and then people would complain that a special smaller pool of players get to complete for prizes not available to the public. Sadly, you know it would happen.
Hey, more rewards for everyone is better than nothing, but sure people will complain about anything.
Iâm not interested in helping those kinds of unreasonable people but the complaint about a conflict existing is pretty legit I would say
Wonât matter. Most of the top players are beta testers MOST. So with that in mind thereâs a really small beta testing community that youâre going to reward with the same loot as the rest of the non-beta community. Say there are 200 beta testers to what 100K+ of non beta testers. Then everyone will want to be a beta tester with those odds and even more uproar will ensue.
Everyone wants to be a beta tester anyway.
Opening up more rewards to everyone in general should be welcomed
Honestly I only would to see the new content first but thatâs all. looking for bugs and balanced content not so muchâŚ
Thatâs why people do it.
Reward: first to look at new stuff
What you must give up: time and unhappy ungrateful people attacking your credibility
Lots probably think the reward more than makes up for it.
How many times have we been told that nothing is free in life?
My time can be limited and I rather maximize it by actually playing the game but I understand and appreciate the time and energy beta testers spend so I can enjoy the game more. I guess you can call seeing new content early as the ârewardâ for the sacrifice.
Epic bring arrows, axes, bombs, medium mana
Legendary bring axes, bombs, dragon attacks, super mana
-
Bring 5 red or purple. Combo of 5 or above within first 20 seconds with no combos under 3. Epic need at least half mana filled. Little damage done equally on all 3 minions. Finish with items
-
Bring 5 red or purple. 5+ combo with nothing under 3 in first 20 seconds. Also with half damage equally on all 3. Half mana for epic. Finish with items
-
Bring 5 red or purple. 5+ combo with none under 3 within first 20 seconds. Tile damage in first round plus specials to knock first round out or close. Finish with items

If those conditions arenât met flee and try again. Look for a diamond of strong color within first move and if not there flee. There is no way to place top 10 without a perfect or great board. Do not waste items on a bad combo
these are my event notes for 1-5. this is giving people strategies and sharing actual ways to place in top 10 events that we actually still compete in. the data that can be gained from a test environment is huge. I could pinpoint how much mana is needed, what combo average is needed for the desired score, what time is needed, is it more beneficial to bring a healer vs another hitter, best use for items, how the match bonus is calculated, will my specials kill the boss?..the list could go on. the sheer amount of information needed to place #1 without spending a fortune on items is a lot. I honestly do not see this information being posted to the publicâŚwhy? nobody wants to give away their secrets especially if they are still wanting to compete. dator doesnât have beta and spent money on gems to show people our strategy on 1-5 that we had to learn by spending gems and using items. with every event it changes. we tweak it to make it better because our test environment is the live game. you can not place top 10 without a strategy. this is as transparent as I can be.
My point being the temptation is there and Iâm not saying it was done but it looks fishy when no new heroes are being used. I donât think previous already tested events need to be tested again.
Approximately how many flasks are uses if youâre really trying to push for top 10 or better?
It depends on how lucky your boards are. Weâve been able to finish top 10 easy spending $40 on refills farming for boards. This is using a strategy. I couldnât tell you how much I spent not knowing what to look for. I spent all day on the event once and used all my items to not even place top 100. If you know what to look for you can maximize your score using minimal items and about $40 or so. #1 is a different kind of beast. That I am still figuring out. But have decided that the reward is not worth the research that would need to be done
Also a lot of people say they donât have the heroes or they arenât maxed or they donât have the troops⌠It is literally all about the board. I got one of my best scores on a round mistakenly using my 3-70 joon instead of my maxed. Wu may be the only hero needed and that is only for 10. It is always a plus to have a shield lower, aoe, and sniper which are all heroes that can be gained from tc20. Placing top 10 in the event is really all about strategy and what to look for and unfortunately a lot of WE flasks finding the board youâre looking for
SIMPLE SOLUTION: get rid of the ranking events. It only caters to the top %. Simply make it pass/fail like holiday events. Everything is fixed.
How bout they put a limit on the number of times a stage can be played live? 10 times? Less money for SG but it wonât let you buy your way to winning. Throws some of that research out the window too.
Beta testers are (beyond discussion) needed, they are a crucial part of software development as they help to validate the product for functionality, usability, reliability, and compatibility.
Things really gets complicated when the developers maintains an endless closed-beta phase along with the final open version of the game.
Even if the chars are separated, even if no information can be shared or leaked, even if beta testers donât receive a single gem in their open version account, they have an enormous and invaluable advantage over other players: the knowledge. They receive Mondayâs newspaper on Sunday. They know when to spend, when to save materials and so, long before everybody else.
Beta testers should be exactly that, beta testers and nothing else. Not top players, not top scorers, not top alliances leaders. There is an incongruity about that, a conflict of interest at least.
There is not such as âenvyâ behind these words (as I read before), there is simple and plain logic. Ask anybody, casino employees are not allowed to gamble in their own workplace.
Over 2 million people plays this game around the world, it wonât be difficult to find few thousands that really wants to help beta testing WITHOUT being final version players, without the personal gain.
Fantastic. I was waiting for someone brave enough to say this.
Seriously? Would you quit playing E&P just to become an unpaid E&P tester?
Why would it need to be unpaid? SG generates millions in revenueâŚ
If it was paid, it wouldnât be âwithout the personal gainâ, would it?
Professional testers would be something else. For starters, even with millions in revenue, you couldnât afford to hire thousands of them âŚ
Iâm really concerned about the bashing of Beta Testers in the general discussion forum.
I get it⌠but I donâtâŚ
I donât want to start a thread thanking the testers for their efforts, because it will be a magnet for the aggrieved.
I think the focus is misdirected. Yes, Beta Testers have some advantages. We can acknowledge that because plenty of them already have. Yes, respected players are saying theyâd love the chance to practice event strategy in Beta. Also a fair point.
But⌠itâs the wrong way of looking at this. The point of Beta Testing is to attempt - as much as possible - to iron out issues & bugs with new heroes and game features in the entire game. Not to gain insights into how ti win events.
My opinion is that this is an invaluable resource for improving a game that is an important part of my life.
How can we let the Beta Testers know we appreciate the time they devote to improving the game without adding fuel to a clearly simmering fire? Is there a way of quelling the dissatisfaction?
