When both of them are maxed, Thorne’s standard attacks are much weaker than Triton’s and his special only hits mildly harder. In compensation, Thorne is much sturdier than Triton.
So I wouldn’t tank with Triton, while it’s basically what Thorne was designed for. But if I needed damage on a team, I’d be much more likely to go with Triton.
