I know I am being redundant but what a broken tourney mode. I faced double treevils always with a side dose of Faiez in 7 of my 10 bouts in the first two days. No strat can help you when you need three sets of matches to activate your specials 5 of the matches were over before it began. O offensive strategy is required it is all go in and hope to see a tonne of greens to allow you activate your Faiez first without activating Treevil. Boring and frustrating does not a good game make.

I thought I am lucky that there is no Treevil in my 1st and 2nd attack but no I am very wrong 
. The board is full of red and yellow and Jarif slow my heroes down. I can’t fire any heroes until enemy Sudri fire and I lose with
Then I know where all Treevil that I have to face today go . They are here in 3rd, 4th, 5th attack .
3 Treevil per attack for 3 attacks in row . I thought that is the end. However, I somehow get pretty good board in all 3 last attack and manage to win. I can charge either green or purple right after enemy tank fire.
I do almost lose in 4th attack. I forget to use C Tyrum instead of CB Tyrum . Enemy Treevil fire. I fire my Treevil back. The board dry up a bit. Both enemy Treevil flank fire. My heroes are about to die with <150 hp left . Luckily, I manage to charge my green right before enemy Sudri fire. And after that they can’t do anything to my Faize + Shrubbear super protection

Overall, I also forget about my Helo . I might replace Shrubbear with him in some attack in the next days.

I think Joukahainen + Treevil + Faiez tank/flank are the one of the best synergy for defense .
I also found that all player who attack my defense have at least 1 Treevil at tank .
There is no strategy that can avoid the “getting the tiles” problem .
I might replace Shrubbear with Helo if there is no much hit all enemy. Helo can counter only 1 Treevil. I don’t think he doesn’t help much if there are 3 or more Treevil while Shrubbear can take more than 5 Treevil if I pair him with Faize.

Day 2 started well with 3 matches against Graymane, cBalthazar, and Gunnar tanks. Used 3 Green (Faiez - 2 Norils - Treevil - Joukahainen) against the Blue tanks and 3 Dark (Faiez - 2 Maeves - Treevil - cHawkmoon) vs cBalthazar. Boards were good so no problem.
Next 2 were against Treevil tanks. Attacked with Faiez - 2 Maeves - Treevil - cTyrum. One had no Dark tiles, the other had plenty so one zero and one win.
Defense is 5-0 and should have no problem maintaining the A I think.

one loss to the tree, both our trees charged at the same time, but he fired first, second to Aqeela tank who hits amazingly hard at 55+20, and is then very tough to kill. both times never any green on the board to charge my Faiez, that’s a major factor. Interesting to note that both teams i lost to had Gramps wing, Helo flank, although Gramps was never a factor in either loss, i was basically dead before anyone fired but the tank both times.
D still undefeated. but if tomorrow goes like today, i’ll be out. currently in 5% with 5248 points, rank 11756.
it’s rough out there, and not just because of the trees! good luck on day 3 everyone!

Well, I guess I got too high score from 1st day, as my very first match today was against a Treevil tank and 15 level troops, tried using Shrubbear but didn’t get 7 tiles in time. I have not leveled Faiez yet, I should though but I highly doubt I would use him anywhere else than 3* rush tournaments. Even though I saw a video on Youtube where one member of Team Korea used Faiez in pretty much every attack in VF-war against Alfrikes, but sure they were all LB’d and fully emblemed, I don’t have the resources for that.
Anyways, that was a tank buster against that Tree, then lost 2nd time against An-Windr tank with a whopping 0. So 3-2 offense in total. Defense got attacked 3 more times yesterday, so it was 4-0 today.

3* rush no yellow is the single stupidest and most pointless event in this entire game. No Treevil, win. Treevil, lose. It’s just so idiotic.

Here are some defs I faced first 2 days.
This one didn’t look dangerous at first, but bad starting board - yellow/red tiles - was against me and I almost lost this, becuase red tiles kept appearing for Surdi… so he can deal big damage to my heroes. Thankfully before his second full charge, my heroes (my team was C Ulmer, Nordri, Helo, Tree, Faiez.) got the tiles I finally needed.
Except Tree nad Faiez nothing really dangerous. Board was favorable, Faiez never fired and I countered Tree in time.
Same as previous def, though a bit more dangerous front, but as well I was able to counter everything on time.
Jouka on tank is really not a great idea, he fired twice and I still recovered from not most favorable board. I don’t know what team I took tbh, probably the same team I use against Tree tanks.
For Level 100, quite shockingly weak defense team. I took Jouka, Tree, Faiez, Grevle, Shrub. Don’t know why I really took Shrub, maybe I was worried Whacker would kill my healer with his snipe or something so Shrub sacrificed himself for the damage. Nothing much to see here. Jouka was there to dispel Lemur’s defense against nature and/or Aqeela’s dodge.
This was the one I lost against, I believe Tree and Sudri fired before I could really charge anyone. Couldn’t do much there.
I was in shock that I got the worst possible combo on 1st flag of 1st day, even though not everything was fully leveled and emblemed, It was still awful… From the shock I had, I possibly didn’t play out that match as good as I could…
Also my defense saw more action today - from 1-0 to 4-1 A.
I think the main reason why I used Jouka is because of his immunity to status effects ailment which is also stronger against Nature heroes + uncleanseable for them, that makes another special skill from Faiez a lot weaker, but CB Tyrum probably has an advantage as he isn’t weak color and snipes for higher damage, Jouka and CB Tyrum have both their pros and cons, but CB Tyrum is probably a bit better against Faiez when I think about it now.

The main reason that make CB Tyrum better than Jouka is that CB Tyrum is purple.
If you go with Jouka and get 7 purple tile but enemy Faiez tank fire, your Treevil can’t do anything until you get 7 blue tile.
But if you go with CB Tyrum, you need only 7 purple tile and don’t care whether enemy Faiez tank fire or not.
IF he fires first.

Not necessary. Whenever if fire Faize + Shrubbear, enemy Treevil do only about 80-100 damage on my Shrubbear.
In my today 4th attack, all 3 enemy Treevil fire before my Faize + Shrubbear. My Shrubbear have about 650 hp after Faize heal but that is enough to take many hit from enemy Treevil.
I’m out on day 2 (3-1 today) I could buy in but I refuse out of protest for SG not correcting Tree. I also reconsidered investing in some type of anti-tree roster. I’m not wasting resources on a tournament that comes maybe once or twice a year (VF no holy).
I will reevaluate my sorcerer and monk costume 3* as they can do their specials in 6 times in VF. I have been overlooking this slight edge before. But in the end it’s just dumb tile luck when it comes to fighting trees.

Feel free to take a look, but the S1 costumes are so far behind the meta in 3 star world, that mine are mostly not worth using even though I have them emblemed and (in some cases, LB’d).

There are a few cards anti tree already. Problem is lack of troop support and you can’t fire with 6tiles and a unfavorable starting board easily results a lose.

Teams I faced today :
I started the tourney day like a dumbass again like I did day 1… Took CB Tyrum instead of Shrub. Probably costed me a win -_-.
Took no dispeller, just my anti-Tree team - Shrub, Tree, Helo, Tree, Faiez.
The left side is pretty passive, so easy win pretty much.
Yep, there it is, 5 Trees def! And hold your horses, I won. I was able to charge Shrub over and over again and easily kill all the Trees slowly.
CB Tyrum, Tree, Helo, Tree, Faiez team. Not most favorable starting board and Helo + 2nd Tree died. Then I could finally fire my Faiez and I got the win slowly.
Yay not a Tree tank, instead a most worthless spot for Tree and Faiez - wings!
Took a little different team - CB Tyrum, Tree, CB Mnesseus, Aderyn, Faiez. Fairly easy win.
I think I’d be more scared of 3* rush tourney no green instead of no yellow one. Without my MVPs Shrub and Faiez, I would be simply lost without them.

My team is pretty similar to @JekylandHyde but I use “CB Tyrum and Shrubbear” instead of “Bauchan and C Ulmer”. I decide to charge my green before purple. Faize + Shrubbear protect me from all enemy. Then I charge my purple. CB Tyrum dispell enemy Faize and my Treevil kill all enemy in few turn

3rd attack against this team
Yay, no Treevil but the board turn out to be bad. However, I use C Hawkmoon instead of Shrubbear in this attack. The board full of yellow and red. Thank for C Hawkmoon. Without her, I might lose . Enemy Faize fire at least 3 times before I can charge my purple. But even enemy have double hp, x2 charge of my purple seem to be able to kill almost every enemies .
4th attack against this team
Yeah, Joukahainen + Treevil + Faiez tank/flank synergy . I try Helo instead of Shrubbear. Luckily, I manage to charge my Helo and trigger enemy Joukahainen and Treevil. So, my Helo can cleanse all ailment from both of them. Then I charge my purple and win .
5th attack against this team
The board is pretty bad enemy Skrekok fire twice before I can charge my purple and win . Thank for putting those Treevil at wing . If tank is Treevil, I will lose .
I am at rank 174 for now. Very high rank for player with 2 “Just a bad board” lose .
