The FTP Rebellion. Who wants to join? (Part 1)

I’ve added any S3 5* (but especially Gefjon would be super nice for you @Muchacho) to the C-Leo, C-Rigard, and other costumes that I’m hoping you will get soon. :four_leaf_clover:

I think you are probably already doing this - take your time doing S3. The more time you take, the more Costumes Chambers and Taverns you can do. :smiling_imp: I do hope something arrives for you sooner rather than later.

Maybe it will arrive in a nice clump of heroes too.

I do pair him with my Joon and that combo is brutal. Jackal hits super hard himself so a lot of times Joon finishing is overkill. I guess that would be more of a problem if they weren’t fast and very fast. Overkilling heroes one at a time isn’t always the most effective means, especially since neither is particularly durable. I compare that to dropping D on a whole side with ramming pulverizer or something and using tiles/other specials to essentially blow up half a team in a turn or so.

Joon is really my only yellow hitter though. Following Jackal with Gretel, Chao, Leo, Hu, Guillinbursti, or Justice doesn’t actually kill anything.

I do have Ranvir but haven’t played with him much outside titans and emblems quests as he’s still pretty new. Not sure his hit is quite “sniper” caliber either though . I may tinker though …

:beers:

Thanks for the tip. I’ve been at it for over a year, now. I don’t walk past unfarmables, ever
During AR, I don’t do all quests, but I certainly do some of them.

I don’t see it happening, but it would be amazing if they updated tc20 to include S2.

Also, I know Hero Academy 10 is generally disappointing - including my experience so far  - but they did change up the Alchemy Lab after some time. So, in my mind, there is a precedent, and they could actually improve the HA.

I see. It just depends on your playstyle. Besides titans, I mainly use Jackal in challenge events, raids, war, and tournaments.

I’m also facing quite a few Alfrike tanks in wars, so I’d take Jackal and 2x C-Joons to try and kill Alfrike quickly.

I put my second retaining in a few days ago. My first one resulted in a dupe. A little frustrating as I am still missing roughly half, maybe slightly under, the vanilla 5’s to still get a dupe. So it goes …

Oddly enough ToL, the worst portal, had been pretty good to me. Two HotM’s using only free pulls and no gems. Not bad, I am excited for it to start.

Costumes I love but the portal will not love me back

:beers:

I applaud your will power to save for a 30-pull. As I’ve mentioned here before, I spend gems on luxury things such as the avatar shop, and hero slots. So saving for a 10-pull is my maximum.

@sleepyhead Exactly as per my reply to Muchacho! I pair Jackal with a C-Joon or two.

I have Falcon too, and appreciate him. But Jackal is a favourite 4* of mine. Very fast mana. Titan specialist. Glass cannon but amazing attack stat (higher than C-Joon), and his Rogue class helps to dodge.

There’s no rush whatsoever to finish any of the seasons IMO.

Also, nerfs have happened in the past. And they will happen in the future. I’ll leave it at that.

I’m back to the rebellion :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:
Speaking of HA, it takes way too long to build that dang thing! It makes no sense.

All my food storages are at advanced lvl 5. It’s gonna take 2 more months to complete those. Maybe more.

I was planning to drop this game during december to be honest. But it doesn’t feel right to leave buildings unfinished. OCD? Maybe…

Once HA is finished and I complete 4 summons there, I’ll probably leave. I’ve been playing this game as a f2p for 2 yrs+ now. Hopefully I get a shiny HOTM from HA but I highly doubt it will happen  :

welcome back!

I agree re Hero Academy. it’s a slow grind. then there’s researching on top of that… my hairs are turning gray…

Welcome back @SirGorash!

Yes, the building times and the research times are too long for HA. Fwiw, I do know of quite a few players who’ve done well with it. One teammate got King Arthur, another got Tarlak (sadly dupe for him), and another teammate got Miki!!

So it definitely can work. It just took longer than four weeks worth of re-training.

Even amongst F2P, this might not be an easy thing to do (I mean, it’s like I saved these coins and they are burning a hole in my pocket and I don’t get a discount for using multiples of them (can’t), so why not use them?)

I appreciate the mention. If roster spots had not been an issue with this game, and if I am not being a roster masochist or only a no-dupe collector, then I might not have done what I did with Valhalla coins I have (I got 3.4k saved up at this point). And even now that season 3 is done, I have still not spent any V coins or Gems for that matter on S3, since I still have not found a desire to do so, despite running out of heroes to work on (I have no Reds now either).

Back in Season 2, I took priority in finishing the story on Normal and Hard first just so I can get more Atlantis Coins to summon for finishing, and avatars were like afterthoughts, with season 3 approach I am taking, I am actually working on the avatars and special stages missions first before finishing on hard (I already finished Normal so I at least got the, sort of let-down ending to season 3 after such an interesting built up in the middle). So I am now in Alfheim Province 30, and will attempt to get all the Hard Stages done first, followed by the Alfheim stages, then finish up the Enchanted Moose and Elf Watchmen avatars before moving on to the Asgard sets. The special stages / avatars missions showed a very stingy side of the Devs in that they can’t even allow some tallying in the background so the Asgard stages / avatar progresses (that players go through on Normal to finish the story) aren’t wasted even though they weren’t visible.

Perhaps I will finally summon Valhalla portal once I am at least done with Hard Stages? Or until I am done with the Asgard mission sets? Or when I am forced to buy more roster space after some new non-S3 heroes come in and make me reach the cap? I don’t know, it really just depends…

With Season 4 being pushed for release at the end of this month, I am still kind of surprised because of how long it took between season 1 and 2 releases, the greatly shortened time in between 2 and 3, and the blazing speed in between 3 and 4. It’s as if Zynga weren’t really happy with the Valhalla theme and are trying to move past it as soon as possible. It won’t really suprirse me that they now have different teams working on different seasons that season 5 is already in the pipe line.

With season 4, in addition to not summoning for it until I am ready to do so like I did in Season 3, I am probably going to take add another approach, and is that I probably won’t go into the story or its contents until I am done with what I needed to do with Season 3, and that is to finish the levels, the mission sets, and maybe do some summons to play with some season 3 heroes that I have been ignoring to do so for a year. Players need time to digest, I haven’t even gotten too much out of season 3, and certain can say the same about season 2 to some degree too.

Welcome back. Lots more voices around here lately, and that’s a good thing.

Whenever you decide to summon, let us know the results. I admire the discipline, and I want to see it pay off in a big way! You are very dedicated to playing the game your way, and I think that’s pretty neat.

I know I’m being cynical, but I think summoning is down now that the whales have most of the good heroes from challenges and seasonals. They can’t keep throwing more heroes into those pools ad infinitum, so S4 is a more efficient way to put more heroes out there to keep people summoning. The Zynga purchase really hurt this game, I think.

You might as well wait for season 3 costumes you know they will so it

Right? But Season 2 heroes should see costumes before 3, at least that’s what I am hoping for, none of this, “We are jumping the gun and putting Finley and Killhare to the front of the line” move they are pulling. As long as there are no contents or major features to this game that is only accessible to players having x or y hero (like you need to have Odin on your roster in order to access), I am fine with just playing the game at my pace. I am already behind when it comes to heroes, what’s a bit more wait?

Sure about that? The rate at which heroes get introduced into this game is pretty absurd. Last I checked, someone told me that there are currently 150+ 5* heroes in this game, I have 27 of them, by the way. If they want to keep the spenders happy with new shiny toys, there is probably not going to be too much of anything else besides continuously throwing new heroes into the batch.

Welcome back! Love your avatar…Diablo I.

Thanks! But now that Diablo II is getting remastered I’ll have to change it to a necromancer :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Btw off-topic but I pulled Malicna from taverns today. It’s like the game doesn’t want me to quit yet.

Have you guys had any luck with ToL pulls?

Congrats on the pull! Anything not vanilla is amazing in my book! :+1:

I haven’t done my pulls yet this time but historically I have done alright. I have gotten 2 HOTMs: Athena (1st ToL ever) and Ranvir (January 2021).

Hoping the magic continues :crossed_fingers:

:beers:

Congrats on Malinca @SirGorash!

I haven’t finished this Tavern yet, but in the past I’ve not had any luck with this summoning portal. I do know a couple of other f2p who got GM, and I think Athena from Tavern in the past though.

Since they are going to release costumes for non-S1 heroes, I’m going to try to save all my coins until they are released for Tavern.
