Higher tourneys allow weaker heroes
Lower tourneys don’t allow higher heroes

You are not wrong.

But 4*+ tourneys destroy 1* to 3* heroes.

One 3* hero might be useful for grave damage, but they cannot soak up enough damage to use their special skill for much of the battle.

So they are allowed but not viable.

This is very well documented in war, but war at least gives you credit for partial damage to a defendering hero.

Tourneys are all about hero kills and team kills.

Non farmable Ascension items

I cannot level a 4* / 5* hero without non farmable ascension items.

So 4* / 5* tourneys are not viable for most people who do not have at least a 5x 4* 4.70 team

These heroes are valuable for 100% of Empires content.

Farmable ascension items

1* / 2* / 3* heroes can all be leveled with ONLY farmable ascension items.

So 1* / 2* / 3* tourneys ARE viable for most people who do not have at least a 5x 4* 4.70 team

1* / 2* heroes

1* / 2* heroes are only valuable for tourneys.

Dev Tim said he wanted use for 1* to 5* heroes, but THREE uses every TWO years is an insult to anyone using roster space for 2*+7 heroes.

It is an insult to anyone using roster space for 1*+19 heroes.

Make them more frequent or remove them.

Power levels

From a very good friend of mine:

My Sigrunn 1*+20 has a higher power than a 3* Trainer hero.

My Layla 2*+20 has a higher power than my 7/8 3* 3.50 Nashgar.

My Bane 3*+20 almost has a higher power than my Melendor 4* 3.60 ( with the difference in true levels, that was to be expected ).

My main rainbow 4*+20 team are 740 to 744 power almost as much as Azlar and Marjana at 5* 4.80 .

While power is not an absolute measure of a heroes worth, it does give you a rough gauge of the hero’s cumulative stats.
