That guide is based on the premise that a player only has Classic Season 1 4* heroes and nothing else.

Boril can be used to kill Joon via Riposte, but it’s not a particularly easy strategy to undertake. Assuming you have Boril active when Joon fires, you still have a 40% chance he won’t even hit a hero with Riposte.

And once Joon is dead, Boril will do very little to contribute to the fight, since Friar Tuck and Boril won’t hit other than slash attacks, and Boril’s attack stat is low, and his tile damage against Friar Tuck will be weak.

Using only Season 1 4* heroes, Wu Kong is the most critical hero.

Then ghost tiles through the hole in their line to charge up the traitor Wu and use color stacked tile damage to kill Boril and Friar Tuck.

The traitor Wu Kong will likely play a key role in winning or losing this quest. Most of these heroes have fairly weak attack stats (Li Xiu 616, Rigard, 595, & Boril 501). The only hero with above average attack is the traitor Wu Kong (707). As much as it pains me to say it, there might actually be a reason to keep more than one Wu Kong and that is to color stack tile damage for this quest.
