IIRC, Vela kept getting nerfed even after the Telluria nerf was over. As much as there was outcry over Telluria, it was Vela who got at least as much, if not more, of the nerf stick, and at least in part because of Telluria.
Also I had to laugh especially at the part about nerfing skipping beta, in the hypothetical case where beta said “this is fine balance” and SG nerfed later anyway.
