I’m not a huge fan of trading, I could exploit that with my alt frankly and the coding to prevent that from happening is a major infrastructure headache from a database perspective even when well designed.
I am a huge fan of reducing the total number of rare ascension items and making them either shared for heroes or just upping the drop rate, or reducing the numbers needed which should still solve the core issue - progression is really slow in this game compared to other games.
