🐉 [Master Discussion] Ruby Cavern (Dragonspire Rare Quest)

Stage 5 of Ruby Cavern offers a 4* ruby pendant

which isn’t an item that is needed for the ascension of 4* fire dragons

but only for 5* fire dragons:

I doubt that it will be readily feasible for ftp and ctp players to repeatedly go for quests for dragon ascension items up to level 5. Making these attempts can require the use of a lot of battle items and, depending on the frequency of these quests, I doubt that f/ctp players could readily sustain this cost.

I got to the 3rd round of Ruby Cavern (before my programme crashed) and, despite care having been taken, I’d used all my minor healing potions by this stage though I’d mana pots… remaining. For me at least, success in at a parallel quest at stage 5 would, to some extent, be quite dependent on the board.

Looking at the dragonspire leaderboard, many of the players have exclusively 5* dragons some of which are up to their 3rd ascension and I think that it is for players like these that the 5th stages of dragon ascension item quests are designed.

For F&CtP players I think that a potential strategy may be to:

  • level up your team/s of mainly 3* heroes with sufficient options, for instance with enough healers, to make a variety of quests feasible;
  • store up common feathers and battle items;
  • build the dragonspire base to enable use of hatchery 10;
  • pull for 4 and 5 *s while building up a second hatchery 10;
  • swap at least one hatchery to feeder production on gaining a 4 or 5;
  • on gaining the 5*, start going for the 5th stages of the ascension item quests for that colour;
  • judge a time to start going for all quests to best enable getting best reward from item use.

Does anyone have any insider information related to the frequency of dragon ascension mat quests? This could be useful to know in regard to the viability of f/cpt participation to stage 5.
