The difficulty is ok with mana control heroes. I pulled them off the shelf without knowing what the bosses were and I beat the first 4-5 levels with 3* and the levels up to 8 with 4*. I didn’t want to waste time so I used 5* on the last two but I’m sure they are beatable with 4* heroes and I’ll bet a crazy person will do it with 3*. I admit that I have over 70 4* maxed but I didn’t even touch the S3 heroes; in fact I used mostly S1.
BTW you can bring 5* battle items from Hunter’s Lodge. I didn’t use any but they could put you over the top.
I made some recommendations for them to allow folks to preview the bosses. Otherwise some players with barely enough heroes are going to be really sad.

Tavern of Legends Quest
I feel this could be re-scaled so there’s not such a sharp jump between stages 3 and 4 (and, 4 and 5, but that’s a lesser issue, especially if 4 is reduced). My rationale is that one benefit of this new feature is to give us more content for rarely used heroes - an idea that I think is phenomenal and fully support.
To that end, make stage 4 beatable (but perhaps a challenge / gamble) by well-emblemed three star heroes. As is, it is likely too difficult / risky for them right now, even assuming the team power recommendation is high (which it always is).

I usually skip Tavern, so I forgot how Gorram Frakking annoying Tavern is with costumes
Change hero to base ( or costume )
Use in Quest
Go to Quest team and change back preferred costume ( or preferred base )
But with Taverns step #3 is impossible
Since you have committed to costume 5* HotM, please fix these QoL issues ( hint, renaming preferred heroes to ^Grimm, ^Wilbur, adding tags “preferred costume” and “preferred base”, would all help, plus filter by tag, and name )

Not worth is for 2x Classic 3* heroes

This time I am targeting 115x Legends coins ( Stage 7, TP 3800, Total WE 37 or 6.166 hours of WE ) since this should only require 3*, and 4*, heroes ( see @Epigenetic above )
Maybe go wild and complete Stage 8 ( see above )
Really wish Taverns was only 5x stages instead of 10x stages
