ā€¦which is complete BS, as I just realized after the new update (which added the clarification that the effect also prevents itself from being cleansed). The reason I believed it did work like that is because Iā€™ve cleansed the effect before, but apparently only using Faiezā€™s passive, which is not a special skill and therefore not affected by the effect.

No, it was cleansable before as well (via Special Skill). The new update buffed it by making it uncleansable, the question is if Faiezā€™s passive still works to cleanse, which Iā€™m not totally sure will based on how theyā€™ve worded things. The update is just a few days old though and Zarel and Celimene are still reasonably scarce.
