Where do families in Atlantis come into play?

I noticed that each Atlantis hero has a family designation, but didn’t give it much thought as it seems to do nothing at the moment.

Family members might stack or perhaps when they face each other in war, they can’t attack each other.

Each family has a bonus when using multiple in same lineup

The family bonuses seem to me to be just a bit of icing on the cake, though. I’m not likely to choose hero X over Hero Y based on the family bonuses. It’s a shame there isn’t something more compelling.

I haven’t tested the mana bonus but yea the others I’m definitely not jumping for joy. Color stacking gives a bigger boost than 15% attack
