I, too, wish that the forum platform would filter out all of the perspectives I didnāt want to hear (intentionally obtuse posts, annoying trolls, overt negativity, ridiculous personal attacks or other things that detract from the overall enjoyment of the forum).
There is a way to filter out whole sections and only look at the recruiting stuff. I forgot exactly how to do it, but you can customize your homescreen.
We lost 2 nice partners of the alliance because they were done with spending money and donāt get any nice summon. We all know that is just lick but after a long time and not getting anything but Gunnar they decide to drop the the game, they were level 62 and 54
Well as we just lost Rigs along with a growing list of some of the most knowledgeable players here, and it all seems due to the overwhelming greediness of who? Is it Zynga pulling these strings? Or is it a deliberate choice by SG?
The alchemy lab was an obvious failure by most standards. The Hero Academy could be promising but will it leave beta that way? It appears to make the despicable Tavern of Heroās even less needed or wanted than it already is!! Thatās a VERY strong statement as anyone with more sense than dollars understands that itās a money pit the really removes what little goodwill SG got from the very small coronavirus/quarantine āgiftsā to help the ācommunityā.
I really hope that someone comes to their senses here very soon as the future isnāt looking very bright. I can guarantee I wonāt be the last man standing here. If this trend continues Iāll be on the short bus heading to a mind numbing game to help me forget faster than AL Gore invented the internet.
This is and always will be, in my 50+ (a tiny bit more) years of experiences, the best run and maintained forum Iāve ever been a part of. Iāve made many great friends here and have enjoyed every minute I spend on the forums. BUT, I do not wish to see a slow painful death and as such will not remain to watch if this trend continues.
#SmallGiant, #Zynga PLEASE stop this blood letting before itās completely out of your control. We, the players/fan base, wether F2P or P2W do NOT wave to see this game die in the name of a 1% gain in stock. If you continue to show you donāt care we will continue to find a place that does (thereās at least 1!! Maybe even 2) so FFS alter course NOW or Season 3 will end in misery and sadness if it even makes it that far.
@PeachyKeen, Iām 100% behind this statement. There are 2 reasons Iām still here, #1 my alliance, a better group of people you will never gather in one spot again, #2 this forum and players such as yourself who go out of their way to help other players without a 2nd thought (btw that made a VERY big impression on my alliance, thanks again) and the Moderators thst give so much of their free time to make this the special place I can assure anyone new that it is.
Once I leave my very 1st step will be to sell any Zynga stock I may or may not have and then to make sure this company never gains another cent from me nor a second of my time.
So far, as best as many of us can tell, it is largely a reskin of EP. Same buildings (even same costs and build times - I lookup the costs here to know how to plan for the next level of a building). Same five colors and strengths and weaknesses. Raids, wars, titans. Even this new concept of temporary extra health is something they have there, itās just called armor. And it triggers different behaviors just like Baldurās special behaves here. Rare quests, challenge events, 1*-5* heroes, poor story/dialogue - itās all there.
There are some new features (weapons are advanced differently than troops, square matches create diagonally exploding dragons), UI improvements, they just had a huge balance release.
All that to say, it may be a different development team, but they started with the same source code, work in the same building, etc. As you insinuated, it is likely that PC āstoleā some talent from EP, whether creative or technical, and for a āsmall company,ā that loss is going to be evident to end users.
After 2+ years as one of the middle casual players I have a couple times considered quitting. Iāve been active here so Iām certainly not in the silent majority. I also donāt spend much and never will. The first 10 months I spent nothing.
I continue to play because I still enjoy the challenges the game offers to me. I am not bored with the game yet, inf act I am still learning its intricacies. I have pulled all but one S1 5* (missing Magni), many in duplicates, but it would take me literally years to gather the required materials to level them all. And I am not even close to a level 30 troop. Or a +20 emblemed hero. But if I do become bored, I will quit playing. Iāll say my goodbyes to my alliance of two years and hopefully post a short goodbye like @Rigs.
I will NOT start another match 3 game like E&P. I will probably not start another online game, at least not for a while. This is the second one Iāve played on my phone. The other I played for three years, spent literally zero in the game, never accessed the forums, reached a point where I could easily finish top 1% in any tournament, and got bored and frustrated with the changes they made to it. Itās actually still on my tablet but I havenāt played it at all in months and not regularly in a year and a half. That could eventually be E&Pās fate.
One thing that I have noticed for me is a definite lessening of interest in a lot of the, um, new content here in the forums.
In that particular case, āBobā was already only a āmemberā. āElderā status was granted to those who were steady and reliable. āCo-leaderā was granted to those who were steady, reliable, and helpful. Took me a couple months to go from member to co-lead. As a co-leader, I didnāt want to kick Bob. But other co-leads voted and decided that āBobā had missed too many titans and war flags. I was the only one who voted to keep Bob. But I was outnumberedā¦ and as much as I believe in supporting individual people, I also believe in democracy and āwhatās best for the allianceā. Majority of the alliance decided that Bob had to go. So, Bob had to goā¦ in order to keep the majority happy.
This was my first alliance, mind youā¦ most of us didnāt use Line. 95% of communication was via alliance chat. 5% through email (though email was mostly used for private conversations not meant to be read by everyone).
Iām not in that alliance anymore, because drama. I left and started my own casual group where the scores donāt matter and titans oftentimes escape because half of us forgot that we had a titan in the first place.
I think what everyone has to realize is that 1-E&P is a āgood gameā. If it wasnāt most would play a few months and quit. 2. The ones that are āintoā it will find a source to further their game play- forumns, fb group or even YouTube. That being said- I think the main focus should be creating a good experience for the player base on the forumns. Really, SG should realize itās what attracts interest in their gameā¦ when you can get into contact with players here you also get info to join line or Discord, game play help etc. The forumns is actually the best platform to let āother playersā promote their game. Itās sad to see the forumns just turn into a āhand outā for some players to complain they āthink thisā or ā want thatā. Make the forumns a better place and they could turn things around. Donāt have a presence and let the animals turn this into āAnimal Farmā and we can probably conclude the out come.
Maybe itās time for another community engagement thru Line as done recently with avatars to honor players? Those spread like wild fire all over the world and truly showed what an amazing community we have. How about if we all agree on one avatar and no spending until we get a new AMA with SG that actually gives us some answers about all the issues being raised lately?
Or maybe we should all start mentioning other games until here until staff gets tired of removing them ?
Language is another problem too.
Forum rule said, English is the official language, but people around the world are using many different languages. Forum gives some spaces for foreign languages posts, but it does not work at all.
Even the game itself does not support my mother tongueā¦ No wonder that the player base in my country is very smallā¦ People leave the game too soon because of the language barrier.
Well said @nevarmaor, I think Iāve always respected your thought processes with these sort of things because you didnāt throw money at the game to get ahead. You took the long and hard road and to me that deserves respect.
But,
Itās becoming harder and harder to understand some of the moves made by SG (zynga) Some of these season 3 heroās are taking power creep to power jog and I imagine towards the end power Sprint. We can then add in the āOMG itās the end of the world!!!ā nerf to JF that move him from the most sought after supposed OP beta hero to the bench in the majority of teams (If they added 150% initial damage to him it makes him useful, as is hes just a not very good meat shield with a jaunty hat) To the immediate release of Telluria, without a natural opponent in an unnerfed JF, then you add in the Vela/GM Synergy and suddenly Vela gets caught in the crossfire but luckily was only a grazed (one I donāt think she needed and she eluded my roster). So Telly gets a nerf (that IMO changed very little) after all the money had been spent chasing her. Then they buff QoH? Was someone complaining? There was even consideration to nerf GOBBLER who, other than Agwe, is the least leveled 4* until maybe the current meta?
The release of the original Alchemy Lab and the new and improvised AL, look make its not the right word but it began with an I anyway, version which I still am doing nothing with.
Then because of my 54 compasses, 51 Fine gloves, 27 sturdy shields, 21 hidden blades and complete inability to get any 4* AM (other than quests) because I either buy them, nope, or I get another 3* AM from elemental chests, Titan/Titan chests, even the war chest like to give me multiple scabbards ā¦and compasses!!!
So now the summoning portal loves me, 6 Clarissaās!!! 2 Kages, Alfrike, several Grimbles and Margaretās and worst of all several Atomosās that is NOW actually WORTH the AMās that I used elsewhere so he remains where he was sitting on my bench. Because before the recent update where they gave the 1st ever mana speed buff? and he suddenly began wiping half my team.
Bottom line Iām certainly not bored. Havenāt been here long enough, nor had much time to play as much recently with the coronavirus and other exciting real life dramas. But to watch highly respected player after highly respected player leave itās quite disheartening. I get you caffeine keep everyone happy but many if not most of these players didnāt simply leave because they were bored. They left because they felt unappreciated and ignored. If the beta testers unanimously tell you ToH needs to be fixed you DONāT ignore them!!! You FIX it. Iām going to bet that summoning portal is the least used portal in the game other than the free tokens. Because once again 71% chance of Dawa and F. Tuck showing up is nonsense
To be a bit on point instead of just more criticism, I would like to add that many of the things us players want has nothing to do with lowering SGs revenue. Better odds in summons and more AM for instance would only make people hungry for more. When we get what we wanted, we want the next thing. Itās silly but true.
Another thing that wouldnāt loose SG money is more content (Wars!!!) that forces/lets us use more of the roster. Several defenses in war for instance. It wouldnāt stop players from summons, just make more heroes valuable. How many Guin owners here get sad when you see her in the roster (remembering maybe how much you spent to get her) possibly never to be used again?
Sometimes I think SG got the puzzles part wrong and thinks it works like a jigsaw with a limited number of pieces before players are done spending.
Puzzle combat will bomb at the box office like a power rangers movie. Do they think anybody other than E&P playerbase would give a damn about it when even E&P players lost trust in their approach?
I wonāt deny this is true at least to some extent, but what has been told on this issue is very widespread. Many old players are caged in this game by their personal relationships. Iām telling this confidently because this is true (even truer than whales) for the players from my country, Turkey.
