Wilbur, Proteus, Grimm, Bloodtusk, Wu Kong.
This is my list primarily because they are the most versatile. I mean there are other GREAT 4* heroes but in regards to a solid “5 hero group” to fight anything (wars, titans, quests) this would probably be my team of choice. If i was choosing a team of 5 for a defense team it would be different. Defensive team would probably look something like Wilbur (survivability/armor buff and defense down), Cyprian or Boril (Tank with high counter attack damage), Rigard (best 4* healer), Bloodtusk (attack buff/armor buff), and maybe Caedmon (4* sniper with enemy debuff).
One thing many people overlook in this game is how heroes work TOGETHER as a collective whole. So even though there are way better 4* heroes comparing them 1v1, this game requires teamwork amongst your 5 hero team.
Honorable Mention: Grimm, Kiril–I mighta picked Buddy because I couldn’t choose from one of these two.
“A” rated heroes others like more than me:
Wilbur - He’s screwed me far more often than he’s saved me. In war attacks, he becomes something of an all or nothing proposition. This is especially true in battles involving field aid, or those where the opponents defense team includes more than one healer.
Falcon - I’ve got my Falcon up to 4-70-12 now… and I’ve got to be honest, he just doesn’t do it for me. He comes off my bench pretty often in Atlantis, but he’s never as effective as I’d expect him to be. For a dude with 800+ defense he sure croaks easy against 10-11* titans.
Rigard - This is probably more of a consequence of me having Zim and how I play the game, but Rigard isn’t an essential component of my teams and never has been. In general, I try and kill my opponent quickly rather than wearing them down and trading blows. Rigard’s attack is only middling to below average, so while he survives a punishment, he doesn’t add a lot of damage to my stacks. I prefer Sabina, TBH.
Without reading the topic, I’ll go with Jackal, Wilbur, Sonya (costumed), Proteus, Rigard. Special mention to Hansel and Falcon, and heck I’ll give Grimm and costumed Mel a nod as well.
1- Boril
2-Wu
3-Proteus
4-Hansel
5-Kiril
Honorable mention ( Caedmon, Rigard, Boldtusk )
I also have Merlin, but havent manage to spend time to level him up. I see he is on most of the lists here, didnt know he was that good.
Almost one year later, my roster has grown a lot. So I’ll play again… keeping in mind this is completely personal.
Proteus - still the king, useful in war offense, raid offense, challenge events, tournaments AND the world map.
Kiril - that heal + defense boost has saved me many times, allowing even frailer heroes like Proteus to tank hits from heavily-emblemed Liannas
Rigard - he was the last classic 4* I got, but is quickly becoming one of my most used. That full-party cleanse is gold.
Sonya - now that I have her costume, she performs double-duty as cleanser AND dispeller. and I have 2 Sonyas (second one almost maxed), so if I go Blue mono I could have both in the same team…
Wu Kong - only comes out for Titans, but he has dramatically improved my Titan scores!
Echoing a lot of what everyone’s saying here, but the top 5 on my roster (that I have leveled). I’ll stick with a rainbow theme and only have 1 per color.
Wu Kong: I don’t think it’s close. When you’re a newer player and you’ve missed out on Miki/Ranvir and Atlantis isn’t kind and you don’t get Tarlak, Wu Kong is how you get crazy titan scores.
Proteus: I don’t have Hel so I don’t know how playing with her works but I love having a hero that shuts down 3 other opponents heroes.
Melendor: He’s in several of my green stacks and almost always in when I go 3/2 green heavy. With his costume he’s even better.
Triton: I’ve had Triton since the early stages of my time with this game. The healing boost is awesome. He’s in every single blue stack I use.
Guardian Falcon: Every green titan every time. He’s not into every 3/2 heavy red stack, maybe I should do that more, but in wars he’s always in the second batch of reds I take.
