the happiness that many of us have in whatever bracket that you choose to reside in.
I’m not against spending as you know, I’m chiefly against spending when it nets nothing in return. (Although @Rigs and @AirHawk have tempered my view a bit)
Of course I want people to spend to support this game!
It’s the quantum and manner of spending that’s in issue.
But just generally I’m curious to know if you think you are getting bang for your buck @DoctorStrange or is there something that can be improved in your learned opinion?
For the amount i have spent my roster is fine. Being that I a very sensible budget that many others have followed I’m happy to have helped with that. I have been angry before on summoning odds and have had that bad run, it can be very disappointing and discouraging as a c2p so I cant imagine what it feels like to be where the heavy players are, I dont have cash to throw away like that. I like the game and like the possibilites that are still possible. Yes I think more can and will be added so my small stipend is my thank you and hopefully i get something nice and shiny here and there to shake up my roster and start learning all over again. Nore heroes you have more synergies you have to try more test battles you have to run more mats you need. It all goes hand in hand. I enjoy the community, my alliance, the artwork, the what’s next feeling i get from every new thing added to the game. Hasnt disappointed me yet.
The word “return” can be vague.
It can be tangible or intangible.
Your definition of return would be the former.
Most of the spenders would define it as the latter. Our return would be the pleasure / satisfaction / entertainment value that it provides from spending.
