Who to max - Azlar or Elena? (or neither)

I have enough rings to ascend one red hero. Right now I have Azlar and Elena at 3/70 and I’m not sure which one I should max or if I should wait to pull a better red hero. I’m mainly interested in a hero that can help me in raids and wars.

Right now the reds I have maxed are Gravemaker, JF, Zim and Marjana. I know a lot of people love Azlar but given that I already have 3 heroes that dish out burn damage I think Azlar might be redundant.

Option 3 would be to be patient and wait and see if I can pull a better hero than those 2.

Considering who you already have, you might want to consider holding out for something better. I maxed Azlar early on because he was all I had. He served me well until I pulled GM. I still use him often, but at the end of the day, you play with what you have. IF you must chose, I would go w/Elena due to her counter-attack and her fighter class. She doesn’t compete with GM for emblems.

I second JAWS’ advice. Especially with the great reds you already have…you couldn’t handle the slow mana with all that fast goodness you currently enjoy.

Elena would give your titan team a nice boost. And azlar is a killer in fast raidT… but both of those are pretty niche reasons to max.

Grazul or mits or black knight… would be nice options over Elena or azlar.

But honestly with who you have already maxed maybe it’s just best to play with what you have and not chase specific heroes.

As kind of a counter point to some degree as to what’s been said, yes, you do have fantastic reds already maxed. Rather than wait for an indeterminate amount of time for the next hero at that level, since you’re so deep, just level the one YOU want to play with because you think it would be fun or cool.

There are people out there that use those same two heroes everyday and think they’re great, so it’s not a waste. They are solid heroes. Pick one and have fun! Huzzah :partying_face:

Just decide where you would want to use either of them and then decide which one you would want to use more. With what you already have I’d say neither one will see a lot of use. Do you need either for wars? Do you plan to spend on future heroes (in which case consider waiting).

FWIW I have a maxed Azlar myself but still tend to favour my +20 Gormek.

If you really want to max either of them, chose one where you also have the costume. Otherwise, wait for a better hero or max either if you have at least12 rings.

I have maxed Mitusko, JC, and Marjana x2 and “Elena with Costume”

You know what, I am now upgrading 2nd Elena that I have because Elena in costume is owning the highest counter attack stats in this game at 155% FOR 5 TURNS. Joon solar beam or Sartana death strike will bounce back and cause damage about 1300+ HP in one shot. RIP most of the time.

Elena-Costume at maxed will receive costume bonus and other stats including:

  1. mana speed increase
  2. class change to rogue, at level 8, emblems will further increase the mana speed.
  3. mana troop will even more increase the mana speed.
    with this 3 factors, Elena-costume will perform very well with increased mana speed from SLOW TO AVERAGE…

Currently I split 5 red in to 2 teams of 4-1 formation for war against Telly center tank:

  • Mitsuko, JC, Lancelot with Boldtusk-Costume
  • Elena, Marjana x2 with Falcon

When my 2nd Elena-Costume finish, I will replace her with Lancelot. I would recommend Elena for complementing your offensive line up.
